As promised:

That's my dog, "Keiko" on the grass, and my daughter's deaf Dalmatian "Angus" right next to me.

Down front, working on braiding their leashes, are "Smokey," my buddy, "Roo," very much a momma's girl, but at home on any lap that's offered, and "Buns," the independent one of the bunch.

Roo's bark often says her name....

I understand my neighbors looked forward to the show each day....

Okay, you've given me a couple of good ideas for today's menu.  So, for lunch
and supper, we'll have:

1.  chicken noodle soup w/turkey sandwiches & fries (thanks, sactoguy)
2.  linguine w/red clam sauce. (thanks, Lc)

(And for anyone who wants it, leftovers from last night, a good witches' brew with
all kinds of candy in it.)

Coffee is ready, and Mookie, here's you great big mug, full
to the brim with coffee.  Juice is freshly made, and we have
hot water for hot tea.

Breakfast this morning:  oatmeal, turkey bacon, scrambled
eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and sausage gravy, and some

Mookie, glad you got the Thanksgiving decorations out.  But
I have one question:  How in the world did Kevin get in there,

It's very chilly and wet here this morning.  The rain is
supposed to  be out of here sometime later today/night.  Then,
our low tomorrow night/Friday morning is to be in the mid to
upper 20s.

Guess that's about all my "news" this morning, except to say
that I had a really great time with Sarah at the mall.  Too
bad that one jewelry store wasn't giving something other than
candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters!!  We could have done
some early Christmas shopping.

Everyone have a great day, and let me know if you have any
special requests for lunch and supper menus, please.

Perhaps linguine with red clam sauce for dinner? Haven't had it in a long time. Canned clams are ok given the season. The turkeys were out back again this morning with a couple of big toms and 10 or 12 hens. Perhaps I can bag one later in the month for Turkey Day...

Mutt, your picture of Cherokee Woman all dressed up in engineer's garb is interesting. I have an antique CB&Q brakeman's lantern, complete with a red fresnel globe which I couuld have loaned her.......it would have made her look a little more authentic. I sort of pictured in my own mind what CW looks like, and I was close!

I love the Coin Street Fruitcakes.  No one ever seemed interested in them and I practically had to force people at work to try one.  They are so good, but unfortunately have a bad rep!

I also put up my 6" xmas tree on my desk.  It is the only decorating I have done, but that was so easy - open drawer, remove tree, set it down.  Done!

Now to await the gifts that will magically appear under it?   (yeah right!)

Good morning everyone but I think I'm coming down with something. Dead [xx(] Can the Diner fix up some chicken noodle soup and maybe turkey sandwiches for lunch? Dinner [dinner]

By the way, you wouldn't believe what I did yesterday: I brought down from the garage and set up my artificial Christmas tree, complete with setting up the lights! Blush [:I] Now I know it works, I disassembled it and it will likely go up the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Smile [:)] I also yesterday did my orders for a Honeybaked Ham for Thanksgiving and also ordered three Colin Street Bakery fruitcakes for Christmas gifts (the operator on the phone was just a tad surprised I ordered the cakes this early).

Have a nice day, everyone.

...Tree, appreciate just what you are going through with those 3 mini-Doxie's....We had 2 of them one right after the other for 33 years....So loveable, and of course really just another member of the family....In their eyes the most important part of the family.

Very intelligent dogs...{or is it people}, at least they think they are people....We took them eveyplace we went {we were a lot younger then}.  Even to Disney World...There they had to stay in Disney's {dog hotel}, and we even had to make out a menu for her.  A/C'd too....

Almost all of the Doxie's have similar habits and I think begging is one of their highest honed abilities...When they give you "that look"....well they know what they are doing...

They were really an important part of our family.

Ed,

You might talk to the Mudchicken. During the summer months, he becomes an expert at pumping large quantities of Gatorade through an IV. I'm sure he could help you with yours...

Well, since I live all by my lonesome (the only house in an industrial area), I never get any Trick or Treaters. I never learn, either. Every year I buy candy and wait for someone to show up, and then every year I have to take care of the consumption of said candy also by myself. Hmmm...what can I say...

Sarah, it's funny that you mentioned your BDU story. I went to a JROTC high school back in IL, and one year I went in my Class A's to a Halloween party. Had a lot of similar reactions. Explaining that I was only in JROTC got to be almost a chore. It was kind of like when I had my certificate proclaiming that after graduation I was a Brevet 2LT in the Illinois National Guard, unassigned (and unpaid! ;-) ). I finally got tired of explaining that it was an honorary thing (given to all JROTC grads) that meant almost nothing (except that I could go into any branch of the service with a starting pay grade of E-3), so I finally took it down.

Well, guess I had better be about my business. Hope you all have a great day!

As soon as I can scan the picture in, I'll share what my life was like last week.  Five dogs.  Daughter was tied up with wedding and honeymoon, so I had the Dalmatian.  Son & DIL are moving from upper left coast to DC, and just this week are moving into their new house, so I have had their three mini-doxies.  Plus my own pup (well, old pup).  Not to mention Mom visiting for the week.  I had a houseful.

The honeymooners are home, and so is the Dal.  Looks like the DIL will be up Friday, planning to leave Saturday with the 3 little ones.  Life will be back to normal!

I don't know how well the three of them would do as a lending library - they're pretty much a set, and keep track of each other.  The female, however, is pretty much a lap dog, and if there's a lap available, you can count on her being in it.

OK - One holiday in the closet and next one out.

Checking the freezer we have      "&" (turkey) sssss (tuffing) ooooo  (cranberries) * * (my good earrings)  Pi (pumpkin & pecan)  nnnnnnnnn (whip cream)  b (lost mitten) m m m (hot rolls that look like little bottoms) and - Kevin?

Well CW has it fully stocked for the next holiday.  Maybe we should start early?  Hmmm????

Tree - I would love to take one of those little guys off your hands.  Maybe have a doggie library where I could check out a pet of the week?

Had to go gently suggest a new resting spot for a local cat - he looked like Garfield sitting on the fence right next to the bird feeder next door.  Surprised he didn't have his mouth open with seeds in it!

14 little ones and someone left a piece of candy on our porch.  Wasn't that nice of them?

Big Smile [:D]

Mutt....geeeeeeeeee... that spike looks awfully familar, maybe I should have taken it with me tonight just in case any beings from Transylvania, not to be confused with Pennsylvania came up and attacked me. Shock [:O] lol

Well, Holloween was great for me. I dressed up in my Army BDUs PA National Gaurd Military Police, and went out to the mall. I got all to many questions like this "Are you in the military?" I also had some lady come up to me out of the clear blue and Thank me for serving my country, I thought that was pretty werid and cool at the same time. Well the mall gives out a lots of candy I will say that much. I received a lot of it.

Unfortunitly, I wasn't able to eat din din because I ate too much candy. SUGAR RUSH Big Smile [:D]
