Good Wednesday morning, everyone. Well, looks like rain is starting here.
They say we might have some severe storms late this afternoon, into the
evening. Jim, here it's already raining in your area. Believe that's what we're
supposed to get later this afternoon, and tonight.

Breakfast this morning: bacon, sausage and pancakes. Anyone want some
watermelon chunks for breakfast?

Supposed to rain tomorrow here. Hopefully it won't arrive until after my drive tonight - have to travel to Utica for a "car host" meeting with the Adirondack RR. Not looking forward to the two hour drive home with a midnight arrival...

I'll take some of that watermelon!

Tee hee - I am enjoying the morning read here!

CW - call your extension agent - it is free and they can tell you if you maybe need to add something to the soil. It may be too acidic or not enough.

Like Tree said, if you don't cut the suckers they will take over your property.

Tree - [^] One of a cats more endearing qualities. They have their opinions at their fingertips!

Also - check out www.journalstar.com under articles about our local fire dept and something pretty nice that they did on a very cold windy day. Kleenex will follow.

Joe - Millie's two biggest faults - I have my hands full and then try to undo the seat belt!
And the door is always locked when I try to get out (I am being let out at the curb) Or I am trying to roll down the window and the Driver shuts the key off. It is an experience just watching us try to get in and out of the car! Back to the crank and roll it yourself. And the only seatbelt was when the driver stuck their arm in front of you! Ah....

Jay - love Doonesbury! So politically "correct!".

Brian - the icky water they have for ponds nearby, you should bury the carp - you sure wouldn't want to eat them!

BC - evidently they have a park full of lilacs! Sigh....I think I would live there during spring!

Sarah - we dry, varnish and sell that manure. Makes good paperweights - I think. Maybe I should think about that for the kitty litt.........er........maybe not. I did give an Xmas gift one year of a small container of kitty litter. (of course it was clean!) [:(!]

I will need one picnic basket to go for Friday - I am going to take a day off work ([:O] - really! Gonna go looking for a big sack to put my possessions in for my trip east. It will be really tiring looking, so need to have some tidbits while I lay on my blanket under a shade tree and ponder where to find said sack. Probably take all day. Very tiring. May have to take several naps......

Gonna start now and practice...........

Well, we started getting thunder about 45 minutes ago. Since it's now raining,
here's the lunch menu today: your choice of tomato, vegetable beef, or potato
soup w/your choice of these sandwices: PB&J, bologna & cheese, plain PB,
grilled cheese, BLT, roast beef.

Thanks Chad- for what we're doing, we won't need much luck, not enough money or time for that. Any spare time we do have will be spent next to or in the Sahara's swimming pool.[8D]

CW,
I'll take a bowl of potato soup and a roast beef sandwich. Haven't had roast beef for some time.
Just leave the check with LM, and I'll let him take care of it for me.

Morning All

I have been watching our radar yesterday and today. Yesterday there was red east of us, north of us, and west of us. Today there is red south of us, but so far all we have had here is rain. The extremely heavy rain they predicted for us yesterday must have fallen elsewhere because it didn't fall here. However, we still have it in the forecast for today. It looks like a good portion of the central states are getting rain today.

I mowed the yard yesterday, did laundry, and unloaded the dishwasher. Today more of the same except for the yard. Hopefully I can get some other housework done today.

It sure is nice to actualy have some spring this year. I love not having to spend money on heat or A/C. It seems like so many years we have had the heat on one week and the A/C the next. It is cloudy here today and currently 73. It rained some this morning and could rain again any minute.

I hope the weather is nice when the 844 gets here. It has been maybe 10 years since it was here last. [:(] So I am looking forward to seeing it.

I see we lost someone. I hate to see that.

Well Everyone Take Care

Mookie; you're correct about "cats" having opinions;but they're
supposed to use "the pause,at the end of a clause"; NOT
"the Claws at the end of their Paws!!" [(-D][(-D]

Tree;removal of said things HAS been considered;that one's
still rather up in the air.

Brian(Ia);think that was trainutz,not totally sure.[%-)]
Maybe if I put the carp around the lilacs,I wouldn't have
to totally think about the removal procedure.[(-D]
You All have a safe trip to Vegas.[^]
Congrats on the 4th star also! [bow]

Sarah;might consider that manure,if it's from Pa.;don't think I would
want any of the stuff from 'Joisey';might be a bit more contaminated!![swg]

Brian (Ky);Your check's covered;hope you remembered to take a "Doggie Bag"

Afternoon all...

Been a rough past few days for me, I called my parents Saturday to find out my mom was in the hospital, her diverticulitis (I think that's right) was becoming a problem (This has something to do with the large intestine, but I haven't talked to a doctor about it yet.). Anyway, I found out Monday she was to have surgery, called my sister yesterday, found out she was doing good, she was scheduled to be moved out of ICU into a private room, but she'll be there for a week or two recovering.

Been wet up here since yesterday morning, not sure if the weather had anything to do with a fatal wreck near Waupon, which is about an hour of so northeast of me. A car travelling down US151 plowed into a train car 31 deep in the train and was dragged for seven miles before the train stopped. Ugly mess.[xx(][xx(][xx(]

Back to the weather, forecast for later is to get wet, windy and cold, high for tomorrow is not supposed to even hit 50, and will stay cool for a few days.

Potato soup with roast beef sandwiches sounds great for lunch, I'll take some, please.

Randy - your mom's condition is more common than we would like. And it runs in families. Not a fun thing to go through, but once she heals she should feel a whole lot better. I wish her well.

Randy,

Thoughts and Prayers to all concerned from here.
CW & I have a close family member that suffers from
same illness/disease;seems that it's not publicized as
much as other things are.
We wish her a very speedy recovery.

Sarah - Ain't it a wonderful feeling - to be able to mark another milestone?!?

Weather here is supposed to sour over the weekend, which figures..... Was hoping for some golf. Have friends from another fire department making a special trip up for our FD banquet. And to play golf.

Drove down to Utica for the Car Hosts meeting. There will have to be a lot of OJT... Did get to check out the new windmills up on Tug Hill. Wow! Big and Impressive! On top of that, all of the aircraft warning strobes are synchronized. Very different.

Time to rest up. Plenty to accompli***omorrow, and I have to go to work, too.

Sarah - congratulations! Now you need to start reading Dilbert in the comics!

CW/Mutt - I am off tomorrow on a day of vacation - so please auction off the hammock to the highest bidder. We will split it!

These vacations are a lot of work. I have spent two weeks training 3 different people to do my job while I am in Rochelle. Now I know why I come to work every day - it is a lot easier! I told them to just hold all the work tomorrow and I will do it on Monday!

Exasperated....

Mookie, if she starts reading Dilbert, she just might decide to take up railroading instead. The only thing that makes it easier once you realize that your work environment is so similar to Dilbert's, is that due to Dilbert's incredible popularity you realize that Dilberism's happen nearly everywhere. It doesn't always help the immediate situation, but it helps keep the "grass must be greener elsewhere" thoughts at bay.

Good Morning Diner friends!

The CFO had to drive to Charlotte for training with the new job yesterday and will return Friday. Thoughts and prayers are with her on the solo trip, she needs it! Driving the Interstate is a challenge for her ever since the accident on the move up to NC back in January.

So I took my son to Ted’s Montana Grill last night, he had a filet and I got a rib eye steak. Then we went to Barnes and Noble to browse the books, magazines, and music. He wanted a RC airplane magazine and I bought the new Bruce Springsteen CD. Then we went back home and watched a recording of the “Deadliest Catch”, a show on the Discovery Channel about king crab fishing in the Bering Sea, really neat stuff. Watching that show makes you want to eat king crab. Then we watched American Idol, Chris got voted off last night, a shocker to say the least. But Elliott has shown much improvement in the past few weeks, he might just make it to the top.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all in need!

Cheers,
