I've got rain coming at me sideways in Sarasota this morning...and the rain is actually HOT! I can't go to the beach because a shark will get me. How about an omelet? Put anything you want in it. I live dangerously - after all, I don;'t have the common sense to leave Florida in the summer.

Maybe we won't do scones together - maybe just chocolate chip cookies - you don't do anything more than dunk them do you? Gag... Guess 50% English isn't quite enough...

Good morning everyone!

Willy, here's some homemade chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies,
plain sugar cookies, M&M cookies. Okay, so I baked more cookies than
asked for.

Breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, cereal, or
peaches & cream oatmeal.

Lunch & supper menu: meatloaf, mashed taters, and sucatash (lima beans
and corn). Dessert will be some of the cookies I baked last night, along with
ice cream.

I was in the 565th Transportation Co. It was a stevedore company and we off-loaded the ships. That was before Sea-Land and it was all break bulk. I was the Company Clerk, which was basicly do the morning report and kick back. Left in November 1965. Hard to believe how many more years that show ran.

Yeah CW did cookies in this heat,if it hadn't been so overcast all day,

Mikey,chicken sounds good,but with all of this hot,humid weather,
we've been relying more on 'cold cuts' than anything else.

By the way, have you ever heard of a concoction of 1/3 peanut butter, 1/3 butter, and 1/3 honey? MAMA (note spelling) used to make it. We used it on toast. Mama (note spelling) had never had it, so I made a bowlfull up this AM while she was at work. She liked it, but asked me if it had a name. I can't think of one but thought maybe some of the more culinary types here had heard of it and know if it had a name. We always had a bowlfull in the fridge when growing up.
Well, time to let the wonder mutt out. She's doing her best puppy dawg eyes impression, even though she's 14 in human years. Willy

We get that all the time - big ol' storms marching up to Lake Ontario, then the lake just kills them. Our last rain was over a week ago. The southern part of my county just got hit with a severe thunderstorm. Didn't even sprinkle here. Pretty spectacular thunderhead, though.

Some root beer does sound good, although a Boston Cooler (Vernor's float) sounds even better...

Hello folks! I've had a BUSY afternoon. Noticed we were running
very low on cookies here, so I've been in the kitchen this afternoon
baking cookies!! I am about done in. Also was fixing supper at the
same time:

roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans and corn.

Also have PLENTY of tomatoes from Produce pickup this morning.
That's about all I got this morning, except for some onions.

Mutt did tell me this morning that we had some rain, and a very good
light show lighting up the entire sky. I didn't see anything or hear
anything until I awoke at 5:15 this morning. With what little rain we
did get, though, it is so cotton-pickin' sticky outside. Have some more
ice cream sandwiches for dessert tonight. Will also have some
freezer pops, as requested by Joe.

Carl your ozone advisory is nothing compared to the greater Philadelphia reagion's ground level O3, it's awful, but not as bad as Camden right across the Ben Franklin Bridge, less than a mile. Isn't that intereresting?/// Our NOx emissions aren't that great though. I think we out do Camden on that one.

Yes it was another hot one here in Philly today but, it wasn't as hott yesterday because we had a nice lovely, amazing down pour. Oh that felt good!! We needed the rain too water levels have been down and crops weren't doing too good here. It wasn't enought to give us flash floods though, I sort of wanted that because I could of gone over to the Susqy (Susquhanna River) and watch it rush, it's reallly neat!!!

Mookie, I think you would be an excellent superintendent!! People could learn some good stuff from you, I have a question though could I be the Gerneral Manager of Operating Practices??? I can show you credentuals if you want. hehehehehe[:D]

Weather update: Had lunch in north central Muncie this afternoon with friends and while inside it started to rain....and rain....and rain. Estimate it rained an inch and a half in the hour plus we spent inside having lunch and waiting to leave. Driving towards home which is 5 1/2 miles from city center {west}, we had to weave in and out to different streets because of street flooding....We worked our way out of Muncie and arrived at our location.....and the streets were dry...Yes, dry...! That much rain in Muncie in roughly an hour and a half and 5 1/2 miles from center city...no rain..!

Still no rain here, to speak of, and I have 88 on the Bug right now (2:00 p.m.). That makes it cooler than yesterday by a few degrees, but you'd never know it. Today we have an ozone advisory. Uncle-in-law is here from California, and complaining (OK, just commenting) about air quality, if you can believe that. We will, however, heed the advice given us by radio, and take the train into the city when we pick up his wife from her Amtrak trip. I hope Julie's right about the projected arrival time!

Our favorite cook is going to have a whole bunch of stars very soon. So we need to decorate and put up a sign and congratulate her when the time comes.

I would make the sign, but don't spel two will, too short to hang it, can't cook worth a darn, and can't do dishes - gets my fur wet and me unhappy. So I will just rest here on a chair and play yardmaster! No - I take that back - Superintendent would be better! Yep!
