Well, it has most certainly been a long time since I have been in here. Everything looks good, espeacilly the food!!! I think I'll have to eat a earily morning pizza or should I say late night pizza?? Of course I'm going to eat the extra chesse!!

Now did everyone remeber to set their clocks back? It's Fall Back!!! One of my favorite times of the year, I get an  extra hour of sleep!!!

Well here is something else that is new. I moved permanitly (sp) out of my great home city and state of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and, moved to Louisville, KY. It took me 14 hours total in driving time. I do know one thing, driving long distances in a four wheel drive truck, with a 6 in lifted syspension is tough.

Larry

Glad you enjoyed the concert.

If you go on the Field Band web site and check out the bio's for the singers in small ensembles who are also members of the Soldiers Chorus, you will find that if it is music they can do it.

Pizza delicious as usual.

After dinner we (my mother, visiting from AZ, and I) took in the concert by the Army Field Band.  Really great.  They did Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" (which was included in Disney's "Fantasia").  I'm pretty sure it was written for pipe organ, but they did it justice.  The vocalists left you wondering what else they are capable of.

Time to call it a night.  Lake effect snows and high winds forecast for past midnight and into tomorrow.  Should be really great!  (Not!)

Hold it right there. Isn't a Supreme pizza by definition one that has pretty much most everything topping on it? Confused [%-)]

Not necessarily. Pizza Supreme is a term of art. Like "Hawaiian Pizza" means pizza with ham and pineapple.

Okay, it's almost 7, and the pizzas are coming out of the ovens.  So grab a plate,
head for the warmer bar, and make your selections.  And the cookies for dessert
are also on the warmer bar.

Joe, thanks for getting the coffee on, and making the juice.  Also, thank you for the

and home fried taters on the warmer bar.

Joe, we've got the rain out of our area now; but, like you, the wind is blowing, and
we're supposed to "warm"  up to about 60 today.

Everyone have a great day, getting whatever taken care of that you need to, and

Sorry I'll miss the pizza. Heading out to the new Tex Mex place to try it out. Raining buckets here and in the high 40s. Hope it doesn't freeze tonight or I will need to trade snow tires for ice skates. Supposed to have winds of 60+ tonight too. Not a fit night out for man nor beast. Glad I won't be walking the brakes tonight...

Aaaaaaauuuuuugggghhhhh!!!! //thud//

Danged wind!

Well, now that I blew in (I know, bad pun!), this weekend I'm staying out of the Mad City, it's the annual Halloween riot party. So far, news reports said Friday night was quieter than past years, tonight should be the ugly one, though. The city printed 80,000 tickets, and only sold 10,000 as of Friday morning for tonight, but that doesen't mean it won't get ugly tonight on State St or other nearby areas.

Bought tickets for the Gallagher show on Nov 17th, my sister showed interest in coming, so I'll take her to the show. Should be a good time, I just popped for general admission, though, don't care to leave with splattered food on me.

Could hit 60 in the area come Monday, then the bottom falls out of the thermometer for the rest of the week. Think I'll just take a sausage and pepperoni for dinner tonight, see everyone later.

Temps inching up to the potential 50 degress under a sunny sky.  The wind is cold, but is working to knock down the rest of the leaves on the trees on the yard.  I want no more than one last time on yard cleanup this fall, so as I wait, I'll grab a sandwich, shove Kevin off the couch and take a nap.

It's 49 here right now, but we've gotten over an inch of rain since last night, with a very windy forecast tonight and tomorrow. Have to make sure the chainsaw is ready to go - we may need it for downed trees....

Pizza does sound good....

It's 31 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It's supposed to warm up to about 57 degrees toward 4:00 this afternoon. I'm getting ready to take my mountain bike out on the bike trail and head for Falls Park for a get-together with a few other members of the Sioux Falls Camera Club, most of them I have not seen face-to-face in nearly a year. I might be lucky to catch a BNSF grain train or a Dakota & Iowa rock train on the way down to Falls Park or AT Falls Park itself. But first I will need to stop in at the Diner for some breakfast, Cherokee Woman says there are bacon and Pancakes, and Joe has indicated that there are some cinnamon rolls that he has warmed up. I'm hungry!Dinner [dinner]

I watched a 110-car BNSF grain train roll through the yard here in Sioux Falls yesterday from the 10th Street overpass, and dang it, I did not have my camera with me. Anyway, the motive power on the point of the train consisted of #5050, 4709 and 864. I think if I go back to the BNSF PHOTO ARCHIVES, it would tell me just what these engines are.

I hope everyone out there has a great day!

We have some very nice weather coming our way here in Omaha. Highs of about 60 are forecast for Saturday then lower 70s for Sunday and Monday. I can't wait to feel warm air again!

Got that earlier on "The Secret List."  It escapes me why someone would start a fire that's gonna burn woods and innocent people out of their homes.  Not that I condone it, but setting fire to somebody's house because you're mad at them at least makes a certain amount of sense.  This is just stupid.

Well, looks like we've been kind of on the slow side in here this morning.

Here is the lunch menu for today:

1.  Especially for Mookie, some nice vegetable soup, to help her feel a
tad bit better.  And Mookie, I've put an electric blanket in the hammock
for you.  Hope it helps keep you warm this afternoon.

2.  Our regular FRIDAY FISH FRY with cod, perch, and halibut, with
sides of hushpuppies, fries, and cole slaw.

3.  Hamburgers and cheeseburgers.

Is this the result of jumping around in wet piles of leaves? Alas! Two towels must not have been enough to prevent malady in a wet kitten. Seriously, hope you start feeling better soon, Mooks.

When one reads about the wildfires, and then finds out that it was the deliberate act of a looney, it certainly makes one loathe certain elements of the human race. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen firefighters.

I have an aunt and uncle living in Southern California, in Apple Valley, which is just outside of Victorville. While I don't know how close they are to this fire that has been in the news lately, I hope the authorities will find the individual who set this fire and nail him for the deaths of these four firefighters........a fifth one has received 3rd degree burns over 95% of his body, and I am guessing he will not survive. These guys gave their lives in an effort to stop this fire from spreading and to protect human lives and property.

In the summer or fall of 2000(I think), There was a girl who thoughtlessly tossed a cigarette butt from her care while driving through the Black Hills National Forest, and the resulting blaze burned off thousands of acres. She didn't seem to give a rip about what she had done, she was prosecuted and is now serving a prison sentence..........she may have already been released, but I hope she is still behind bars.
