- hmmm - this edge seems to need cleaning.  Will just kick this "whatever" back over.  Don't know how it got here.  Must have come while I was busy putting a band-aid on my boo-boo from falling on the ice.

Ah - much neater!

Joe - I will keep you in mind as soon as find a place for a curio!  As Carl & Ed can tell you - it would have to be nailed to the ceiling!

Okay, I made it back to post the lunch menu.  Sorry about being a little late, but Mutt was on the computer.

 On today's FRIDAY FISH MENU:

1.  cod
2.    perch
3.    halibut

Also, I've got some tuna fillets that I will be grilling on the large George Foreman table grill, and we have the usual sides of hushpuppies, fries, and cole slaw.

Also, for dessert, I've made another chocolate cake, and peach cobbler, and a blueberry pie.

ENJOY, EVERYONE!!

Good morning but I really need a big mug of hot chocolate after this:

http://cbs13.com/topstories/local_story_342104540.html

That truck impact happened at my next door neighbor. Shock [:O] If the driver had just swerved two yards to the right the truck would have run up the lawn of MY house and rammed head-on the trees on the west end of our property.

Speeding???  Looks like the driver was doing a little more than 5 over when he hit the wall.  Picture shows  just a couple of feet of truck on the outside.

Good thing nobody was hurt.  Though it would be nice if the driver got a major hurt on his pocket book.

The local police estimated the impact speed at around 50 miles per hour. Shock [:O] Not only did it take out the wall where the truck initially impacted but also hit an inner wall in the house. Cost of repair could exceed US$15,000. Sigh [sigh]

Ms. Mook,

Tremendous apologies for not wishing you 'alles Gute zum Geburtstag' yesterday.  I'm sending you a custom made scratching post/heated hammock and some home made death by chocolate fudge.

That 'house call' would be one heck of a way to wake up!  I think that in Green Bay, WI a while back a van hit a store, breaking the side wall open.  On the plywood the owner painted "Store open: drive thru closed"!

Angry [:(!]  I am on my way out of the diner to go have my teef sharpened.....

I'll be bahk!  And then Dan and Brian will be in deep trouble on Monday.  There had better be a lot of great offerings to the "keep kitty happy" shrine left in the corner at that time or there will be all sorts of "problems".

All righty, I've got a fresh batch of fish, fries and hushpuppies in the fryers for our supper tonight.  Also have corn on the cob boiling on the stove top.

And, there's plenty of desserts left for tonight.

rappels down from ceiling//I'll come down for now...I didn't think I was doing wrong by helping.  I thought that the cake, heated hammock, and scratching post would be enough of an apology!  Maybe I'd better make myself scarce for a while...like until 2007!

I'll make about 50 lbs of fudge and leave some catnip next to it in a shaker on the counter!  Sorry kitty!

Upon further reflection...I'm going to hide on the ceiling until the 'All Clear' is given!  I fear that this may occur:

Good Saturday morning!  Looks like we're going to warm up today!!  It's currently 20 degrees F., and we're to reach a high in the 40s today, then tomorrow, we're to up around 50 degrees F.

For breakfast this morning, you will find on the breakfast warmer bar:  turkey bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits, scrambled eggs, hash browns, tater tots, hot oatmeal, toast, grits,  and western omelettes.

With a breakfast like that, you all should have enough energy for all your errands you'll be running around to get done, along with any Christmas shopping you're wanting to do, and railfanning.   So, have a great day, and be careful and safe out there!!

No time for railfanning here, which is too bad, since our weather promises to be just as good as yours.  I'm off to practice our Christmas concert with the church choir, which we'll be doing two performances of tomorrow morning.  Should be a good one, since our director has good ties with members of the Cedar Rapids Symphony, and we wind up with at least a 20-piece orchestra accompanying us.Whistling [:-^]
