Mutt.....................Philadelphia doesn't sit back and "try" to brezze (sp) our way through things when it comes to sports, we actuall play the game too the fullest. Just say it Philly is better than Cincy period. Last season (Football) the Eagles killed the Bengals.....ahemm................I was at that game too. [:D][^] hehehe

Chirs it is pretty interesting and cool that you went and did some abandon house hunting yesterday. I was out walking abandon ROWs looking for some things to possibly take home w/ me like some swich locks, signs, and other things. Well, unfortunitly I didn't find anything but a whole buch of slag, coal, and tracks that were still in place. Oh I did find a caboose when in, didn't find anything. I think I'm going to go Abandoned ROW way walking more often.

Wow! Just as I left it last night. Coffee's on, donuts are under the glass cover on the counter (help yourself). Breakfast wraps are in the warmer.

Scattered showers hereabouts today - The folks in MA and NH are praying for a lot of sun. In an odd twist of fate, some localities there had issued water use advisories (as in, don't water outside, etc) just a week or so ago. Now they're measuring the total rainfall in double digits.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Larry, thank you for putting the coffee on, and
making the breakfast wraps. I've got the juice made.

I'll be back, after I get through with the Produce. Everyone have a great day.

Ah - a cuppa Joe and I am ready to go. (morning poetry!)

Had a nice experience last Friday afternoon. Driver picks me up from work about 2:30 and we go watch trains for about an hour before we go home.

Lady and middle school age son stopped by - said they saw us over there a lot and had a bet on. He thought we were there cuz we had a grandson that worked for the railroad and we would wait for him to go by so we could wave. Her curiosity got the better of her so she stopped to see if that was true. We laughed and told her the real reason we were there - the look on her face was "why would anyone sit and watch trains!" But she was very nice and we will wave to her the next time we see her. (even if she doesn't "understand".)

Counting down the days to Rochelle. Leave Friday afternoon and from there until the following Friday - where we are is anyone's guess (including us!) But I will try to absorb all of Rochelle so I can report when I get back for anyone not able to get there. Sounds like the rain will stop while we are there and will warm up a little.

If you decide at the last minute to go to Rochelle that weekend/week - look for someone that looks like her name should be Mookie and check all female left ears. I have a bear cuff on mine and while it isn't large - it is noticeable. At least I think it is. When I least expect it, someone comments on it. Always catches me off-guard - a real duh moment.
And don't stick your nose in some woman's ear and get your nose taken off.

Off to shake the crumbs out of the hammock.

Brian - Vegas has time?

Tree - at least the fire danger will be down for awhile - just maybe not in your area.
Being in the forum has definitely sparked an interest in the weather channel. I check out states all over now that I know someone that lives in the area.

Joe - found enough crumbs to make a whole muffin!

Good Morning All,

Well, 'Tis the last full day of work before I head out for Yellowstone NP. Sigh...this is always such a hard day. Keeping the mind from wandering too much is definately tough. Oh well...Can look forward to the shopping trip tonight to pick up a couple last minute bits here and there.

Went out yesterday to get another couple CF cards, and a smaller trail worthy backpack (my little one is about to go to backpack heaven, and I don't really need / want to carry every piece of equipment I own on the trail). Looked at a couple camera stores and did see anything I liked. Went to the Army / Navy Surplus store and found a nice pack from some Eastern European army that I liked very much for $30. All I had to do was steal a little padding from another camera bag, and Voila!

Meanwhile, I hope you can all dry out back east. Feel free to send back any of the excess moisture. That monster low that's brought the deluge to you all has really screwed up the jet stream and sent just about all the moisture we normally get in our wettest month way up north. Consequently we've had a bunch of high pressure building up, and by the end of the week Denver will be in the upper 80's (thank goodness I'll be out of town for that...not quite ready for the hot weather yet!). Just about every time I think we're starting to come out of this drought we get yanked back. At least the mountains got lots of snow this winter.

Well, must be off. Hope you all have a great day. I'll check in tomorrow before I'm outta here.

TTFN!

Well, made it back from Produce. We had 68 customers today. We got potatoes,
yogurt, yellow peppers and seedless grapes.

Lunch today: grilled cheese sandwiches with beef vegetable soup; chilli w/
PB sandwiches or tuna salad sandwiches; (The chili is medium hot today.)

Mookie: tell BC that if he doesn't come in and say "Hello" to everyone, I'm
going to be very upset with him. Haven't seen him in here in at least a month,
if I'm remembering correctly!!

I need a couple of grilled cheese with the soup. I am starving. This day has dragged on so far.

We're having steaks grilled tonight for supper if anyone is interested. We'll have some "fake" taters and some mac and cheese. So if anyone needs corn on the cob, better let me know in time and I'll cook 'em up.

No - it is a small koala bear - but it has been called a kitty, a person, a bear and a what's that on your ear or did you know you have something on your ear?

And some people ask it in such a way that it sounds like they think I wasn't aware of it!

Morning All

Welcome Scuta [#welcome] [tup]

I have been busy and probally have missed a ton of stuff here in the diner. [:(]

I worked 4 hours OT after my normal shift yesterday and am working 8 hours OT tonight on 3 rd shift. [^] The OT is good for the paycheck but not so good on the body and mind. OT kinda makes my halftimers worse. [;)]

I will be going to bed in a few minutes trying to get some sleep. Hopefully Duchess will be good.

Well I am off to check out a few more topics real quick.

but, unfortunately, that's still a no-no for him, right now.[:(]

It would appear that my presence has been requested.

And I know when I've been licked (my experiences with kittens tell me that they often lick someone right before they bite--hard!). I don't dare go against the wishes of my little sister, especially when she's coming so far out of the way to visit my home turf.

However, I'm not going to stay long. I've been having problems with my heart. Some people know what I'm talking about, the rest need not know. I'm under medication and special care. There are many things that I couldn't do if I wanted to, and some more things that I'm not allowed to do (in spite of the fact that I think they would help). And I'm not as resilient as some of the younger people.

My sister has told me to swallow my pride and a Tums and visit the Diner. Well, Sis, pride has little to do with it (just the opposite). And the Tums...well, I haven't gotten far enough in the door for that. Things will improve eventually, I hope. And SJ and Driver's visit this coming week will be very helpful in that respect--more than SJ realizes!

Maybe someday I'll stay long enough to hoist a Dew with dear old friends. But that time is not now, or in the foreseeable future (I'm not looking beyond next week yet!). Right now, I'm very tired. May I please be excused?

CW,
"Fake" taters are Hungry Jack potatoes in the box. We're to lazy to fix the real thing so we take the easy route.

Glad everyone enjoyed their supper.

We just got done watching our taped "CSI:Miami". Looks like Horatio is one the hunt now. "House" is on soon, so I know where my wife will be from 9-10:00.

Have a great evening everyone.
