Tom,

I guess we could send you a few cookies, especially since
you have now gotten a little rain.
I just checked our rain gauge, and looks like we're up to about
an inch and a half since yesterday evening.

Joe,CW says your BLTs are waiting for you to take to work.

Well it was another hott one here today!! I want some RAIN!!!!!!! Unfortunritly, hurricane Dennis is no longer any more. Darn I was hoping to witness some good old flash floods in the great state of Penn's Woods.

The rain we're getting is not nearly enough to offset the dryness. In fact, I'm going to still use the bike to run my afternoon errands.

Yes, the motto of this place is, "If you go away hungry, it's your own d--- fault!" We had to drop by to discuss table arrangements today, and they fed us lunch (I doubt that we'll be eating any supper after that lunch!).

Guests start arriving tomorrow.

Now Carl, why on earth would you be eating too well this week? Is it, by
any chance, sampling all the reception food for Saturday?!?!?![}:)]

Glad to know that you all are finally getting some rain up there. NOW,
if we just get some to Nebraska, New York, Colorado, and Arizona!!

Lunch today will be BLTs with fre***omatoes, and if anybody wants
any, some fried potatoes, also.

Something went terribly awry during my Train Dance.

The dust is being washed off the plants along the bike path.

The entire village is grateful!

Just a Diet Dew today, please--I'm eating 'way too well this week.

Well, definitely a cooler morning; It really is nice to wake up,
not sweating.
Went out a few ago and checked the rain gauge(real one,not the "mason jar")
From about 1815 yesterday evening to 0930 this a.m.,looks like we've
gotten right at an inch of the wonderful wet stuff.

Mook, check with Tom on the cookies, and it was only supposed to be a
"plain brown" truck load,not a unit train.[:D]

Chris, hope the humidity does come up some more out there.
I do know that the firefighters will welcome as much moisture in the
air as they get.

Good morning all...the ceremonial cleansing of Madison Rose in the tradition of the Wushdecar tribe has not brought the usual results that it normally does. However, it did manage to drop the temperature and winds a bit, and bring up the humidity a tad. Fire containment is at 30%, so hopefully the firefighters can get a good handle this morning with the slightly better conditions.

...........Rain...????? The sun is shining brightly here at 7:30 in Muncie....What does it take to get us rain...A hurricane...? Must take more than that...But I must admit...My rain gauge has .2" of rain in it this morning from over night and they still are predicting a half inch this afternoon and more tomorrow......I'm watching. I need my new grass seed to germinate over the mole field.
Jen......What I did wasn't that expensive and when the trap sprung I didn't dig up the tunnel as I just let that be the resting place for him....Tunnels are flat down on the ground now and covered with seed and topsoil and hopefully more rain...SOON.....!

<~> It is the 3 H's today....and no rain in the forecast. Not until Sept, just like I predicted.

Oh fuzzy feathers - do I need to come out there and rescue you? I could start now and the way I travel - be there in about 6-8 weeks! (just like the postal service!)

Kiss those two wet noses for me!

BC - MC will be providing the entertainment for the diner - he is doing the "chicken" for us after lunch! [(-D]

Q - Driver had a mole removed - no tunnels, but left a scar.....expensive, too!

Now about those cookies! Gonna go "paw" around and see where the dog stashed them! Wonder if he ordered a unit train.......

Moo....

Good morning, everyone! Well, at the current time, we don't have any
rain. Looked out the window just now.

Breakfast this morning will be peaches and cream oatmeal with your
choice of toast or cinnamon toast.

Good thing I don't have to go for Produce today: Lady who heads it is
out of town, or something until next week. Not sure I could have done
it anyway today. Mutt turned the stereo on last night when he got ready
to go to bed. I was awake off and on after that, listening to the John
Denver CDs. Do remember listening to most of his "All Aboard" CD.
The last song I remember hearing was "City of New Orleans."

I just came in--what on dry earth has been going on in here?

Whatever it was, it may have worked--we actually have a chance to get some rain tomorrow. We're nearly six inches deficient on moisture for the year now, so anything--even snow melt in freight cars--is welcome!

MC....Yes, the little dogs can be the real protection...and as you say, ankle bitters. I read up on these moles to see what I was up against, and even tried to sneak up on the area very quietly to see if I could see any tunnel movement, but never none...So out came the trap...{purchased at Menard's} In about 3 days I had them....No luck with chemicals either.

Wushdecar Tribe? -Ya Teh-He!!![:D]

Reverse virga? Hmmmm...this could be useful. Consider:

Where virga occurs, the evaporating moisture causes the atmosphere to cool, and induces (sometimes high) winds. So, if all this water is being shipped from the east, all this newly created wind would be headed westward, and slam up against the front range. At which time, we would of course be experiencing a nice upslope. And we all know what liberal amounts of precipitation can occur when there's a good upslope in place. And the bonus is that all the evaoprated virga will have begun saturating the atmosphere, and get the dewpoint dropping. The result? Copius rainfall!

Ha! Let's get those shipments headed west!

Just got back from spending the day looking out the window at the wiff of cloud cover off the leading edge of Dennis. (Actually the cable has been out.) They are speaking of showers here, but I will believe it when I hear the drops on the window.

Some awsome pics of that Colorado fire from MC's link. One with shooting flames beats anything Hollywood could do for special effects. Step daughter's in-laws live in Pueblo West. Hope there is no threat for that area. He is a retired United Airlines pilot and they don't need another thing to happen.

I'll take a cheesburger and fries, with a shake made with the home made ice cream. Thanks.
