Welcome to the Flat Wheel Cafe/Diner to switch123, and krump Sign - Welcome!  We always love to get  new people in here.  Hope to see you in here often.

Switch123, the cat has been busy elsewhere, probably with grandson?  Hopefully, she'll be back in here one of these days.

Here's our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu for tonight:

1.  Canadian bacon

2.  Cheese w/extra cheese

3.  Goetta

4.  Hawaiian

5.  Pepperoni/mushroom

6.  Supreme

7.  Italian sausage

8.  Italiaian sausage calzones

Walt (Mutt) and I have been busy in this kitchen all afternoon:  I was making up the pizzas for tonight, and he was busy making a very large batch of his spaghetti casserole for tomorrow (now you all know what will be on the serving station tomorrow for Sunday Dinner)!

We topped out temp wise today in the mid to upper 50s.  But we have some rain showers coming in sometime after midnight, and will continue through at least the morning hours.  May clear up and see some sunshine tomorrow afternoon.

Everybody enjoy your pizzas, have a good evening, keep safe, stay warm and take care.

Gotta get ready for the train show in Utica and hit the road.

I see the hedge trimmers were in overnight.  There'll be a few folks miffed over that.

One bearclaw and tea, please.   For the road!.

Morning CW, Morning Larry

Last night was awful weather wise! The fog was so thick I couldn’t see the phone poles beside the road. It was really terrible.

Larry, safe travels to the train show!

I’ll have a donut and some coffee w/cream.

Have a good day!’

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Joe, I hope Matt feels better.  Colds seem to be the norm:  I have one, Walt has/had one, and Uba (female cat) had one; now, Trapper (male cat) is sneezing quite a bit.  I think Sarah and Win (the dog) are the only ones in the house who haven't had a cold.

Coffee, juices, and hot beverages are all ready to go.  And on the serving station this morning:  hot cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven, and hot blueberry, strawberry and bran muffins.

Everyone have a very good morning, stay warm, keep safe and take care.

Good afternoon, all.  I see Ms. Mook started a new post!  It's good to see her back.

Walt's spaghetti casserole w/garden salad and Italian bread is now on the serving station.  There's also some tea (hot, cold, sweet and unsweet), coffee, and whatever soft drink you might want, in the cooler.  (How do you all like that antique soft drink cooler chest?)

I think I'm going to try to take a little walk.  It's been so long, my feet will probably start protesting immediately.

Good Monday morning, all.  Gee, no one was in here yesterday afernoon and last night?!?!  Well, I've gotten everything cleaned up and thrown away on the serving station.  Now, it's loaded with breakfast menu items.  And the morning drinks as well:  coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea.

We starting this morning off with 30 degrees, and some fog.  Supposed to get to 50 degrees for a high today.

Hopefully, the heating/cooling crew will be here this morning.  I've got your lunch/supper in Crock Pots/Slow Cookers:  Spaghetti & meatballs in a couple of them, and pork chop abracadbra in the other two.

Everyone enjoy your breakfast, your morning, stay warm, keep safe and take care.

And another week of toil and drudgery begins. Is it time for spring break yet?? I think my mood would be greatly improved if we could just see a little sunshine around here for once.

Mookie, welcome back!

Spent yesterday at the toy train show in Utica (and enjoyed the real trains as well, plus that side show detailed over in the Lounge), then went home by way of Syracuse with at stop for dinner with my daughter and her husband, and especially my eight month old grandson.

Grandson has learned to indicate that he's had enough to eat by waving his hands in front of him.  Last night he demonstrated that said sign has other applications as well.

As we were finishing our meal at the restaurant, a woman came by and started fawning over grandson.   And fawning, and fawning.  At first grandson was fine with it, but finally decided enough was enough and gave the "enough" sign.  The woman didn't pick up on it, but my daughter and SIL did, and told the woman he was tired (also true, but..) and she went on her way.

Gotta give kids credit - sometimes they're smarter than we think they are!

Good afternon. I have spent most of the day monitoring an emergency net for signals out of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. There has been very little traffic from Haiti since the quake, and none today so far. There was a chopper crash there this morning injuring Americans, but no reported fatalities. There was also another quake, 6.0 offshore Guatemala around noon eastern time. Hammercy, they are happening all over. Sunny and 63 degrees at present here. Everyone take care

I see the color option is working tonight on our IE browser!  That's a nice change from the last several days.

Still no heat yet, in the house.  They got all the duct work done, and the vents in the floors.  So when they come out in the morning, guess it'll be time to put the furnace into place, get it connected, etc.,  We are still working on the cleanup from today.  Had to wash down practically the entire kitchen, and vacuuming all over the house, from their construction/destruction? debris.

I honestly cannot tell which of the /Crock Pots/Slow cookers have seen the most taken out of them today.  It looks about even to me.

Right now, I'm thinking I'll start signing in the people for Produce, then come back home when I see the workmen come in at 9.

Everyone have a good evening, stay warm, keep safe and take care.

CW, thanks for supper! I’m sorry that you have no heat! I hope that they get everything hooked up tomorrow. I’m also sorry you had to do all the vacuuming. Here is a nice warm cup of hot coco for you, to sit down and enjoy!

Had a good day at school today. Light’s flickered during lunch. Our school has a really bad electrical problem once in a while.

Other than that the day was great.

What do you guy’s think of the new map feature on the main site? Pretty gnarly huuu?

Have a good evening all.

Justin

Ate a peanut this morning.

Actually ate a couple of them.  Had to shell them.  These are the same ones that we put out for the squirrels.

The bluejays also eat them, which brings me to my point.

It took both hands and a little lip biting to get into those peanuts without dropping them into the sink.  (I make a mess if I try to eat them not over the sink)

Ever watch a bluejay eat in-shell peanuts?  They have no opposable thumbs; don't even have hands.  Just a long beak and claw feet.

So how do they ever get a slippery peanut out of the shell and into their mouths without dropping them?  Add in perched on a slanted roof or hanging onto a tree limb.....

Or do they just drop them all on the ground and hope nothing the size of a cat goes for it or them? Or another bluejay just waiting?

A little life mystery.....

Thank you for all the nice welcomes.  It is good to be back among friends and even a few not-so-friendlies.  Makes life interesting!

I slept in this morning and I noticed that CW so far has not been in here yet, so I will take charge of serving breakfast this morning. The grill is hot and I've got bacon frying and I can do eggs anyway you might like them. We've got blueberry pancakes, waffles, hot maple syrup, cinnamon rolls, donuts and bear claws. The coffee is about finished brewing and I've mixed a fresh batch of orange juice.

It's nice to see Mookie back in here, you've been MIA for a while, kid. I've never like blue jays, and my grandmother who used to live on a farm was quite adept at blasting them out of trees with a 410 shotgun. Blue jays are carniverous birds and they will eat other birds, especially baby birds.

We have foggy conditions here in Sioux Falls, and all the trees in my neighborhood are frosted over. I think I will take my Nikon FE and do a little bit of outdoor photography later this morning. Right now we have a temp of 10 degrees F above 0.

I would like to apologise for the 3*s in my post description of our supper. The word police are on the job. Iwonder if parsnip soup would get the same ??  If someone studied my screen name, maybe it would be cause for a drone to take me out. If I offended some one forgive me as I am " of a certain age"

Evening all.

I see the café has rolled backward into the dark corners of the forum. Luckily I grabbed onto the hand break, and tightened it right up until we got a loco. to push it back to the sunny side of the forum. All beter now.

I hope you all have a good evening.

BNSF Kitty, glad to see you back!Wink

So who exactly don't you find friendly?

Personally I like all y'all...

I don't feed peanuts - I limit my contribution to black oil sunflower seeds, some nyjer thistle, and a cake of suet (love those woodpeckers).

But...  The only birds that don't shell the sunflower seeds are the jays - and I think they just take a bunch of them elsewhere to shell them.  The chickadees, however, will grab a seed, fly to a nearby branch, and shell it there.  I've never really watched them closely, so I don't know how many they actually drop in the process.

I guess I'll have to pay attention one of these days.

They are hungry little things.  I have a Yankee feeder and two platform feeders for the sunflower.  They generally "drain" the one furthest from the house in a matter of hours after I dump a half gallon container of seed on it...
