Thanks Quentin - I'll check out that post. NZ is reasonably close for me here on the east coast - just across the pond (Tasman Sea that is)

Quentin - we had a brililant full moon last night! (Monday night) [:)]

Everything was bathed in a silvery light.

And it's a blue moon! Second full moon in a calender month! Doesn't happen very often.

Modelcar and Blue Ridge Front, it's similar down here. It's up to each State down here whetehr they go over to Daylight Saving Time or not when Summer rolls around.
SO we have quite a mess. ha ha

On the east coast, Queensland doesn't adopt Summer time, but New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania do. Western Australia doesn't over on the west coast. So we end up with 5 different time zones in Oz during summer instead of 3. Good grief!

It's Morning Tea (coffee break) [:p] [:)] time down here, I've just gone to the notice board in the Diner, and found Mookie's note! [:)]

Mook, 3pm (let's say Monday afternoon) your time would be, I think, 7am Wednesday morning down here. [;)]

I've calculated that on what both Noah and Quentin have told me about U.S time zones. East Coast Oz time is 15 hours ahead of East Coast U.S. time, then I added another hour for you mid-west lot Mookie. [;)]

As I type, it's 10:45 am (Wed) so that's maybe 6:45pm Tuesday evening.

I think I'll have to put all this one back on the Diner notice board for Mook - I think I've missed her...

Well, I've honestly never read any of her books, and I can't say that I've met her either. Although seeing her picture on a website I checked a second ago, I do believe I've seen her around somewhere. Those glasses...

Blue Ridge Front, have you ever met her? I think that would be great,
to get to meet at least one of your favorite authors (although you didn't
say if you like and or read her books). Do you read them?

Talking about YumYum and Ko Ko again, I've just bought a new book in the "Cat Who" series [:)] - this one is a white cover (Headline is the publisher for our stock down here - don't know who the U.S publisher would be) and it's called "the Cat Who Talked Turkey"

The cover has a picture of Ko Ko (presumably) staring at a large turkey. I've only just started reading it but it looks like another good yarn [:)] heh heh [;)] [:)]

A new bookstore in Pickaxe to replace the one that was destroyed, and a suspicious death at Mr Q's cabin by the lake......"the plot thickens"....."the game's afoot Watson"

Mook, Walt and Paula - have you seen this one?

Dave

[:)]Haven't read that one, yet. I am definately looking forward to it!!!

Think I'll also make some chicken pot pies and turkey pot pies. They'll make nice,
quick meals for those of us who are rushed for time, and can't and don't want a
regular full meal. [angel]

Mookie, I'll start baking some chocolate cakes this morning for you and the rest of
us in the diner. Will also make some yellow cake with caramel icing for Jim: if he
decides to pop in for a quick visit, it'll be here for him (if the rest of us don't eat it
up).

And when we can find the Cat Who books in paperback, we get them also. I think we
have two or three Cat Who paperbacks on one of the bookcases. [angel]

Paula, you've read my mind....hmmm...food..[:p]...it's coming up lunch time here downunder...and I have a real hankering for what a local coffee shop calls a spicy chicken wrap. [:p][:D][:p] Strips of chicken that has a mild chilli/spicey garnish with lettuce, tomato and mayo wrapped in soft Lebanese bread - I think that's similar to, say, a soft tortilla. [:)][:p]

If I have my timing right, you lot have just had supper? (wat we call dinner)[;)]

You've got that right, Larry: it's almost too d-----d hot to eat, period. And maybe
we'll put a little extra a la mode on each slice of pie: that'll cool you off,
hopefully. [angel]

I'll settle for a sandwich and chips, but blueberry and apple pie both sound good, so I'll have one of each, a la mode. To d______d muggy for hot food!

Okay, it's 11:00 Sunday morning. Who was supposed to start the coffee? I put
the pots on, and have breakfast going. Also working on dinner and supper. One of
the specials today is the "dreaded" chicken livers that some of you don't care for.

Other than that, we'll have the standard menu items. Other specials today will be:

roast beef sandwiches w/gravy
chili
beef stew
brautwurst and saur ***
green beans
corn
stewed tomatoes
hominy

Desserts will be: apple pie, cherry pie, peach pie, blueberry pie, chocolate pie, lemon
square bars, and pecan pie.
