Coffee Chat:

June 24

1817 The first coffee is planted in Hawaii, on the Kona coast.

1938 A 500-ton meteorite lands near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

1980 The first horse to win $2 million, Affirmed, wins the $500,000 Hollywood Cup.

From the This Day In History website.

Hey it REALLY is coffee chat. [;)]

Larry has watched me during quiet time - I have it down to a fine art - can sleep sitting straight up and not break my neck. One of the first requirements of working on an engine. Sit in a sorta comfy seat - cool day, warm sun on you, waiting for the word to go, and [zzz]

Joe, locomutt has just about every tool possible. But he really needs to see an
oral surgeon, and go ahead and get his lower teeth all pulled. But first, he has
to go to the dentist, and have them refer him to an oral surgeon.

Jim, I used to eat chilli without all the spices. Stomach could not handle it. Found
out that the spicier chilli set better on the old stomach. Weird, huh?

Not quite as spicy.
And our chilli has BOTH meat and beans in it!

I actually do like chili but just not spicy hot.

I was hoping Scott would deliever it. Do they have a 30 minutes or free guarantee? [;)] [:D]

I use very little seasonings. I like the natural taste. Of course some things require a little salt, pepper, or whatever. But I go lightly on all the spices.

Larry,

Would you at least settle for "box alarm" chilli[?][:)][:p]

And I believe I CAN relate to the other.

That sounds like the ticket!

Coffee Shop Chat:

From the "This Day In History" website:

June 23

930 A.D. The world's oldest parliament, the Iceland Parliament, is established.

1868 Christopher Latham Sholes patents a "Type-writer," which Philo Remington later turns it into a more practical typewriter.

1969 Warren E. Burger is sworn in as Supreme Court Chief Justice by his predecessor, Earl Warren.

Now Mookie knows who to blame for that dadblasted typewriter. [}:)] [;)]

Devil, as in deviled eggs, Walter.

I'm healthy enough, but also know that I'm packing too much excess baggage. I'm sure that some of the stuff I eat is not good for losing weight, but I've been surprised at some of what I've been able to get along without. Additional exercise would help, but I'm having too much fun in this virtual diner and elsewhere on the computer. However, we spent an hour today picking strawberries (not very good...toward the end of the season), I mowed the lawn (the only power our mower has is when I push it), and walked about a mile to home from the train station.

Are you SURE about the first part[?][}:)]

I admire you for doing what you know is good for your health!
