....My first peek at our instrument earlier this morning was 63 degrees.  Now, several hours later, we have 75...Both inside and out.

Sunshine and light clouds, but it's to be a warm and dry day in this area.

Good holiday to all...

Edit:  We did reach 87 degrees this afternoon.  No rain.

It's rather cool here in my neck-of-the-woods. We barely have 68 degrees and the humidity is at 15%. We have a 50% chance of rain for later today. I woke up to a thunderstorm earlier this morning, but it did not last very long.

I think I'm gonna take my mountain bike out and peddle off a few miles.....my chiropractor has told me that she doesn't want me sitting around the house doing nothing.

BNSF has laid new track and improved the crossing at 18th and Southeastern Drive, so I think I will go take a look at that. I'll take my camera with me and maybe I'll get lucky. It's kind of like fishing, you never know when your going to catch something.

49F here this morning, and expected to get up to 70. It should be a little warmer tomorrow and Wednesday, and then back down for the rest of the week.

Good afternoon all.  Well, I did something today that has needed to be done for awhile now:  I sanded my walking stick, and restained it.  Will let it dry a couple more hours, and add a clear satin over it.

We have a round of  steaks, chicken, burgers and hot dogs on the grill.  Side dishes are:  your choice of green beans, a medley of broccoli, cauliflower, peas and snap peas, grilled 'baked' potatoes and grilled corn on the cob.

Hope you all are enjoying your holiday.  We still have a nice little breeze out, and plenty of sunshine!  Everyone have a good evening and take care.

Can somebody spare a little rain? We've got forest fires in the hills and range fires out on the prairie plus wind (not a good combination)...Mooks- the ash is headed your way.

It's that time of year again, unfortunately we had a really moist spring and summer. Now we have extra fuel that is drying out rapidly. At least the current fires are well clear of the railroads, so no fingers are being pointed that way.StormStormStorm

Sir C - I saw the fire on the news this morning and wondered about you.  Will go sniff the air in a few hours.  Didn't notice anything in the wind surge yesterday.  Also must check on Houston Ed - he seems to  have the water to put out your fire!

Going to open south window and see if I can hear Amtrak this morning.  So far it has just been the neighbor dog voicing his thoughts.

Will now go and wait patiently for food to appear.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Starting the morning out with 70 degrees here in Louisville.  Going to a high again today of 92, with a 20% chance of some rain sometime tonight, then a little bit cooler temps tomorrow, around mid 80s.

Mookie, coffee is ready and here's your coffee mug.

On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, cereal, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast & jelly.

I will leave some cold cuts in the cooler for your all's lunch today.  I'll be leaving home just before 1 to catch the bus and go to my orthopedist for my yearly checkup.  Appointment is scheduled for 2 p.m., but I'll have to take the bus today, then walk about 2 blocks or so to his office.

Everyone have a very good morning, and I'll see you all this evening.  Take care!

With apologies to Pogo Possum, Monday is on a Tuesday this week.

A little shower just about dawn this morning, but the weather guessers say they're gonna tease us with a day in the mid-80's before we get back to fall weather like we had most of the weekend.

Hope the package service guy has a couple of packages for me today.  I want to get that upstairs toilet installed so I can cross that off my list of stuff to do before Mom gets here next week.

Thanks for breakfast, CW.  Now it's time for some work.

Tree, my sister is married to a plumbing & heating contractor and I would send him to upstate New York to help you with your plumbing projects, but that's a long way from here!

We've been getting plenty of rain in my area, more than 22 inches in the last 3 months, and I wish I could send it to a few people who really need it.

I'm going to make the 1 mile trek to my bank for some spending money later this morning, then I've got some pictures - 2 rolls worth, waiting to be picked up at Lewis Drug. I hope they are the shots I am eagerly anticipating.......

....Started the day with 70 degrees.  Nice and warm, breezy with blue skies & sunshine....Humidity way down.  Good time of the season to get rid of much humidity.

Believe all that rain that Ed of Houston must be receiving now will head north and then with prevailing western winds, send at least some to us last of the week.....We certainly need it.

3800 feet almost won't let you in the state except along part of the KS/OK/C border. Watching the slurry bombers do their thing out the office window today. (One of the fire departments lost their firetruck to the flames yesterday.)

Feathers at 6020 feet.

Alas, the package service showed up, but with only one package, and then it was the tank, not the bowl.

I'm actually pretty well set on the plumbing end.  I'm not world class, but I can handle most of the simple stuff.  Replaced an outside hose bib a month or so ago, soldering and all.

Working on cleaning out a closet in the guest room right now.  Stuff in there I didn't know was there.  Next stop for most of it is the trash...

Just got about the fourth call on my cell phone from a specific telemarketer.  I put them in my cell phone address book under "Junk" and set the ring to not, so I won't even know they called any more, except they'll show up on the "missed calls" list.

Wild night last night, lots of running on little sleep, so slept very well this morning.  Headed back to Wisconsin with a load, and will probably stay in the state the rest of the week, and then on hometime for the weekend.  Heard it will be cooler there, it's about 90 here in Eaton, OH now.

Well, time to get rollin' again, see everyone later.....

Well, I made it home from the doctor's.  Good news is:  hips are both fine, little bit of arthritis showing up in them, not too bad.  Some arthritis showing up in the left knee, again, not too bad yet.  Bad news:  going back into therapy for my back.  He thinks that my problem on the left side is due to scoleocis (sp?)  So I will be making calls to start that tomorrow.  This time, I'll be going to a different therapy location. He had me walk for him, and saw the way I'm really limping on the left side.

Here is tonight's menu:  Mexican Fiesta time is back:

1.  Tacos:  hard shell and soft shell

2.  Burritos:  beef, beef & bean, and beef enchilada style

3.  Chimichanga dinner

4.  Smoked cheddar bacon burger

5.  Chipotle chicken wraps

6.  Spanish rice

7.  shredded lettuce w/diced tomatoes

Tom, I hope you get better, too!  Haven't made it to Facebook yet, so will have to check out your wall.

Everyone have a good evening ,and take care.  Think I just heard thunder outside!  We do need the rain!!

Evening all!

We have been working on planning our homecoming float in Student Council. It sounds like it’s going to be really neat!

What a beautiful evening it is! A nice cool fall breeze is blowing in through the window, and I can faintly hear a farmer shelling corn outside town……. Fall is almost here!Yes

I had to make a trek to my bank this morning, and in doing so, there is no way that I can make that trip without crossing the mainline of the Ellis & Eastern Railroad, which is only 1 block west of my house. I reached the grade crossing to find 14 Canadian snow geese! And we have an abundant population of them here in Sioux Falls.

I immediately thought, "Maybe we could have a goose dinner in the Flat Wheel Diner this weekend", although I'd much rather eat turkey or pheasant.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Jim, the doctor didn't prescribe any salve, just different therapy.  Maybe I'll have better luck this time!

We have a temp of 70 or 71 degrees this morning.  It's a little bit on the cool side.  I did step out to get the paper, and walked down our sidewalk, to look up the street.  I had heard on the news, that a car/vehicle had struck a building at 26th & Hale, which is just one block north of our house!  Don't see anything, but it is still quite dark outside.  Guess I'll try to investigate a little later on this morning.

Coffee and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready to go this morning, including some hot chocolate and hot apple cider.

On the serving station this morning:    bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and toast.  There is also some boxes of cereal, if any of you just want a bowl of cereal this morning.

Everyone have a good morning, and Mookie, here's your coffee mug!!

Good morning. CW, thanks much for breakfast this morning. We have 45 degrees here in Sioux Falls, SD, and our temp will top out at 70 this afternoon, not too bad if you ask me.

I go see my chiropractor at 9:30 this morning, then I have a dental appointment at 1:00. In between the two appointments or after both, I have to call Drain Master and have them come out and clean out my main sewer line. Yuck!! That will cost me about $90.00, but at least they gaurrantee their work for 6 months.

A couple of thunderstorms last night and we're back to fall weather.

Detroit could use some rain, humidity, and less wind.  They had a rather disastrous day Tuesday, with multiple fires, each taking out multiple buildings.  They don't call for outside help often, but had to do so yesterday, as there wasn't enough fire apparatus to cover their needs.

One place referred to forest fire high danger conditions, without the forest.  NWS issued a red flag warning for the entire area of SE Michigan.

More chores.  Maybe the bottom of the toilet will show up today.

Good morning all!

What a nice morning it is. I can tell that fall is setting on very fast. Grain is flying into the elevators left and right. I think I counted 56-grain trucks that came into the elevator in our town.  Looks to be a good harvest. Thumbs Up

Mostly clear blue skies.....Sunshine pouring in my east window here....It is working south, for sure.

About 58 earlier this morning, but expected to get nice and warm and of course, low humidity.  The wet stuff is about finished for this season.  But no rain....extremely dry.

Still expecting to see some rain from the weather system that worked or is working thru and north from Texas, and then it will be moving west to east....But this morning seeing it's projected path, I now wonder if the most of it will be a bit north of us.  We do need some of that rain.
