I am scheduled for some tests Monday and can't eat anything after midnight, which for a hungry guy like me is a real bummer.

For those of you who are not Facebook friends and haven't seen my posts there, Tom and I are sorta in the same boat, except that I can eat tomorrow and have to abstain after midnight tomorrow night.  The probe in my case is going up a smaller conduit- the femoral artery.  Tom, I hope that both our procedures turn out just fine.

Tom, I feel for you. I have had too many such experiences in the last few months. My last one was on Feed the Fed Day; even though I was not going into deep sleep , I was not allowed to take anything P. O. (per mouth) from midnight until after lunch time (noon or a little later procedure to remove a gynocomastia). I trust that you are referring to midnight Sunday night, and not tonight.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!  We have a current temp of 43 degrees, going for a high of 63 today.  Definitely going to be jacket weather again today.  But at least it won't be as breezy/windy as it was yesterday.

Mookie, thanks so very much for putting the coffee on!  You are and have always been a great help around here, along with Joe, Mutt, Ray, Tom, Larry, and Dan!  What would I do without you all here?!?!  Let us hope that I never have to find out!!

For our Sunday breakfast:  bagels, bear claws, pecan rolls, cinnamon rolls.

If any of you have any suggestions for our Sunday Dinner, let me know, and I'll get started with the preparations.

Enjoy your Sunday morning, and be careful and take care going to Church, work, and out railfanning.

I have an apology to make for this morning:  forgot to wish Mookie and other moms who come in here every once in a while:  HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!  Kathi Kube, Nora, Nance7330, to name a few)

Since no one has been in, and therefore could not give me any meal suggestions for today, here is what I have come up with:

1.  Roast beef w/potatoes and carrots, green beans, corn, broccoli w/cheese sauce and garden salad

2.  Meat loaf w/mashed taters, green beans, corn, broccoli w/cheese sauce and garden salad

3.  Leftover pizzas from last night

4.  Leftover chicken & dumplings

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!!

If anyone wants to know, God has answered some prayers for my family. My brother Tim had been hospitalized last week to remove a blockage from one of the major arteries in his heart. But while he was on the operating table he went into full cardiac arrest. The medical staff ended up putting him under heavy sedation and he was hooked up to a ventilator.

One of my sisters called me within the last hour and informed me that Tim woke up late this morning, and is talking. So that is a good sign! I definitely think God answers prayers! I will be going up to the hospital after 5:00 with my sister and her husband to see my brother.Smile,Wink, & Grin

That is indeed good news - and news that we wouldn't have been able to hear 40 years ago.  Medicine has made tremendous progress in many areas.

Then again, it's had to.  We're living longer and keep running into diseases and medical conditions that weren't a part of everyday life back then.

Here's hoping he suffers no deficits and enjoys a full recovery.

Ray, we too believe Prayer can help everyone.  And in this case we pray the Lord is present, and the skill of the medical team will bring your brother around with a full recovery.

Yes indeed, G-D does hear and answers when we cry out to him.

Brian, thanks for the good wishes, and the same to you. Actually, I can't eat anything today either. My procedure is scheduled for 1130 Monday, and can't eat anything till it's finished. Phooey!

Good Monday morning.  We have 47 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high of 67.    Should see plenty of sunshine today.  Then tonight, the rain comes in, for the next week.

Brian and Tom, sending prayers your ways today, for a safe outcome to your procedures!  Ray, glad to know that your brother is awake; I hope and pray that things continue to improve for him.

Randy, so very sorry to hear about your grandmother.  Our condolences to you and your family.  Take care.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, biscuits & gravy, cantaloupe and pineapple slices.

Everyone try to have a very good day and take care.

Randy, my condolences to you over the loss of your grandmother. I wish I could be there to lphysically lend you my support in one way or another.

I went up to the Heart Hospital yesterday after 5:00 pm to see my brother, and he looked pretty rough - Tim loooked like he had gone a whole week without any sleep. On top of all this the doctors have told him and his wife that his heart is so badly damaged that there is nothing more they can do for him. How much time he's got left or how much longer he will live, God only knows. I am hoping and praying that God will allow him to have some quality time with his brothers and sisters before He sends His squadron of Angels to escort him home. But my brother did wake up yesterday, and he is talking, so that is at least a start, and a good sign as well.

Well, since it looks like things are on the slow side  in here today, here's the menu for the rest of the day:

Burgers, cheeseburgers w/fries or chips and garden salad.

I'm getting ready to head to the grocery in a little bit, to get some food in, hopefully for the rest of the month.  Hmmmm, food for 21 more days.  Hope I can manage it!

Everyone have a good afternoon, and take care.

Thanks for all the prayers and wishes so far, everyone.  Looks as if I will be extending my vacation until at least Wednesday, parents are still planning the funeral arrangements.  Parents are taking it hard, me, not so much, never did when grandfather Jerry died in 1993, either.

Cool here today, forecast high to be near 60, rain moving in tonight for rest of week.  Come to think of it, rained when grandpa died too.....

Huh, things one remembers sometimes.  Think I'll go watch the CN mainline for a while.......

Greetings from the Mercy Medical Center Hilton. Big Smile  My anatomy now contains one arterial stent, and the view from my window is much improved over the one at home.

Randy - my condolences.

Hilton is running medical centers now?

The wonders of medical technology.  Had today's cardiac technology existed in 1962, my father would probably still be with us.

Brian - Glad to hear everything went well. You can see some trains from the window, I understand?

Randy: You and your family are in my prayers.

Major tornado outbreak in Kansas this afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, it's rainy and only 49 degrees here in Omaha. What a start to summer vacation!

Less than a week until my family and I go on vacation to Arizona. We'll be riding the Southwest Chief from Kansas City to Flagstaff and then making a circle-ish tour of Arizona before heading back. Should be fun, especially seeing the Grand Canyon and visiting a friend from Creighton in Tucson.

Well, I survived the procedure rather well, I think. The Dr is a very nice young man and wants me to come back for another try in about a year. Nuff sed bout that!

It was good to get something to eat and drink after 36 hours. Now, for a nap

Willy, anything that moves on the rails through downtown CR cannot escape my vision.  Currently catching glimpses of local UP switcher jockeying cars around down by the Cargill plant on the south side.  Almost makes me wish I develop a relapse...

Got an extra ticket for the Southwest Chief?

Sigh Paula; with all the passings these few days past , I don't feel happy. All my folks and Shirl's  are gone. More than a few of our trucker friends are gone or slipping away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Diner folks who have family and friends who have gone on. Isn't it odd when we were younger we never thought much about this? We can be thankfull for the folks who are still with us. ~~~~ Respectfully , Jim & Shirl  Smile

Good Tuesday morning, folks.  We currently have 57 degrees and rain.  We'll have mostly rain this morning, turning into thundershowers this afternoon and tonight.  We have at least a 40% chance of some type of showers/t-showers through the rest of the week.  It looks like Sarah got through with the grass cutting/weeding just in time!!

I'm glad to hear that our patients came through their surgeries!  Just remember, you two, to follow doctor's orders, and listen to your nurses and better halves!  They will all keep you on the right track.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  BLTs , bagels, bear claws, sausage, oatmeal and toast.

If any of you have any requests for today, just let me know, and I'll get started on it, after I get back from Produce.

Everyone have a very good morning, keep dry if you're in the areas getting rain, and everyone take care.

Good morning- it's 39 degrees here in Sioux Falls and kind of wet here, it had been raining here all night last night. Today we have a 30% chance of rain showers and tomorrow we have a 70% chance of rain showers. I mowed my own yard the night before last and I'm glad I got it done.

I'll be off to see my own doctor in a couple hours, and I'm looking forward to this visit, but on the other hand, I'm not!!

I hope the rest of yo all have a very good day!
