Ah - I am feeling a little better CW - thanks for coffee.

Can't seem to shake the "cof"....lungs still not working quite 100%, but getting there.

For all of you interested - remember, we live in the land of "no weather". Had call from De Nephew in Calif, worried that he would have to come back to NE and process the will. Told him, no - we had very little of anything. A little hail, a little moisture, but nothing more than 10 min tops on either. Up north - they had Xmas all over again. You must remember that during a storm you hide in a hole - and we hide our whole city in a hole all year round. We let everything go to Omaha and Iowa - all higher than we are.

Ah - BBQ for breakfast - that is so yummy! Thanx Tree.

Where is Joe? Need him to hold my oj for me.

More "cof" syrup and another nap in the hammock. At least this way, I am quiet and stay out from under foot!

Once again bright sun and 50+, but the thermometer is heading south fast. Overcast, then rain, then snowshowers this afternoon. Had heavy storms all around us last night. Tornado warning was up, but no word of anything around here. We had a short period of heavy rain and then lighter rain and drizzle a good part of the night.

Hope everybody checks in OK.

Hi you all!

CW can I please have some coffee? Thanks...guess it's Monday.

Sigh[:(] My puppy (well she's a year and a half) is sick. I took her to the vet this morning, but they're not sure what's wrong.

Sure can get attached to the furry things (I know Mookie, it's a dog, but she's a good dog).

We thought she'd stayed out playing in the rain too long, but it looks like it's more than that.

Enough, howz it goin with everyone elses?

Mookie, haven't heard from or seen Joe this morning. Hope they're all right in NW
Ohio.

Josie, so very sorry to hear about your doggie. Hope she gets well soon.

Lunch today: choice of beef vegetable soup, or beef stew, with plenty of cornbread;
if you don't want any cornbread, I've got some PB&J and tuna sandwiches made
up.

Yeah - you heard me -

Besides my dish is pink - and ain't no dog or Mutt that would want to eat out of a pink dish! With bluebirdies on it! And pretty yellow flowers! And Mudchicken's picture in the bottom!

Come to think of it, maybe I don't want to eat out of it either!

Joe, glad to know you all are all right. We missed you this morning. Hope everything
gets fixed soon.

Think we'll have a "small" supper tonight: I'll fry some hamburgers, w/sauteed onions,
and make a home made tarter sauce for the burgers. If anyone wants, I'll also put
a slice of cheese on a burger, and melt it for you. We'll also have plenty of fries, and
I'll make sure to melt some cheese to put over the fries for those of you who like
cheese fries.

Josie,
That kind of being "carried away",is okay;just make sure it's not
the other kind,as being "carried away" by fast moving water !!

Mook;you're right,I'm not sure how you do even look at that bowl,
let alone eat from it.[(-D] [:-,]
At least mine has a picture of a railroad engine on the bottom of it !![swg]

Joe; hope you can get things up and running again soon,CW's right,we do
miss you around here.
Hope your alls high water isn't like what's going on over in southern In.,there
are several small "bergs" pretty much cut off from everywhere else due to
the high water. On our side of the Ohio,'bout all we've gotten are the token
underpasses that always flood when it rains hard;and believe it or not,I've not
heard of any idiots trying to drive through one of them this time;very unusual !!

The burgers and fries are now ready. Even got some cheese melted for pour
over the fries.

We got another semi-heavy shower about 1 1/2 hours ago; now, the sun is shining.

Interesting weather here, too. It started raining about midnight last night, and we got half an inch. I had to drive to work this morning in very thick fog, but it was all gone by the time we had our meeting and were actually ready to hump cars (the night boys hadn't turned a wheel for a good four hours, and we made up for that, I think!). Between 7:00 and 8:00 the temperature shot up from the upper 40s to 61 degrees, then from 9:00 a.m. on it's been dropping (now at 32), with strong winds, including at least one 55-mph gust.

A burger sounds great about now. Haven't had any supper yet.

Glad everyone made it through the rocky weather - Was watching Weather Channel this weekend, looked like both Mookie and Mutt/CW would get hammered. Weatherman promised us thunder today, but he lied. 10:30 PM and the stars are out. This does seem to be our year for wind, though - another wind warning kicks in at 2 AM. Just got the few shingles that I lost in the last storm replaced...

Mookie - don't know whose chicken that was that you ate this morning, but our BBQ isn't until next Sunday... I'll leave a dish, as promised...

MC - Look for some miltary type equipment headed your way - three trains worth headed for CA. Drop me a line and I'll fill you in...

OK, bedtime snack out of the way - gotta work tomorrow - better head for the ol' waterbed...

The wierd part is the cold wind coming out of the South West. That is the wind that usually carries the warm. Maybe I really am in an alternate universe. Scary.

Good Tuesday morning. Well, this morning, we have an outside temp of 37 degrees.
"What a difference a day makes!" About 20 something degree difference from yes-
terday morning. At least the rain is out of here, for now. Talking about a little bit
of snow later in the week.

Well, getting ready for the people to come ring the doorbell to sign up for the Produce
this morning. So I've got breakfast on the warmer bar: turkey bacon, sausage, sausage
gravy & biscuits, oatmeal, toast, scrambled eggs.

Everyone have a great day, and I'll check back with you in a little while.

Tree: [:I] But then Mooks isn't particular - she will sample off anyone's plate!

Joe won't probably see this, but I miss hearing from both Matt and Joe. Hope he hurries and gets replugged.

Driver sez the weather, which I seem to have missed due to checking backs of eyelids for holes - is predicting a doozy of a snowstorm this weekend. So I may take Monday off and check the easy chair out for comfort. Got a blanket all ready to go!

Tree - hear you will get something today - not sure what - but supposed to be a light version of everything west of you. Also heard Northern Minn got a foot of snow. Ah, just the perfect place for it!

Went to train watch for a few min yesterday - they are doing a Mudchicken project - drainage, drainage, drainage. Either they are burying a lot of rock to help with that, or they are digging for a lost SW10.

Heading for the "cof" syrup....

Moo...

Josie: Does the pup have a tendancy to "Hoover" anything in sight? You may have to work to discourage that a little. My 16 Year old guy (Westie) still does it and unfortuately, for the first 10 years of his life, he used the talent as an abandonment survival skill. We have to keep him busy to keep him from teaching the hoovering skills to the 4 year old scottie. My daughter's Dalmatian is allergic to wheat products. Unfortunately, ,many of the things he finds (and "Hoovers") during his daily walks around the neighborhood contain wheat. The results range from some foul air (phewwwwww) to a rash. If she gets Benadryl into him soon enough it minimizes the problems, but it sure is a pain. And he sure can swallow fast, if he has to...

I'm going to have yet another coronation in a month or so--guess I'm lucky the tooth can stay in.

I may have to eat a late lunch out of Mutt's di***oday.

Got anything that will cure the lonesome railfan blues? [:(]

Afternoon all. Gee, after I got through with Produce this morning, got home, and
fell fast asleep. I just woke up about a little bit ago. Hope everyone found some-
thing for lunch. Sorry about that. At least I had some bologna, ham & cheese,
and tuna sandwiches in the cooler.

Carl, why do you have the "lonesome railfan blues"? Did we spoil you a couple
of weeks ago, with your entourage?

On the menu for supper tonight will be: country-fried steak w/ milk gravy, mashed
potatoes and your choice of biscuits or cornbread. Will have green beans, corn
and carrots to go along with the steak. Carl, I'll make sure to make the steaks for
you and Mutt soft so you all can eat them. (Meaning I won't let them get too hard
so you two can't eat them.

I have an issue with some of the posts. Now I've been away from this train site for some time, but I returned 3/15 to see numerous topics about the moderator(s) and about how some are tired of being lied to (I guess), as if there were numerous counts of made up stories. Is the Trains Magazine forum still OK for me to visit? I wouldn't want to ever post a true story sometime on here and have others think I was just doing it to draw attention to myself ..... in other words, I wouldn't want contention.

Jim:

Just a wild guess on my part, I think it's a case of one shooting their mouth off. I just got done reading the barbeque topic myself, and came to above conclusion.

As far as I know, the diner is still safe and a pleasure to be in, and if any riff-raff gets in, we have enough people (and animals) acting as bouncers to remove them.[:D][:D][:D]

Getting back on topic here (as if we really have a set topic here[:D][:D]), looks like we're going to see some snow Wed. night and Thursday, weather radio is predicting up to seven inches for the Mad City, just in time for state tournaments (basketball, I think).

CW, found some leftover country fried steak and fixin's, made myself a plate, and did dishes again (Dutchess and Co. looked like they needed a break[:D][:D]). If I may make a suggestion for Thursday, would it be possible to have chili that night? With all the snow forecast, I think it would be a great way to warm up after work that night. Thanks in advance.

Well, see everyone later.
