MookieQ - I checked and you are "on" there already. There is nothing personal posted other than your name.
Hi Jen.....I figured it might be.....Did go thru some of the "check in" formula, but stopped short of it all. Thanks for info.
Totally agree about your last comments of the younger folk.
Quentin
Mookie Q - I checked and you are "on" there already. There is nothing personal posted other than your name. Go in and look around a little. You can open and close things and trace your lineage or that of friends, depending on how much they put out. Younger people are a hoot. They tell the world everything from their shoe size to if they have dandruff. You just quietly lurk and read. J Oh, and, we both have posted more info on here than we will on FB. Just our generation.

I was going to mention that. Quentin, you've probably made more personal info available here in the forums than you ever will on Facebook.
And for the record, my shoe size is 11 and I don't have dandruff.

Good Tuesday afternoon everyone. As you can see, I'm using Sarah's laptop. I think I'm adjusting to a laptop a little better than the Mutt.
I have our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta ready and on the warmer/serving station. All the usual, from burritos to tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, etc.
Everyone have a good afternoon, stay cool, and take care.

Tom, as I messed around wondering if I might join yesterday....I actually proceeded thru a few steps, but did not complete....Right away, a spam "window" dropped down advertising something.....I actually get very little spam. Norton is supplied along with my premium for Comcast....Used to be McAfee.
Wondering: Does it invite spam to slip in....?
grampaw pettiboneGood morning from Carolina. 76 with haze this morning, headed for 95 so they say. Methinks Paula and Walt need to invest in a good anti-virus program along with a non-Microsoft firewall. Nothing wrong with MS programs, but they are targets for every hop headed hacker on the blue planet! Quentin, you will enjoy FaceBook. Hmm, we're supposed to have that on the computer already, unless somebody is lying to us.Not sure where this one came from.
Quentin, you should enjoy Facebook, along with a bunch of other Forum members, we've not had any problems there ;both Paula, Sarah & myself are on there,
Mook, Love the Supper Menu!! Just go raid the Fridge if you're hungry!!

JoeKohor put sauce on it and call it BBQ...
Yes, sauce can cover a multitude of sins. Good meat does not really need sauce (I will add mustard to a hamburger, and hot dogs need something, also). When offered sauce for a steak in a restaurant, one of my brothers would ask, "Is there something wrong with the meat?"
Johnny
Finally got my thoughts organized this morning. Moved one from here to there. All done.
Took me an hour to make one cup of coffee; another hour to drink it. Then had to have a nap from the workout.
You just gotta love mid-summer!
Lunch anyone? Whatever trips your trigger. Kitchen over thatta way - somewhere.
Maybe leftover donuts for supper.....

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Mookie always told my crew at the restaurant that you could take doggie do and dress it up with parsley and someone would think it was great! Present company excluded, of course. It was a commentary on people's taste or lack thereof.
Well, sorry about not being back in before now. But, guess what: we have another virus on our computer. I am currently using Sarah's laptop. We should have our computer fixed and be back online by the weekend, hopefully. Sarah and I took the computer to a computer service shop, not too far away from the home.
I did make you all some sloppy joes for supper, along with a garden salad, and your choice of fries or chips.
So, you all take care, and we'll see you all later this week, hopefully!
tree68 Deggesty tree68They also had some chicken sausage that was pretty tasty. The thought of any bird sausage scunners me. Also, I always thought that bacon came from pigs; what other animal has such lovely layers of fat and lean? With sausage, a lot of it is in the seasoning. I would opine that you could make sausage stuffing out of sawdust and it would still taste great if it was properly seasoned... The first thing I had when I got there, though, was a speadie (pork).

Willy2 I'd say it's safe to join Facebook. You can set your privacy settings so people can see as much or little about you as you want. I've been on for over a year without any problems. Plus, it really does help a person stay in contact with family and friends. It's a good place to share railroad photos and videos too! For a long time, I vowed that I would never fall for Facebook, but at this point, I'm happy that I eventually did get an accou

......Thanks for the input / info.....Guess I'm still a bit weak on it.
JoeKohModelcar both stacey and I are on Facebook. Some people put on alot of info some do not. They have alot of ville's etc etc on there but I just use it to post train pictures.
Joe, for that purpose, that sounds fine.....but it looks to me one might put too much info out in cyber land, etc.....Seems too easy for someone to spread possibly info one might not want published.
afternoon
well Matt has started to help with the mowing. He said "this is easy" ten minutes later he says"why am I sweating?" I kept him on flat ground and made sure his lines were straight. He then asked how much he was going to get paid.Larry good to hear your mom is doing better.Modelcar both stacey and I are on Facebook. Some people put on alot of info some do not. They have alot of ville's etc etc on there but I just use it to post train pictures.Cw thanks for supper.Time to get things ready for work.

Ditto what Willy said- nearly everyone in my and my wife's families are members, and I've found it to be a fun way to keep track of what everyone's up to. Lately my sisters and I have been posting distances and times for walks that we've been taking for exercise, and now a couple of cousins want to get in on the action.

Modelcar .....It's been a good morning here....Partly cloudy, and we'll get warm today...about 90 is forecast. Just checked out "Facebook" and seen many of posters on it.....Thought I'd check it out to be able to dial into our BWA big get together next weekend....Have second thoughts though....So, refrained from taking the last step to be officially in. Any on here have second thoughts of belonging to it....? Too much info......??

Drinking coffee again - and debating if Monday shouldn't be excluded from the week. Or put it in between Wed and Thurs.
CW - chicken bratwurst is pretty good. Had chicken sausage and didn't like it at all. I eat so much chicken I should have feathers and drink Gatorade. Sorry MC. I am sure these were really distant relatives!
Heard Dallas may reach 100 teens this week. Poor Houston Ed. What am I saying - we aren't going to be a whole lot cooler this week. Will make 90 look pretty nice!
Tree - good news about Mom.
Ordered a new blanket to wrap up in when on puter. Winter isn't all that far away.
Good morning and peace be with you. 75 and sunny, headed for 89 and thunder later. CW, if you ever get the chance, watch the RAT RACE. It is a riot and you will love it.
Everyone have a great day and take care
Good Monday morning, everyone. Slept in this morning (until Trapper the Cat, decided to wake me). We were up kind of late last night: we watched the old movie "Tommy Boy"with Chris Farley, David Spade, Brian Denehey and Bo Derek. That was a pretty good movie.
Johnny, there is a fair amount of lean and fat in turkey bacon. That's about the only bacon Walt and I eat any more. Put it in the microwave, and it is really good, hardly any grease to it, and you basically can't tell the difference between it and pork bacon. But I don't particularly care for the turkey sausage.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready to go. On the serving station this morning: the usual bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, and toast this morning, instead of biscuits & gravy.
Yes, LC, it is good to hear from you and see you in here!! As Mookie said, please drop in once in awhile, and let us know that you are all right, and everything.
Larry, glad to hear that Mom is doing better!! I know that is a big relief to you and rest of family!
Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all later.
locomutt We have one here in Louisville that gets hit almost as much as Joe's, they just upgraded some of the surrounding roads and put in a new system that's supposed to alert drivers if they've got a to tall load.
tree68 Almost forgot - news from the "Mom" front - the surgery was completely successful and they found no spread of the cancer beyond the tumor that started the whole thing. A bit of a scare, to be sure, but in the end, more akin to an appendectomy than anything else. She's home and recovering well without the need for home care.

Finally, yard mowed.....Looks good. Had to delay on account of recent moisture.
Also, windows have been closed earlier this evening, as the humidity seemed a bit much, and I believe we're to get to 90 tomorrow. Can hear trains in the distance, and that pretty well tells me the humidity is up.....
tree68locomuttChicken Sausage, is that anything like "Turkey Bacon"?!!If I gave you a chicken sausage on a roll with some onions and peppers, you'd probably never notice the difference.
