I won't be around until later tonight, as I'm going to watch an airshow (Blue Angels!), so pizza will be the ideal choice for me. But if others want the pork chops, go for it, as long as it doesn't frazzle the cook!

Joe, thanks so much for making the coffee and juice! AND, thank you for the
doughnuts this morning. That makes a great Saturday morning breakfast.

I'll have cold cuts sandwiches ready around 1 p.m. EDT for lunch, and chips
to go with the sandwiches.

EVERYONE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY 1P.M. IF YOU WANT OUR
REGULAR SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST, CANNONBALL'S SUGGESTION
OF PORK CHOPS, ETC., OR BOTH FOR SUPPER TONIGHT!!

I need to know, so I'll know what all I have to be fixing today!!

Well, folks, supper's been over for a bit; so, who would like a biiiiig bowl of
popcorn? It's a good snack to have (if you're watching the Reds/Astros
ballgame), or just kicking back and enjoying the evening.

Cannonball, thanks for the suggestion. We'll try that tomorrow night, and have
pork chops, mashed taters w/gravy, and watercress salad ALONG with the
Saturday Night Pizza Fest. And we'll have Mississippi Mud pie for dessert.

And maybe, if everyone agrees, we'll set aside each first Saturday as a "name your
request for Saturday night supper. Will everyone agree with this?

And, I have been wishing and hoping for some of this rain to go back out west,
to Arizona, and give all of you some respite from the dryness.

CW Just put it on the account with the meat supplier.

I have been thinking we need to do something a little nicer to bring in the couples crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. So adding some Prime Rib and a few cuts of Porterhouse, N. Y. Strip, Rib Eye, etc., and some nice seafood like shrimp scallops, and some "tail" (lobster of course) [:o)] should do the trick. We can order some nice size baked potatoes and add some simple desserts that look realy fanstatic but are simple to make like Strawberries Galliano .

Sounds like a plan to me. AND we can even use the new outdoor balcony that overlooks the mainline and passenger depot. [:D] It is really a nice place to eat after dark with the candles on the tables and dim lighting that add to the atmosphere. I really think the more romantic will enjoy it much.

Well off I go.

PS CW I love the new cook's moto. [:D]

Good Morning All,

Larry, truer words, er....letters...ummmm acronym...well you know what I mean were never spoken!

CW & Jim, I'll contribute to the Prime Rib fund. Haven't had a good prime rib since last time I was in Sycamore, IL at Sorrento's Restaurant (right across from the Sycamore Speedway). That sounds absolutely fabulous!

Joe, Hope you and Matt have a good "hunt" today. Get lots of pictures if you find it. I always thought the Sperry stuff was really interesting.

Well, it may be Friday, but I still have a pile of work to do, so I must be off. Hope you all have a great day!

And not a moment too soon!

Tea, bearclaw. See a reserved sign on the hammock, so I'll be over in the corner booth, dozing.

Coffee is ready, juice is made.

Jim, if you're supplying the prime ribs, of course I'll fix them tonight. We'll broil them
and have baked potatoes, garden salad, and home fries with them.

They'll also be the prerequisite Friday Fish Fry w/fries, hushpuppies and cole slaw,
for lunch and supper.

But, for right now, it's breakfast time: sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, fried
taters are ready.

Everyone have a great day, and enjoy your breakfast!!

Good Early Morning All

I believe it is a little toooo early to start the coffee so we will wait on that.

Butttttt it is not too early or late to have a piece of the Mississippi Mud Ice Cream Pie. [:0] [B)] [:p] And boy is it good. [:D]

Larry, you started the page, so your supper is on me, errr the house if you will. [:p] Anyway, I was going to see if CW would make a nice Prime Rib for supper tonight, along with the traditional fish of course. I like my Prime Rib . . . MR . That is the best way for it. However, you can have yours any way you like.

Well I think I hear the bed calling. So off I go.

Good evening, all, I'm feeling much more cheerful tonight. I went over to the church earlier and helped the decorating folks change some banners, which in our church hang from the walls somewhere around 25 feet above the floor (we have a sanctuary designed like a modern movie theater, with the congregation seated in an inclined area). They needed someone to climb the long, wobbly aluminum extension ladder, so I volunteered.[:O][D)] Oh well, they claim we won't need to change them again until September.

Joe, hot dogs, saur *** and fries works for me, also, for supper.

Haven't seen a Sperry vehicle around here for quite awhile.

Maybe, if it quits raining, Walt and I can go over to Va. Ave., and watch some
trains later.

Well, I'm back from the store, and since no one gave me any suggestions for lunch
or supper, you'll have to be happy with what I selected for lunch:

hot dogs & saur ***, or you can have tuna melt casserole.

There's plenty of chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert.

Joe, thanks for making the coffee and lemonade this morning.

Zach, that was pretty funny. [:D]

CW, sorry to hear about the truck driver. [:(]

Mookie, welcome back. [8)]

Well this is my Monday. [B)] [8]

I have to remember to check on the 8701 as soon as I arrive at work. Cross your fingers everyone, we certainly don't want to lose one of the last two CNWs. (Even though it is a GE.)

Mookie! You're back! Glad to have you back around here.

Well the wedding was interesting yesterday. Assuming that I ever find a girl who isn't scared of my odd self, the Botanic Gardens is going high on the list of places to hold the ceremony at at. Simply a gorgeus setting. Add nice weather and some classical guitar and it was one of my favorites to shoot at. (Oh yeah...got to play with an EOS 30D and a 1Ds Mk II...both are lovely, well designed cameras. Don't know that I could ever justify the price tag of the latter, but looking through that viewfinder is simply a dream! Wow, after looking through 1.6x crop viewfinders for awhile, I've forgotten how bright and beautiful a full frame finder can be!).

Meanwhile, while we had nice weather the eastern plains were seeing some more interesting stuff. 3-6 inches of hail in spots (enough that snow plows had to be brought out to clear the roads). There was a brief tornado touchdown in Weld Co. And I'm told the lightning show was quite a display. Alas, as I was shooting the wedding, I wasn't able to give chase as a weather spotter / photographer. Guess I'll have to wait until next time.

Well, I guess I've rambled enough. I hope you all have a great day.

TTFN!

Well, happy belated birthday! Be of good cheer. I will share with you what I saw at the Cedar Rapids airport today and it will lift your spirits, I hope.

There was a group of children wearing "I love Daddy" t-shirts carrying brightly colored balloons and waving little U.S. Flags. Of course there were several women with them and they were chatting excitely among themselves. Then there was applause and sure enough, "dad" in his military uniform came down the escalator, walked around the security section and immediately scooped up one of the young girls with cheers and tears abundant within the group, especially the young woman who got the very next hug. A joyful sight.

Tina

You were at the CR Airport yesterday? Hmmm... you must live around here. CR is definitely not a transfer point for any airline. That is a wonderful sight to see. Hopefully we'll all see more of it in the coming months.

Good morning, Mookie! Glad to see you back in here! Hope you like my chocolate cake!

[#welcome] back, Mookie!!!!!!!!! WE MISSED YOU WHILE YOU WERE GONE!!!!

Got something special for you to eat this morning: How does chocolate cake,
w/chocolate icing and vanilla ice cream sound this morning? That is your wel-
come back treat!! Mutt says he'll even let you have some of his chocolate-covered
kibbles, if you want them!! [:-,] If we eat sweets in the morning, we'll burn off the
calories thoughout the day, so no extra weight gain, right?!?!?!

Seriously though, we do have a regular breakfast this morning: turkey bacon,
sausage, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, and biscuits are ready to be eaten.

Temp this morning is right at 70 degrees this morning. Have a 70% chance of
T-storms for most of the day, probably starting around noon time.

Had a railroad accident over on the L&I yesterday, around Speed, IN. Semi turning
into a cement plant got hit by a northbound train. Unfortunately, the driver didn't
make it. For more info, you can go to:
http://www.courier-journal.com

Guess that's about it for news, this morning. Anyone got any ideas for me for our
lunch today? Maybe supper, also??

Dinner at our house tonight, tacos, burritos, and chips and salsa. Watching a video while we eat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jvt9WiD1b0 . Nothing like a CSX GE taking a plunge. Too bad the unit survived.

Supper tonight is on the light and cool side: large garden salads. It's too
hot to be doing a lot of cooking.

We do have vanilla, strawberry, death by chocolate, and regular chocolate
ice cream for dessert, along with some chocolate cake left.
