Joe, and locomutt, you've got the supper menu for tonight:

lasanga with a nice, fresh garden salad, and garlic toast/bread.

Dessert will be some fresh apples I got at Produce this morning.

And leave Mookie alone: know she's catching up on all the work!!

To the Mookster:

WELCOME BACK![#welcome]

nssr9169, welcome to the forums and to the diner [#welcome] I'm very sure you'll enjoy things here. The food here in the diner is great, provided by our very own cook CW. One word of advise here don't **** off the cook. lol

Weather.....well it looks like Mutt and CW received some serious weather yesterday, with that twister comming through and all. I'm glad to hear everything is ok. Over here in the great state of PA we are currently under a flash flood warning and, some parts of tha state are flooded. It has been raining here for two days now. The following rivers are flooded Schuykill, Susquehanna, and the Lehigh. The river that is most violent right now is the Schuykill. From my observations and data the Schuykill rose about 1 foot today, at the Conshohcken dropoff, river current about 15 mph, center.

CW I'm going to eat some din din now I really do need it!!!!

This is trully going to be a good year for me. A lot of great and interesting things have happened to me. My girlfriend and I are back together; I passed all my courses for the first semester in College despite some B.S trying to louse it up, I am still working for my member for provincial parliment and now I will be working on a candidate for federal parliment's campaign and a friend of mine who is running for alderman/ city councilor for Niagara Falls.

Crazy huh? The year has just started and my life is really busy. See ya all later

For breakfast this morning, we have: turkey bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy,
scrambled eggs, or your can have a bowl of oatmeal w/toast, and applesauce,

...Must make a comment on what unfolded as a tragedy over in West Va. at the mine explosion...I come from coal country in Pennsylvania so I'm familiar...The Quecreek incident back in 2002 was just 5 miles from my home....and this one, with the conflicting reports last night...{early morning}, is such a tragedy for those miners and their families. My thoughts and prayers are with all those families and the people who tried to make a rescue happen.

What a nightmare screw-up. Our local paper printed the early edition with the wrong headlines. Then reprinted the later edition with a totally different story. In this day and age, this should have never happened. So many people torn apart over and over.

You can say that again, Mookie. This is one time when all the newspapers
should have been late
going to press and being delivered this morning.
As Quntin said, our prayers are with the miners and their families.

Supper tonight will be chicken & dumplings. And if you don't like that,
there'll be tuna melt casserole.

...Yes, those folks will need lots of prayers....I have no idea how this will sort out...reactions, etc...will be varied. I can't imagine what emotions they are going through at this time. It was total elation last night right before I turned off the TV at about 1 am....and then to learn the different outcome this morning is mind bogging.

....In the above info re: coal mines, etc... I am reminded of hearing Mark Hempfill speak of engineering work he had done in the past with mining and got to wondering why we do not see him on here in the diner anymore....Have I missed info on his whereabouts....Is he still railroading in Iraq....Anyone...?

Mark dropped in to answer a Q on the new Q thread just yesterday. I believe he was back here over the holidays, but may have returned to Iraq by now.
I think it is running up close to a year now, and hopefully we soon will learn of his return for good.

Unfortunately,we got the same news here. I saw it on the TV last night(?) where they
said most were still alive;then wake up,and hear OOPS ;all were dead. That is a tragedy in it's self. Maybe we do need censors, just to make sure the right words come out !! Our thoughts and prayers really do,go to those people.
You are VERY,VERY right;something like that SHOULD NOT have happened !!
(either the news,OR the actual happening !!)
