Where IS everyone?!?!?!

Who's cooking today, and who's serving customers??

If I'm left to cook today, it's meatloaf and corn on the cob day!!

Who will join me in cooking and/or baking, and what are you preparing?[:p][}:)]

got any mashed potatoes to got witht that meatloaf and corn on the cob?

Okay, we'll add mashed potatoes, and maybe some shelly beans with onions in them. And Noah, you'll be in charge of the cornbread (be sure to add buttermilk,
instead of regular milk: makes the cornbread taste better!)

Who's fixing dessert?! I can't do everything here: we ALL need help!!

I supose I could make cornbread muffins or something like that, I could do deviled eggs too. If you don't mind scrambled eggs I can do that, and I could do grilled cheese sandwitches, grilled in a pan with lots of butter on the toast. I'm going to help the propietor, Jim, to fix the Coffee shop up, so I'm going to try to figure something out, but My brain has been fried lately so I don't know if I will think of anything or not.

Busy getting ready for the first of a round of HS graduation parties. Free eats and beverages, offset by gifts. Oh well.

I can live on biscuits and sausage gravy. [:p] [:p] [:p]

Chicken gravy is pretty good too, especially when my dad makes it. [;)]

His southern fried chicken is "to die for". Sunday lunches after church, cooked by dad while mom and I were at church, were really good. [:D]

Tonight I am having a family size can of Cream of Mushroom Soup. I might do good pizza for work tomorrow night.

We heard a rumor from day shift today that we would not have a day off all summer. I don't really believe that rumor but I wouldn't put it past our management. That is ok, because where I work if we get a summons for jury duty our work pays us our regular hourly page then keeps our jury duty pay. Guess who just got summoned for jury duty? Yelp, me. [:(] So that is a mixed blessing if you know what I mean. Personally I think we should hang them all but I might just be a little too old fashioned. What do you think?

Do love biscuits and sausage gravy, but can't live by that alone.

How about some chicken stir fry, courtesy of Betty Crocker's Chicken Helper? That's
what we've had the last two nights. (As the Campbell's Soup kids say, "Uum Uum Good"!!

Well, I'm on my first day of freedom around here, been pretty nice to. Got to ride in the cab again last night about 4 miles down the main line to the next town, where my mom and dad picked me up. It was really nice because I got to see alot of things nobody else, except for railroad workers, have ever seen, including a fairly large bridge where nobody else can get to by road.

Dave, For me it's whenever I wake up, which is usually about 7:30 now that schools out, for breakfast, 11 or 11:30 for lunch, and 5, 5:30 for supper. I snack when ever I feel hungry when I'm around home, but for sure around 3:30 because that's when I get home from school.

I'm catching up after missing several days visiting this topic, so if someone has already answered this forgive me. In connection with the dimensions of Noah's Ark, someone asked what a "cubit" is. Unless senility has totally fried my brain, it's the distance from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger. On me, that's about 18 inches, but I have ape arms.

There was some talk of interesting place names. Mississippi sure has its share - Tishomingo, Itawamba and Neshoba counties, and the towns of Itta Bena and Yazoo City. There are plenty more, I just can't remember them right now.

Dave - I live in beef country - so we eat a lot of chicken.

But as for strange things - I can't eat cottage cheese without a tsp of sugar on it. Gags the driver, but he puts pepper on it and salt on his apples - icky!!!!!! [xx(]

Around here the WSOR has two names for the train that comes up my way that I here on the scanner. The one they use most often is "night train". I have also heard "the Reedsburg Rocket" because the line is the Reedsburg to Madison WI sub.

Talk about Montezuma. Here we can go to places (all on the railroad, too) such as Duck, Mudsuck, Black Eagle and Rum Jct. (sounds like a model rr name). One of my favorite local place names is Hoo Hoo Holler (love hearing that on the school bus announcements in the winter).

Let's open up another thread.

How about "inside" names for different runs on the rr? I recall the "Scarlet Shifter" and the "Big Mac" on the C&O, and a job on the New Haven called the "Midnight Horror." How about in your part of the country?

BTW - Sun's out here today after we got hammered (again) with high winds and sheets of "partly cloudy with a chance of scattered showers" at quitting time yesterday. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

work safe

Mike - I agree - peanut butter is good, but, I have to admit, I prefer it smooth.

What about raisin toast Mike? That's quite a hit down here! [:)] Raisin toast with plenty of butter! yum! [:p][:p][:)]

I used to LOVE raisin bread: especially with vanilla icing spread over the top of the loaf.
Can't find it that way anymore[:(]. It's all PLAIN raisin bread[:(]
Probably cuz the frosting melted in the toaster and shorted it out. OSHA, you know!
