Better make it a big grill! This is the most summerlike day we've had all year, and here it is September already. I am definitely looking forward to the taste of barbecue sauce on my dinner today.

(Speaking of that, one of the traditions of my union's local is a picnic on Labor Day for all railroaders and their families--plenty of hot dogs, Polish or Italian sausage, and Italian beef, root beer, draft beer, fun and games, etc. A picnic grove is rented for the day at a nearby Forest Preserve--nice place, with a large lake, walking and biking paths, and other amenities. It's entirely free, paid for by our dues. It's often attended by retirees and other former employees--a great way to stay in touch. I can't attend this year--ironically, I have to work on Labor Day, and so does my wife!)

Am trying to think of something really good today. Need some ideas, folks.

And Jim, don't worry: when or if you come over, I'll make sure Walt uses his Frito
Lay Doritos apron and not his Kiss the Cook apron.

It is not ok. Sorry to hear about it.

I appreciate all kinds of music with the exception of Opra. I guess you have to acquire that, and I never have.

Tonight I am trying to decide which to listen to:

1) Verdi Messa Di Requiem

OR

2) Beethoven Symphony # 5 in C minor OP67

Hard decision, I might have to listen to both. [:D]

It is not acceptable to put others down. Yes, we may disagree from time to time;
that's understandable: we're all human. But none of us should make anyone
else feel lower than a snake. I, for one, no matter who else cares, was interested
in that article. [:)]

Have a few beers and some pickled hard boiled eggs... Then go to the mall and see the dirty looks you get... It's a blast

Thanks Randy. I might do that later. I only know you through the forum but you seem to be a nice person who can cheer people up when they feel down. I'm glad you aren't the only one.

Hi there, whomever is in the diner. I've been out in the sun since 11:50, "manning"
a finger painting booth at our community Fun Health Fair. The kids were all cute,
making messes everywhere! Two of our city fire depts. each had a piece of apparatus
there. There was a female firefighter who was passing out the little plastic hats to
the little ones. She even gave me one to try to help keep the sun off me!!

Since I'm so tired and worn out, who is planning what for supper??

Junctionfan, it's not okay for people to put others down. Not only is it not okay, it
shows very poor manners. Some people get their thrills by putting others down.
Do you remember what the thread was? I'm not sure I even saw that particular
thread.

I'll also make biscuits and gravy to go along with the sausage! Joe, Walt might
like a couple of the blueberry pancakes.

Moo

Oddly, this dog will turn down some things, especially if there is no smell - I was honestly surprised when she ate the beets. She used to eat baby carrots, but will just drop them now, if you toss one to her...

This Tree spent vacation doing a little reading (on the lakeshore), but also sealed the driveway, printed some raffle tickets, got new tires on the truck, did some sailing, mowed, and slept in a lot...

Jim,
CONGRATS on the first test. Hope(I know you will)you do as well on 2nd,and 3rd.
Sounds like a heck of a buy on coffee, don't think we had that in our local area,or we would have taken advantage of that. Even if it was the small can, that's still a very good price.[:)]

You know - they put oatmeal in boxcars and add water and it blows the roof off - read it right here on the forum! So be careful!

Now I have to figure out why Mutt doesn't want to acknowledge the frilly apron. I rather think it is pretty - has little bunnies on it. Maybe he doesn't wear those bunny slippers I gave him any more?

Moo.....(snickering behind a paw)

Mookie: He's trying to pull the wool (fur) over everyone's eyes: He looks very good
in a frilly apron. You ought to see him in his Frito Lay Dorito apron. Very sexxxxy!

As far as the bunny slippers go, unfortunately the dog thought they were real rabbits
and ATE them!![:0][:p][}:)] [angel]

Hello Patrons, staff, and friends. [:D]

Just thought I would check in and make sure no one has burned down the diner. Nice to see all is well.

Well I finally got around to taking my first test (1 of 3). I missed one question and scored a 98. It was kinda nerve racking as it is an important test and highly monitored. Since it is an FAA test they have all kinds of safeguard against cheating and such. I was told before entering the testing room, "Don't even scratch . . . " auuuu well you know. [;)]

Now to get busy and study for test # 2.

Kroger had a coffee sale about 2 weeks ago. It was 10 cans for 10 bucks. I bought a variety of coffee to check them out. Now I know some people are more picky about their coffee than I am. But anyway, I used to buy a lot of the blue cans. But I think I like the red cans "Supreme Blend Coffee" better. They are only 13 ounce cans but I thought it was still a good deal.

I think I will have some biscuits and sausage gravy. Did I ever tell you people that I like biscuits and sausage gravy ( lol lol lol ). After that I think I will have a nice large bowl of oatmeal, got to balance out the "C" you know. [;)] I don't think my numbers are high, they were not last time they were checked. But as we "mature" we need to be more watchful about what we eat. Now pass the biscuits and sausage gravy. [;)] [:p] [:D]
