Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  I definitely don't like asparagus, and can barely tolerate mushrooms, as to me, the mushrooms don't have much of a taste to them, no matter how you fix them.

Mookie, glad to hear that Joe is just letting his finners rest. But, you know this 'mother hen' around here:  I want everyone to be around.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And there's hot water on for our tea drinkers.  On the serving station this morning:  How about some blueberry muffins and some apple/cinnamon muffins, along with the bagels, bear claws, and the rest of our regular breakfast items?

Our current temp is in the low 60s, and we're going for a high around 78 degrees this afternoon.  Aparently, we got a little bit of that dreaded R word overnight:  I looked out the kitchen window on my way to the computer, and the street is wet.

Everyone enjoy your breakfast and your morning.  I'll see you all later, after I get through with the Tuesday Produce.  You all take care!

Here you go Mook.  I've actually been hittin' that stuff lately.  Aedan's cutting teeth which means we're not sleeping much.  Couple that with switching back to 1st shift for me and 2nd shift for Misty...not fun.

Clear, sunny, and 47 this morning.  Not a bad way to start the day...but I'd rather be just waking up now instead of being up for 4 hours already...sigh...this will pass.  Looking forward to plasma appointment today...maybe they'll let me nap!

Peace be with you. 72 and light misting rain in Carolina. Headed for the 90s and a thunderstorm later this morning, according to the boffins. The heavy weather passed to the west of us yesterday, and hopefully this storm will too. Not too much to offer at this time, so will see yall later. Everyone take care

Have to pick mushrooms off pizza to make it edible if it happens to be part of it.

Beautiful morning in central Indiana....Sunny, and clear blue sky.  Mid 50's early this morning...Going to about 80.  Humidity, not an issue yet.

Financial weekness in Greece is once again hitting the stock market hard this morning.

Must go out with the new edger / trimmer and sharpen up the driveway edges also along the side walk, after my mowing {again}, yesterday.

Congratulations to our law inforcement structure to capture that would be Times Square bomber, before he escaped.  Sounds like a clean quick job on the part of the enforcers

Produce went well this morning.  We had 54 people show up today, plus a couple of scragglers who came in about 9:45.  We got cantaloupe, green beans, cabbage, broccoli that has seen better days (it had yellow stems and the heads were turning purple), and bags of shredded iceburg lettuce.

Our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta is now on the serving station.  You can fix your own tacos, burritos, fajitas and chimichangas; there's also Spanish rice, lettuce & tomatoes, sour cream, guacomolie dip, along with picante sauce, thick & chunky salsa and tortilla chips.

Dan, hope you and Misty survive the baby's tooth cutting time.  Hope you have a good supply of teethers stashed in the freezer.

Everyone have a great afternoon, and take care.

Mornin from Carolina. 62 and fog a half hour before sunrise. The boffins promise nearly 90 and sun for the next few days. We missed all the rain. The first wave passed to the west, the second to the east and left us high and dry.

It looks like the crowd was down a bit last night, so hopefully things will pick up today. Mookie, here is your mug, coffee that is. The standard fare is on the bar, so everyone dig in and enjoy.

Everyone have a great day and stay safe.

Nothin' like some tornados to liven things up like last night.  No watches were issued then BAM, sirens going off!  I was a mile or two away from 'ground zero' of the first storm - when it generated the first funnel clouds - driving back towards it!  Got some neat pictures and from the reports heard this morning only minor damage to a couple structures and no serious injuries or worse.  Those straight line winds and horizontal rain though...pretty spectacular!  Not quite like in '08 when I was less than a quarter mile from a tornado on the ground.  That one happened to be behind the 'rain shadow' and quite visible from where I was - moving away from me.

Thanks CW, we have plenty of 'nuks' chilling and waiting for the little guy.

Don't let those 'shrooms' stay in your inbox for too long...they may ferment and make a virus!

Good Wednesday morning, everyone, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to all of us here in the Flat Wheel, formerly Depot Diner & Coffee Shop!!  Can anyone remember when Jim Haguewood started this?  Was it 2004?  And also, Happy Birthday to myself.  Turned 58 about 2 hours and 20 minutes ago.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.

On the serving station this morning:  made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes w/maple syrup, turkey bacon, pork sausage links & patties and fresh cantaloupe chunks.

Later on, around noon time and supper time, you'll have your choice of chocolate cake w/chocolate icing, German chocolate cake (both my favorites), with the ice cream flavor of your choice.

I'll probably be heading to the grocery after awhile, and buying mix and icing for make my own German chocolate cake here at home.

Not too sure, just yet, what we'll be eating for lunch and supper.  Anybody have any ideas for me?  ( I know what I'd like to have, here at home, but not sure the Mutt would agree to it:  chicken & dumplings.)

Everyone have a great morning, and take care.

Happy Happy CW.  You picked a lovely day in May to celebrate your special day - at least in Nebraska.  Cool but sunny!

Still pasting the Driver together every morning to send him off to work.  Friday will be the last day of pasting.  We get up and go thru the hip, back, leg, shoulder, fingers routine then try to get dressed without bending over too much.  Figured out that is why married men live longer than singles.  They have help putting it altogether in the mornings.  With singles, an arm or leg would fall off and no one to retrieve it!

Taking CW out to the porch and our favorite rocking chairs.  Have some new books to share with her.  Maybe we can talk one of the patrons into reading to us!  Laugh

I saw those storms on radar last night and was wondering how you were doing. Glad there wasn't any significant damage. You don't suppose you could share those pictures?

Happy Birthday CW!! Happy B-Day Mookie is right. It is a great day for a birthday, in Nebraska anyway. Really nice morning.

Happy Birthday to CW!!  Happy B-Day

Louisville Metro Police and their Bomb Squad got called to NS's Youngtown yard here in the city yesterday afternoon on a very suspicious item close to some of the tracks there.....PVC pipe wrapped in black electrical tape. After 2 or 3 hours they determined that it wasn't a bomb, or anything else that was dangerous.

Interesting photo's of Cincinnati's 80+ year old subway that never was:

Saw BNSF GP40R #3001 out on the Golden branch with fresh H2 paint...Looks a little odd in use as a switch engine (my, have the mighty fallen!)

Lurk away Joe.....

Thank you to all of you, who have wished me a Happy Birthday, so far.  And, so far, it's been a really pleasant one:  got a card and a Debbie Macomber book from Walt, and got a phone call from Sarah a little over an hour ago (I had just gotten back from the grocery, bank and post office), wishing me a Happy Birthday.

Mookie, I thoroughly enjoyed our time in the rockers and our talk this morning!

For our lunch, there are both bologna & cheese sandwiches and roast beef, lettuce, tomato sandwiches.

Supper tonight will be:

1.  Chicken & dumplings w/mixed veggies

2.  Sauteed steak w/cream of mushroom soup, salad and mixed veggies.

Dessert hasn't changed:  Chocolate cake w/chocolate icing, and German chocolate cake w/coconut/pecan icing, with whatever flavor ice cream you want (think I'll go with either vanilla or butter pecan).

See everyone later!!

Have no fear, Mookie and Tom:  we still have several birthdays around here this month, at least two that I have marked on my calendar:  Cannonball Jim's, next Wednesday and Brian Hanels on the 28th!  (plus a couple of other birthdays that I know of, next Monday and Tuesday.)

The serving station has been refreshed and replenished, so there's more of everything on it.  Enjoy and I'll try to pop in again later.

B'days seem to come so fast now....{for me}.....But the alternative is another story.

CW.....Hope you had a good pleasant day on your special one.

Trivia:

Just a comment on the rare extreme flooding in Nashville....Noted a pic this evening on the Evening News taken inside the Opryland Hotel complex in Nashville....in the "Cascades" area, where the big water fall is....There is an area in there with a round bar with an "old south" decor canaopy like, around and over it.  Noted the water was half way up over it....I never dreamed water could get to the Hotel let alone that high inside that area.....

Heard the 3,000 room hotel / convention center will be closed up to 3 months, maybe longer....Awesome flooding.  The hotel / convention center is a Gaylord function.

Interesting photo's of Cincinnati's 80+ year old subway that never was:

Looks like rails are still in place in some areas of it....Was it never completed and used at all....?  Interesting.

Not a very safe looking environment for "civies, tourists, etc., to be moving around in without a lighting system.

Happy Birthday, Paula, hope you had a good one.....

Tore down my two Kato locomotives today, drilled and tapped new holes for better coupler mounting screws, the originals were a pain to get out.  Relubed and reassembled my WC 6001, it is running on roller stands right now getting broken in.  Layout is slowly coming along as well.....

Thanks for dinner, off to bed.....

Whistling Quentin; maybe those nice folks who wanted to go to the convention center could take the train to Phoenix . I see the convention center  is available. Possibly at reduced rates even. LOL   ~~~~  Cannonball   Sign - Oops
