I don't need a dishwasher, I already have a GE Profile Triton. [;)] I DO NEED A MAID. All appliciations gladly accepted. [;)]

Now I must get off of here and start housework or else it won't get done.

OK guys and gals, batton down the hatches. [:0] [B)] [8]

The weather man says that a MAJOR weather pattern change is building up in Canada. It may start affecting the US (northern states) as early as Friday afternoon. Currently the prediction is for lows in the single didgits up north. Here they are saying, we could go below normal for our temps. Sounds like winter may be showing up, late, but still showing up. [:(]

After the much warmer weather we have been having this chill down will definately be hard to take. [V] I hope it doesn't turn out as bad as they are currently predicting. I sure hope mother nature has not fooled our flowers and animals, as it will be as hard on them as it is on us. We will definately know by Sunday if their prediction is true or not, time will tell. [;)]

Well the cheese dip is all gone now. [:p] As I said, it was good, but after 3 days it just isn't the same as the first day.

Now, anyone want to volunteer to help me do housework [?] It seems I can never get caught up. AND to make matters worse, a friend from the Chicago area might be coming down soon to visit. [:0] (No, it is not Carl, but he does work for a railroad [;)] ) Trust me, that is definately motivation. [;)]

I can't say that the maid's pay is good, but the company is fantastic. [:o)] [;)] [:D] Now sent those resumes to me ASAP

OK, I've got a big batch of chops marinating for those who would like to try them. Fire up the grill! The grilling procedure for these babies is to sear them for three to four minutes on each side, then stand them on the bone and cover the grill for 15 minutes.

Hi Folks (or maybe that should be Forks [:o)] get it diner and forks hahaha [:D] ) <Jim made a funny [:o)] [:I] [8)] [^] [:p] >

Ok, people, out of one dozen muffins only 4 left. Gee them little suckers sure are good. [:p] [;)] I have a package of apple cinamon and another one of blueberry. [:p]

It is cloudy today. [:(] Duchess is outside while it is not raining. It looks like it could rain any minute. The temp is somewhere in the upper 50s.

Our January was about 15 degrees warmer on average than it should have been. But, that certainly saved on the heating bill. [^] I just hope the summer is not 15 degrees hotter than normal.

I am having left over cheese dip for lunch. You know how it is, with sausage and hamburger and Velvetta in it, it is way to expensive to waste. [B)] So today will finish it off. It was good, but after 3 days I am getting tired of it.

Well the noon news is on so I am off to view it. [:)]

Take Care.

Carl, sounds like you fix sweet potatoes the way my Mama did: she always had
plenty of butter (or margarine) on in them, and brown sugar, I think; and she al-
ways had Karo syrup to pour over them before adding the mini-marshmallows.

Sweet potatoes need a sweeter sauce. Used to get them done with butter and Karo syrup (probably other stuff, too).

This year I hope to be able to say that I biked to work at least once each month. For February, I'm thinking today's the day! Tomorrow I'm working nights, and after that we get cold weather again.

Joe,

Don't have to go south;maybe just east of us here;
Come to think of it;we could probably go anywhere in the state to get what I think you are talking about !!!!!!

Quentin, not real sure about the "sweet potatoes/yams" but we'll try to do
them for the Diner.(don't really like the taste,;but marshmellows always
are good !!)

...My problem of what I requested is: We can almost never find the yellow sweet potatoes....Almost never...! We are always told they are identified as: Jersey sweets....and perhaps that is correct. We were able to find them much easier back in Pennsylvania then out here in Indiana....Those baked sweets with lots of butter...hmmmm, good...!

Ah much better! I think I can live with that menu. Just never developed a taste for the sea - unless it is Orange Roughy and then I can't afford it! But it is a favorite. So I settle for Charlie of the Sea. Otherwise, I am strictly midwest - meat and taters!

Ergo......Moo....

...I'll try mentioning another "special" today and see how it flies: We'll go with good roasted dark meat chicken, {that's falling off the bones}, sweet potatoes...{Not the stringy red yams, we need the yellow Jersey sweets}....some peas or baked beans will do and bread and butter....Drinks to the liking of each indivdual. Chocolate ice cream desert....{Now Jen, this should fit into your taste much better...}.

Well, good morning everyone! It's now 8:36, and I've been up just a few minutes.
Bed was just tooo comfy to get out of this morning! More coffee is on, and the
juice is freshly made.

Looks like we've got muffins for breakfast, courtesy of Jhh.

Tom, good to see you in here. Are you teaching your two year old all about
trains? Bet you are.

Brian,
Are you coming through Louisville any time soon ?
If so;maybe we need to get our heads together on the "marinade"!!!

As much as I'd love to, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Our son is getting married in Las Vegas in December, and our daughter has indefinite plans for marriage as well, and she'll be the more expensive one, of course- so all of our time and energy over the next year or two will be focused towards those events. My wife does have a cousin living in Cincinnatti that we'd like to come over and visit someday. If a get-together at their house somehow materializes, I'll be sure and let you know. In the meantime, we're limiting our pleasure trips to a couple of forays either to Minneapolis or to Chicago (one of the Christmas gifts I gave my wife was tickets to the play Wicked at the Ford Theater)..

February 1. A very strange day. Temperature here is almost 40 degrees. My Medicare coverage kicks in. I think I will cancel my appointments, go back to bed and stay there all day. (Maybe finish reading Trains.)

Hmmm... very intriguing... although I prefer to taste the beer by itself, right out of the bottle/can. I thought the diner discouraged usage of alcoholic beverages, though.

Actually we do "prohibit" alcoholic beverages here;but since it "cooks off"
during time,we do use it once-in-awhile !! (for sauces,marinades,etc.)[:D]

Well I just made a batch of Banana Nut muffins. [:p] [:)] [^] I am giving them a few minutes to cool down a thad then I am going to slap some butter on them and munch down. [:D]

Q and M [:o)]

I love scallops and shrimp, but not lobster or crab legs. Don't even mention the " O " s. I tried gator once while I was down in Florida. It was tough and rubbery, but everyones says it wasn't cooked properly or it would not have been rubbery.

Has anyone noticed how many topics the new and improved Detective C, alias trainfinder22, alias kissmycaboose7 and a few other aliases has made lately? I think now most people have realized it is him. [:o)] [:0] Like the old saying, "Give a person enough rope and sooner or later they will hang themself." He seems to be taking in more rope. [:)] [;)] [8D]

Well, I watched part of the speech tonight. It was pretty much the same old garbage just warmed up. Funny, he still can't drop the WMD thing. [B)] [8]

Well, I hear the muffins calling.

Take Care.

tomorrow for lunch and supper? I'll fix some baked beans to have with them.
