i thought it was ok.... worth watching more episodes when they're ready, but not a priority.... and the only real good part of Simpsons was the part involving Mario... go Donkey Kong!!!

Still recoverin' from my diet yesterday of chips, cheez whiz, beer, more chips, more cheez, more beer, hot dogs.

Super Bowl was kind of boring, except for the commercials. Good teams, but don't have any connection to either one of them. Best commercials: the Mama's Boy action figure, the guy on his cell phone getting zapped in the C-store, and the Mustang convertible. Worst commercials: the stupid Lay's potato chip, whosis at the rugby game. Don't like Lay's chips anyway -- Jay's or Guy's are mucho better. Rest of the time we watched the Puppy Bowl on Animal Channel. Now that was funny!

Boy, somebody must have left the window open in the storeroom - all these old posts blowing around all over the place. They must have had someplace they had to be in a hurry!

Have to get in there and post to some of the current stuff to get it back up on page one again.

Snow? A balmy 43 as I arrived at work this morning. Looks like rain in the forecast this week, then maybe more snow. We are W A Y behind on snowfall this year. Not good.

She ripped right thru it and got us both to work with no problems - Driver said her brakes worked like they should - tap, tap, tap and we heard the front wheel drive traction kick in! Breakfast will be: turkey bacon, eggs, sausage, and biscuits with
gravy. Also have hash browns this morning.

Jay, no crow, but do have beef burrito enchilada style for supper.

Also have plenty left to do another batch tomorrow.

Anybody have a tasty recipe for crow? I am sure that some people will be having that for their late evening snack.

How come not "Hot Sauce"?[:D][}:)]

I suppose you could - I just don't picture a salad as "hot." Besides - I'm usually making it for a very mixed audience.

On second thought, what with all the Super Bowl traffic out today (people
going to Super Bowl parties, getting supplies, etc.) we'll fix beef enchiladas
here. The heck with going out anywhere.

Good morning everyone! Joe, thank you for getting things started here
in the diner this morning. I'll take a big cup of coffee, and two red, white
and blue icing doughnuts. Don't care about football, but I love doughnuts!

Beef burritos deluxe enchilada style for lunch today. Tomorrow is loco-
mutt's and my 18th wedding anniversary, but we're planning to go to
Tumbleweed today and celebrate a day early. We're supposed to have
a 70 % chance of rain tomorrow, and since we are still getting over what-
ever crud we've had, don't want to go out tomorrow and get all wet!

BamaRed, welcome to the Depot Diner and Coffee Shop. If you've perused
a few of the diner's pages, you can see we mostly have good ole downhome
country cooking. Thanks for telling us exactly what scrapple is. Now: next
quetstion: Those aren't the ingredients in the Scrapple drinks, are they?!?!

Andrew, sorry to hear about your mishap; but glad to see you back.
Maybe you should email jhhtrainsplanes: he definitely can commiserate
with you about broken toes.

Since this is a beautiful sunshiny day (at least here in Lou.), will have a
light lunch/supper: homemade vegetable soup on the warmer, along
with some cornbread to have with your soup, and sandwiches in the
cooler.

Been off for a bit. Found a way to drive trains without killing people (Auran Trainz for PC) Great game but very complex and rather accurate seemingly for so far.

I dropped part of my desk on my big toe and had to go to the doctor. The pain was really bad and found myself swearing and cursing in several languages including ones I don't think exist. Thank goodness for extra strength Tylanol......drugs are great (at least the legal kind).

OK - Taco Salad. This one is best for a group, as the lettuce doesn't keep real well.

You need:
Head of lettuce
1 lb ground beef
Taco seasoning for meat (McCormicks)
2 medium tomatoes
Cheese (your choice - you can buy preshredded or cubed or shred or cube your own)
Catalina Dressing
Taco sauce. Mild recommended
Tortilla Chips

Cook meat with taco seasoning per instructions. Drain and let it cool some.
Tear or cut up lettuce to desired size
Dice tomatoes, again to desired size - small is good
Prepare cheese if necessary
Combine in large bowl
Add Catalina dressing and taco sauce to taste.
Break up tortilla chips into suitable size and mix into salad. Optionally make available on the side.

This is best if consumed fresh - the lettuce tends to wilt fairly quickly. Makes a pretty big salad - good for that Super Bowl party. Obviously can be adjusted.

This can be mostly prepared ahead of time (cook the meat, cut up the lettuce, etc) and then combined when ready to eat in just a few minutes....
