...That warmer air started to arrive here in Indiana as I was headed to bed last night and this morning it is climbing into the low 40's and headed for 52 today. Sunshine is shining right in on my computer now and that inch and a half of snow of earlier this week is going fast...Street is dry. Not a bad January so far....

^^^ - I am doing my ears a little differently today. A girl gets tired of the same old style....Plus if someone drops a cookie accidently, I can hear it better!

Wow - great to hear from Mutt and CW! And the wonderful smells and full fridge and.....makes me want to go lock the door and party! But gotta get Tree in here to cook!

40 this morning at 5:15, but snow headed our way - looks like it will hit more of Kansas than Nebraska and of course, head easterly. They aren't expecting much for us. Wonder how many more years it will be and Lincoln will be home of the Orange/Rose Bowls, since our weather is so moderate? [swg]

Off to work - must start annoying people earlier than usual!

Good to see CW in decent spirits. They certainly deserve our best thoughts and prayers.

Walt and Paula, you guys are with out a doubt in my prayers. I wish you all the best in getting things up and runing again. Hope to see you guys soon....God Bless.

Well, I haven't been in here for three days. I've been very busy at work and doing other activites. These past three days feel like three weeks, I am very tired. But, anyway the most eciting thing that happened to me so far was hummmm.........................nothing. But we did have someone bust through a window last night at my job. The individual broke in and broke open people's tool boxes and stole lose change, from certain boxes. So, we had the police at my job today. There were 5 cop cars in the parking lot. I think we should of went home because of that. We also had a bit of a power outage today, due to strong winds.

Mutt and CW, sure hope things start getting back to status quo for you soon. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers!

Kev, great to see you back in the diner. Hope you can stick around.

Meanwhile, I thought I'd bring some dessert to accompany the Bar-B-Q and Meat Loaf (though the nap does sound appetizing). I made a couple plates of M&M cookies using my Mom's recipe. Didn't quite come out to her standards, but they're not too bad. So enjoy!

Hello everyone!! Here in the Louisville Free Public Library, using the computer!!
Read through all the missed pages to catch up with everyone.

Did make dinner for everyone: meat loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans,
and cole slaw. Made enough to last a couple of days.
(And plenty of fries for Matt)..

Also made fresh batches of vegetable beef soup, and bean & ham soup.
Stocked up on all the breakfast items (bacon, sausage, milk for gravy & cereal)
and pancake mix.

Well, time on the computer is about to expire, so I would like to extend Mutt's
and my sincerest, heartfelt thanks to all of you for your encouragement and
prayers. WE DO NEED THEM, RIGHT NOW!!

Will talk with you later, whenever we manage to get the lights back on. Maybe
later this week, or next week, sometime (kind of depends on the contractor
and the city inspectors.)

You know - with no food in here, we are all wasting away to nothing!

Tree - fire up your barbeque and we will have nekcihc and steaks on the barbie. (you know how upset the resident fowl gets when I refer to relatives as food!)

Nachos for appetizers, salad as a side and a nap for dessert (must save the chocolate cake for the return of CW and Mutt....

Maybe a nap before, too......

Purrfect!

Mook,

Thanks! [:I] That one was from my July, 2004 Yellowstone trip. All I can say I'm glad that I was shooting digital on that trip. I would have blown a LOT of $$$ on him (and everything else in that awesome park) in film and processing!

I'm hearing a bunch of "slide off's", in our area here too this morning on my hand held scanner...Only received 1" last night and a bit of snow flurries left over from it at times this morning...and some sunshine. Bright and 25.1 degrees as I looked a few minutes ago.....Believe that's the extent of it here and it's moving on east.

Ah - good news! I called Walt and Paula (Mutt and CW) and got them out of bed! Had to tell CW it was Mookie before she realized who and where. She evidently has several relatives named Jen.

Had a good visit - they are doing pretty well considering! And that wonderful Kentucky drawl! Next to the flat, no accent midwest - it is good to hear a soft, southern accent.

They had snow, but do have a working furnace so far. And lanterns for light. And a nice neighbor keeping their food refrigerated. Told them the forum members send their best wishes and hopefully things will get fixed very soon. CW said she would try to sneak in and fill the frige for us. I kept having trouble with leaky eyes!

And with such a busy morning - another nap is in order!

Have to make a note to get a new toothpick holder - there's one missing.

Breakfast is served.
