Noted 89 on our instrument this afternoon.....Nice day. Some humidity with it.
Did return to the "car show" last evening {at nearby Cammak Station}, for Jean to hear some of the pretty good "live music" at the get together, Nice display of cars and people dancing {all outside}, made for a great incident for lots of people having fun.....Took 41 pic's.
Since this was church day, even got the car out of it's "resting place", and drove it to church. Guess even at my age, we still have some "kid" in me....
Quentin
Good afternoon. Kinda late getting here.... 89 and sunny in Carolina. Not supposed to get any storms tonight. We had a real gullywasher last night. Coming home from the steakhouse, we could hardly see the road, and there was heavy thunder along with it.
Suppoer sounds great, see ya after a while

spokyoneHmm. Rib-eyes, butterfly pork chops, hot dogs, burgers, brats. It all sounds good. Barbara likes Pork & Beans at room temperature. I like "Bush Grillin' Beans, Steakhouse Recipe" in the pot.
Bob, thanks for selecting our menu for today. We've just taken the first round of rib eyes, butterfly pork chops, dogs, burgers, brats off the grill. And there are all the regular side dishes, including room temp pork & beans, and the Bush Grillin' beans, on the serving station.
Everyone enjoy your afternoon, and take care.
cherokee womanGood Sunday morning everyone. How do you all feel about having a Cookout today? Just let me know, and that may be what we have going for our Sunday Dinner.

Not a "totally cooler day" here, temps still in the low 90s, but humidity levels lower making it a decent day.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Very quiet in here......We have a typical August day, but the humidity is a bit lower. Puffy clouds with lots of sunshine.
Stopped by our retro "malt shop" about a mile from us earlier today to check out the local antique car club vehicles on display, but found just a couple. Thought I missed it. Now learned it just started at 4 this afternoon....Don't know if I want to go back or not. Must be age....
The retro gas station / malt shop is almost as interesting as are the cars, of which I probably have seen most before, but for sure, there are some really nice and some unusual ones on display. Happens several times a season around our "town".
Plus the N S railroad tracks are just back of this location coming in on the Frankton line.....can make it a bit more interesting too.
Trivia: Those tracks are tangent at least 20 mi. from Muncie west. Haven't checked beyond Alexandria, In. whether they continue tangent or are treated to some curves in that area....

hhh, here.
That is all.
Good afternoon and how you doin? 79 degrees and cloudy in Carolina with a chance of thunderstorms. We had a baddun go south of us last night with trees down and flooding in some areas. Columbia too, was apparently hit pretty hard. We had a lot of heavy thunder and some rain, but nothing real bad.
Everyone have a great day and take care.
Good Saturday morning everyone. Joe, thanks so very much for taking care of breakfast this morning. Everything looks real good! We had a very pleasant temp this morning: It was in the mid 60s this morning. Very nice, little humidity, and our high today is to be right about 90 degrees. Humidity and temps in the low 100s coming Tuesday and Wednesday.
I'm getting ready to head over to St. George's. Today is the annual Fun/Health Fair, and I'm going to be volunteering a little bit of my time over there. It runs from noon to 4 p.m. Don't know if I will make it over there that long, though. Depends on how things go.
You all have a good day, keep cool and take care.
Aledo is famous for being lenient on eye exams. I know a few elderly people that drive considerable distance to be tested here.
we had a fantastic time at edon days. They had a train go to hamilton Indiana and back and we had the last 2 tickets. We rode in the caboose at the end of the train.Breakfast is ready.we have eggs pancakes and bacon.Going to get some chores done today.May go out later this afternoon here in town.Need to get started on a project for next weekend. Will be back later for pizza.
grampaw pettiboneIn SC, it's an either/or thing. If a person has had an optometrist visit in 6 months and has a statment from him to that effect, the onsite exam will be waived. Otherwise, you gotta look into some viewmaster gizmo and tellem what you see. I had my annual eye exam this morning and got the certificate. Good for 10 years now. If I had waited till next Friday, it would only be good for 5. Go figure!
That's good, Tom. May your eyesight last as long as the certificate--and many years beyond!
Last year, I renewed my license by mail--but because of my age I had to get an okay on the form, either from my eye doctor or from the DMV. I went over to the nearest driver license office, and the woman at the entrance gave me a number to wait until someone could check my vision. After I sent the form in, I received a notice saying that I had to get an official statement about my vision. On my subsequent trip to the DMV office, the young man at the entrance let me use the eyechecker that was right there--and he faxed the form with the okay on it to the proper place. Now, you go figure.
I had an interesting experience this year. In January, I had a major surgical procedure, and while I was in the hospital, I noticed that I could not read the clock on the wall across from my bed. After getting back home, I found a very old (bifocal and not trifocal) pair of glasses that made it possible for me to see properly. Not being sure that these glasses were just right, I went to see my eye doctor--and learned that the correction these glasses was so close to what I then needed that I did not need to get new glasses. I was told that major surgery can induce cataracts to change so that their interference in vision changes. I have noticed some change recently, so I will make another visit in early September.
Johnny
We just got back and all is well, even with a very sharp thunderstorm at the dmv that had the lights and computers flashing on and off and had the folks squalling....

Some very heavy weather west of us with a lot of watches and warnings. Gonna watch that close.
Take care
Deggesty Quentin, do you get your glasses from your "license branch?"

Indiana renewal of drivers license: First step: Must look into an optical unit and be able to read at a certain level of print. If ok, you continue. If not, well.....
Just got a call from the computer service shop, they were just getting ready to start on our puter. Hopefully, they will get it cleared of the virus and we'll be able to get it back sometime tommorrow. Otherwise, it'll be Monday.
Our regular Friday Fish Fry menu is now on the serving station. Including all the regular side dishes and desserts.
Enjoy your lunch/dinner, have a good afternoon, and take care.
ModelcarQuestion Tom: Don't they require an eye check at the "license branch" for renewal of your drivers license.....?
Some places will take a certificate from the doc as evidence you can see well enough to drive.

grampaw pettibone Today, the wife is taking me to get my annual eye exam and then to get my drivers license renewed. She has to take me cause they dilate my eyes for the eye exam and I don't need to be driving like that.

Good morning. 80 degrees and cloudy in Carolina this morning, headed for 97 and thunder with a heat index of 111.
Paula, I hope that you get the PC back soon. I know what it's like to be without.
Everyone have a great day
Good Friday morning, everyone. Sat outside drinking my coffee, and looked through the first section of today's newspaper. It doesn't feel too bad outside this morning: so far, there's a very nice breeze blowing.
Joe, thanks for taking care of breakfast. When I went to the grocery last week, I was going to get a couple of tubes of cinnamon rolls, but they were taking biscuits, rolls, cookie dough, etc., out of the case: cooling went out in the case, so they were taking everything out to toss.
Bob, sounds like you're having a good time!!
Well, the 'big' trial that's been going on here for a week and a half is over. 'Lady" who was charging a certain basketball coach of being a bad boy, has now been deemed the bad, bad one, and will be going to prison for extortion. They had her on 6 counts, and the jury found her guilty of all 6 counts. The only one I feel sorry for is her 5 yr. old daughter. Oh well, 'You reap what you sow!"
I called about the computer yesterday: they hadn't even starting working on it yet. Maybe we'll have good news later today.
Everyone have a good morning, and take care.
I have enjoyed watching the ASA girls 14 & under at the Nationals here in Moline. 156 teams have convened in the area for a week long tournament. My sister's grand daughter and her team were a low seed and lost the first game on Monday. Now they are playing very well. Their second game on Wednesday was delayed until 11:30 pm because of rain. It's been a great week.
good morning mookie.here is your coffee mug.Friday is here.Juice and coffee are ready to go.we have muffins and cinnamon rolls.a nap is in order then matt and I will see what trains we can find.
It's morning! And the heat is on. Will be a very hot week. Will send all of this east. Just remember - you don't have to shovel it; no boots; no cold feet; and no falls on ice, unless an ice cube got loose.
Randy - they put in seat belts and air bags, and now they need alerters.
rvos1979For those concerned, the beer survived as well
One must set one's priorities!
It never got anywhere close to the weatherguess. 94 is the best it could do, at least at the jetport.
Everyone take care
Evening all.....
Haven't looked at the mirror lately, but sure it's warm out here in western Virginia, was in the 90s before when I delivered in Bluefield, WV. Was supposed to go to Altoona earlier in the week, but bearings in my semi's alternator burned up, so had to divert to a shop for repairs.
Heard about one of our drivers' adventures the other day, someone in a car fell asleep and wrecked in front of him, causing him to wreck on I-81 north of Roanoke. All concerned walked away from the wreck, but the semi is now a pile of ashes. For those concerned, the beer survived as well, but driver of car (as well as his boss, owner of said car) is in a heap of trouble.......
See everyone later.....

Modelcar spokyoneand then Texas Road House steak dinner. We have eaten at many of them in the US, but ours is the best. The baked potatoes are awesome. We have a Texas Road House here in Muncie.....We visit it quite frequently. Has always been in the "better" category of restaurants here. Competition here is: Olive Garden {right next to it}, and across the street is: Red Lobster....Must say, all three are in the good category of food.
