I remember 1976 tornados that took out Xenia. Spent most of the day in my next door neighbor's basement on the eastside of Indy. Brian, any bad weather in Solon?

Yikes, Jim, that's quite a story.

We dodged that same weather bullet here tonight, but not by much. Tornado touched down briefly in Washington, IA, about 50 miles south of here. We got alittle pea-sized hail. All is calm now, but another windy day is slated for tomorrow. Gotta call it a night here and catch up on my sleep.[zzz]

At best I recall the whole deal took nano seconds. There were no words spoken to the operator, just disbelief of the event. E.M.T, got my heart back to where it belonged. Then the headshed & the neckties took it from there. It was settled out of court with the provision to not to make { waves} >>>nuff said. For a long time lookin' over my shoulder . well you get the drift. Some times life can be difficult . We would like to think those times are gone, as evedent of 5 yrs. & friday. Never but never look over your shoulder, some thing or some one might be gainin' on ya' .

I understand why Indiana wanted out of the Daylight Time. Being on the western edge of the Eastern Time Zone and then adding an hour means it is dark getting up to go to work and the sun is still shining an hour after bedtime. I have often gotten confused about the "local" time when I have been driving through Indiana in the summer time, but now the old cell phone takes care of that problem.

Glad to hear you did not have super serious weather. We got heavy rain and lightning but no wind problems. All quiet for now.

Jay, we've been screwed up on time here in Indiana for years and years...This is our first time with DST in decades.....I will go look at the clock settings and see what all can be done there....Just haven't done so yet. We've been under severe threatening weather for several hours this evening and now the nasty stuff has finally for the most part moved over to Ohio.....Believe Indiana will report some nasty damage upon daylight tomorrow morning.....We dodged a weather bullet here once again....Thank the Lord. It was all around us....Bad stuff...!

Just went over and checked the weather radar. Lots of red rolling up I-43 out of Beloit but it is moving quite fast and will probably be out over Lake Michigan in the next half hour or so. Then another blast of cold clear air from Canada hanging out for the next few days.

Just got back from 3 other pages across the street & down the block . Quite a bit of discussion bout engineers & truck drivers . Have need to get out of stream. I hope you have some crosshatch apple pie w/ ice cream topping and coffee hot . After 5 yrs . & many dollars paid out the Rattler is finally mine , since Friday . Now Peterbilt of St. louis wants me to go in hock for another one . Aint' dat cool ?? , or cruel ?? No way . A disaster at a certain iron& bridge works some yrs. back helped me to get the one we have now. The crane made a new back door ,dash & convertable top on the other truck while I watched . Got a call from my son in WA. His wife is in the St Louis area right now, and was at a mall when they told everyone to get IN THE BASEMENT! Haven't heard if they actually got hit with a tornado, but the roof of a restaurant in the area of the mall ended up on some cars in the mall parking lot....

Obviously, a manual reset is as good as anything, but when you mentioned that your computer clock didn't change, I wondered why. Turns out that the program controling the clock, which I assume comes along with the Windows operating system, lists Indiana as a separate time zone.

"INDIANA-GET IN LINE WITH EVERYBODY ELSE."

Interesting to me that the software program for that did not get an update to fix the little glitch. Leads me to wonder if a future change in the start date for Daylight Savings will result in an online program update.

That and other items of earth shaking consequence.

Jay.....I'll check into the area of "set the clock" and see what all is there as far as adjustments. But I have already simply gone into it and changed the hour setting and now we're in business...The computer is a little over 2 years old and I've never had to set the clock before...{we here in Indiana did not change to DST until today}, and the minutes were always within 2 or 3 sec. of my radio controlled watch so I assumed it would change over last night...{the hour change}, but nothing doing...No problem, we're ok now.

Your computer clock will automaticly change if you tell it you are in Eastern Time rather than Indiana Time.

The problem I have with Daylight time is that there is nob or button to change my body clock and so it is running late for two-three weeks.

A mere 40 degrees here, overcast with a threat of cold rain or snow showers. I am cabin fevered to the max.

In a couple of weeks we are going to Indianapolis to get Matt registered for school and then down to Cincinnati for the weekend. If spring won't come to us, then we will go to spring.

eyes feel like they're full of sand this morning! Stayed up too late, talking on the
phone with someone.

Nance & Bob, hope your anniversary was very good.

Joe, thank you so much for putting the coffee on. And for making the juice this
morning. Think I'll have a glass, along with my coffee. I'll take a couple of those
cinnamon rolls.

Sun is shining here this morning; but, we're supposed to get some more rain
later this evening.

Brian, gonna have to find me one of those Timex watches.

On the menu today will be fried chicken (made sure it was none of Mudchicken's

Brian...{IA}: Yes, the watch changed over in fine fashion during the night...It's a "La Crosse" brand. My weather station is radio controlled too and it did it's job fine, and the older "Radio Shack" unit always performs perfect....Don't have any "modern" clocks in the office here {on purpose]....One is a Waterbury Regulator probably 90 some years old ticking away and it doesn't seem to know how to make the change so I helped it along and it's with the others now ticking away with the correct time....Another right in front of me...{just a quartz battery unit}, required my assistance too...so we're pretty well up and running on the correct time again.....

Sounds like your watch is better than mine in that respect, although I found a Timex with the perpetual calendar (mechanical date that never needs to be reset) that I really like. I do have a SkyScan Atomic Clock on my office wall that automatically adjusts for Daylight Savings. It will be interesting to see how it fares next year when the changeover gets moved up three weeks, as I'm not sure how the changeover point is controlled or recognized.

....Well, now I've set the computer clock...Not sure what is happening there...I've never set it before.....Doesn't matter it reads the new {for Indiana}, time now....This is the first time we've set our clock to DST in many years...Just went into effect today @ per our Gov. {My man Mitch}....Maybe someone else's man....

...Wow....11 clocks and or watches to master over to the new time....3 of them did it all by themselves....{including my watch}....I didn't realize we had that many time pieces aroound the house. What I'm not understanding though is the "clock" right here on the computer....It still is reading 7:18 as I type and it is set automatically...So we'll have to see what happens there. It's the only one yet to be on the "new" time...Oh...forgot one out in the family room...One on the video recorder....Must do that one yet....

If you are wondering, I haven't been around very much as I am waiting for Spring to arrive. I think it got stalled somewhere in the Northern part of Indiana. If it doesn't get moving soon, it may take until August to get here. Does keep the bug population down.

Speaking of August, that would be the right time for a picnic at the Roselle park.
Never know about September. Those sneaky Canadians may send down a blast of cold air.

Ok, CW....I'll not mention the yard mowing too loud...but with fertlizer, and warming temps and last night some rain....It's growing for sure and will require another run over it by Tuesday.
Sarah, you would have a ball on our 30 plus miles of trail {with your inline skates}, as it's on the former CSX railroad grade and of course not much grade to contend with...Smooth paved surfice...It's really great..!
And we hope Jim has been able to apply a good dose of that Wasp spray to the "entrance" of where they are getting under his siding....That is powerful stuff and I believe if he will continue to soak that area it will do the job.

But anywho it sure was a real nice couple of days in the last week then the winds moved in along with the rain and T-storms. But now it feels like fall once again but. I do think the temps are going to go back up by end of the week which will be good cause then we are only one week away from spring break. Modelcar I agree Spring is here! Yesterday was the first day in a long while I was able to ride in my truck with all the window's open!!! I am a bit disappointed that the only snow storm Pennsylvania received this winter was the Big 18 incher, I was expecting a lot more snow than that. So I guess I'll just have to wait until next season to do some snowboarding. NOW.... I can concentrate on agressive inline skating. I might get some done tomorrow, in South Philly at the skate park.

What is this I here about some of the diner members meeting up in Rochelle this Sept or Aug????? I wish I could say that I'm in but, I don't have the money, plus I've got college to attend to. Goodness, I can't WAIT TO GET OUT!!!!! Actually, I can't wait to turn 21.

...Yes, spring is really here....I'm about ready for my 2nd mowing up here in our Indiana latitude...Grass is really nice and dark green and when it is warm it is really growing. Little leaves are out along with yellow freshness on some bushes....
