Morning All,
Happy Friday! (And there was much rejoicing.) For some reason this week has dragged by. I think it is the beginning of the very long days that always seem to appear before a long trip. I leave to go back home on the 15th. Alas! this means that next week will be even longer, and the remaining couple days of the following week worse yet. Oh well, as Calvin's dad would say, "Waiting for a trip builds character."
Anyways, I have a pile of bids on my desk to type up, so I must be on my way. Hope you all have a great day!

(sniff, sniff) Ah....
Joe isn't in yet, either. Are they having a party somewhere else? Or frozen in time?
Lou-a-ville won their football game last nite (I think I got that straight) so Mutt and CW might be sleeping in. Joe is possibly "frozen" in time. Hurry Joe! Need mah chair shoved in!
Good morning, everyone. Since Cherokee Woman is not in here yet, I'll take charge of serving breakfast this morning. I've already made a fresh batch of orange juice and I've got the coffee brewing. Breakfast this morning will consist of; oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown potatoes, buttermilk pancakes, french toast and cinnamon rolls - fresh out of the oven! Breakfast Is Served!!!!
It's cold here in my home town, I've been up for barely an hour and we have a temperature of only 14 degrees. I'll bet it's colder than that in other parts of the country. Although it is supposed to warm up here to about 47 degrees later this afternoon.

Hee Hee! Way to go Willy!
You faint of heart from the warmer climes - we are working on becoming the Florida of the True Midwest during the winter. We already are warmer than we were back when Hector was a pup (and our next door neighbor) and we have less snow every year. Pretty soon people will flock to Omaha and Lincoln to shop and then go to Valentine to play in our big sand box!
Imagine - sun and sand in Nebraska and then wander over to Colorado to go skiing. Don't forget to stop and cut the asparagus!

Mookie Pardon my interruption of the chowdah debate, but I've been working at my crystal ball and this is what I've come up with. First, I'll start off by saying that we are going to move into a rather warm weather pattern late this weekend and by next Wednesday or Thursday I would not be surprised to see highs again reaching the lower 70s. This pattern may last for a week or possibly even two weeks. I mention this warm period because usually this time of year after a warm spell, a big chunk of cold canadian air dives south and cools things down. It wouldn't surprise me if this happens maybe a week or so before Thanksgiving and then sticks around through Thanksgiving. As for snow... I expect our first one inch or greater snowfall to occur by the end of November, but after November 20th, possibly just before Thanksgiving. Another possibility would be that it happens after Thanksgiving as our airmass translates back to warm temperatures from the cold temps I expect for Thanksgiving. It would be a snow changing to rain situation. Basically, the entire snowfall forecast for November hinges on whether or not and when my cold airmass materializes. One thing that could throw off my forecast for no snow until after November 20th would be if we get snow with the arrival of the cold airmass I'm expecting. Otherwise Mookie, check your email for my entire winter forecast. Thank goodness there's only one day until the end of the week. I'm exhausted after this week because it is like the first full week of school we've had for a month. Downright insulting, that's what it is! They all should be honored to have the opportunity to come to Omaha in the dead of winter!

They'll never learn. My favorite is still the time I came around a bend running track speed (40) and found a pickup with a cap and an extension ladder. The ladder was obstructing the track on my side. When we hit the cap and ladder spun off that truck like a boomerang...
OOPS!
We got stopped in about a half mile because we had a short train 3 units and 44 cars of which 26 were loaded propane and butane. Of course, we stayed on the rail...
#1's across the board. makes it simple.got word from the office supply store that their annual calendar sale starts next week. soo many pictures to look at.

I'll take one of each main course and three helpings of each dessert. Sorry I'm not being a good influence for our young members, but us dieters only want the fats and the sweets, thank you.

Wow! Our own resident stick-your-neck-out weather forecaster. I can't get registered meteorologists to do much more than 24 hours. Then they act like they are giving away family secrets!
Well, going to print off the forecast and give it to The Driver. He will be pleased!
Thanx Willy

Mook, that is a riot! If only I could teach our critters that.
Meanwhile, thought I'd share a picture I took while my sisters were visiting my fair state. We were roaming around Idaho Springs, and I found this:
A Caprice (still in service even!) and a steam locomotive (that may one day be back in service) all in one shot? Is there anything more beautiful out there? I certainly think not!

That picture reminds me of a family cat we had for many years named Pepper.
Chris - maybe you need to call the Dog Whisperer?
My girlfriend had a yappie that would be set off just by the furnace blower coming on. She would look at the dog and tell her to use her "house" voice and the barking would get very soft. It was a riot!
Larry, just be glad it's a temporary situation. My mom has 5 dogs constantly at her house! 1 Keeshond, 1 Shetland Sheepdog, 1 Miniature Schnauzer and 2 Chihuahuas (one of which she stole from me, but that's a long story). It's hard to keep one's sanity when there's a knock at the door (let alone answer the door in a easy calm fashion!).
Don't know a whole lot else, so I guess I'll be about my business. Hope you all have a great day!
