There is a nice friendly little neighborhood tavern about a block down from the depot. Very quiet, just the place for a beverage after a long day. It isn't allowed on the forum because of the difficulty checking ID's, but if you log off, you can step in there.

You can have a strawberry daiquri without the tequila in the diner, but you have bring your own strawberries and - do we have a blender?

I have a blender and 2 quarts of strawberries. What that has to do with tea is beyond me, but I don't like beer.

Agreed that was a tremendously stupid thing to do. I imagine the kid has never seen anything like the collision he nearly killed himself by. Obviously his missed the day they taught common sense in school. Sadly, he was probably out dodging trains that day.

I was linking only to the video, from another train forum, if anyone "wandered" around elsewhere on the original host site, thats them sticking their nose into it. Dont blame the messenger and burn the message.

That video should have been seen...stupidity defined!

Hey someone deleted my post from the other day...

It was called "We may have found the Stupidest person on the face of the Earth"

It was a link to a video of a moron playing chicken with a French express train and almost getting whacked!...

Did Bergie get worried some nutcase would try to emmulate it and removed it for fear of the legal ramifications?

Okay, everyone! The Italitan spaghetti, salad and garlic toast is ready!
Come and eat while the spaghetti and toast are hot. Have some Heavenly
Hash ice cream to go with Larry's pies he baked today. If anyone doesn't
want pie, there are cookies in the cookie jar.

Do you use the "Weatherbug" program? I tried it once, and it made a mess of my computer; it seems to be a very poorly written program.

Regarding storm chasing, like you, part of me would like to see a tornado (for the experience), but most of me does not, due to the fact that usually with a tornado comes misery, suffering, damage, and trauma.

When I do my storm spotting (as opposed to chasing) for the NWS, I have an area I cover, and wait for the weather to come to me. I do this so I am familiar with the location I am spotting from, and can thereby give more accurate reports to the local NWS office.

I had WeatherBug on here at work until they made us take it off, since it's a bandwidth hog. Never had any problems with it. My daughter has it on her computer - that's how I found out about the contest. I usually have the Intellicast desktop running now.

I have a weather station at the house - aside from being in a small valley which drops wind speeds by about half most of the time, the weather station does it for me. I have the computer interface hooked up so I easily track extremes and log the hourly reports as well.

I, too, am a Skywarn spotter, but don't have a specific area that I cover, aside from my response area. As a fire officer, I do have instant communications locally most of the time. NWS Buffalo is on the cell phone speed dial. Not much to "chase" around here. We don't get the supercell storms so common in tornado alley.

I did support work for NSSL one spring while I was stationed at Tinker AFB. Didn't get much weather that year, at least not around OKC. They were just getting started with Doppler radar at the time.

Joe, we have T-Storms with pea sized hail outside. A tornado in the San Luis Valley (Center, CO...wierd to see them in the hills that far west)

Which reminds me - must be I didn't get picked for that storm chase (WeatherBug was running a contest). Probably wanted somebody who would be in amazement, instead of an old hand (who would still be in awe).

One of those weird things - want to see a twister, but wouldn't wish one on anyone.

Blueberry? Arrrrgh...I am in pain....I am so happy!

Well, apple (from fresh apples) is the specialty, but I do like blueberry, too. I'll do cherry, but don't expect me to sample it... We'll probably do some pumpkin and chocolate while we're at it.

We occasionally do pies for our FD dinners - now you're talking 30-40 or so, of multiple varieties. One of the firefighter's wives is always welcome at those pie making sessions - she makes rolling a crust out look positively easy.

And 'Mutt - the marble pin makes for flakier crusts - doesn't melt the shortening in the dough. I've been known to refrigerate it first.
