Good morning all......Monday is starting off with a fresh clear note here....A/C, finally turned off last evening and windows open...!

To be somewhat cooler now for a few days and it's welcome.

Hope to resume trimming shrubs this morning since the heat has modified.  But we are really getting dry here.....and not much chance for rain at the last forecast I saw last evening.

For now....it's out to the family room and TV with "Morning Joe".  {And coffee}.

Good Monday morning, everyone.  Had a pretty nice weekend, and it looks like we'll have a very good week ahead:  cooler temps and very nice weather this week!  Wednesday, they're saying our high will be in the low to mid 70s.  After the oppressiveness of the last two, three weeks, that will be good.

Coffee, juices, lemonade, and hot water for tea are ready.  So is fresh brewed iced tea, both sweetened and unsweetened.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage (links & patties), scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, cantaloupe chunks and watermelon chunks, and there's several different boxes of cereal on the counter for you all to select from.

Mookie, here's your coffee mug, all ready and waiting for you!

Think I need to check in with my sister-in-law today.  We should be hearing news on a new arrival any day now.  Speaking of new arrivals, I wonder how Dan's wife, Misty is doing.

Justin, glad to know your mom is doing o.k.  Maybe this week, the people who have been bringing you all food, will bring something beside pasta dishes!  If I lived closer to you, I'd fix you all some chicken & dumplings, or beef stew and cornbread, or something.

Larry, sorry to hear that your nice weekend ended on such a bad note.  Maybe you'll have a better day today, with no accident runs.

Everyone enjoy your breakfast, and have a great morning.

Well, the air show went well.  Some scattered raindrops on Saturday, but Sunday stared out fabulously, although it did cloud up by the end of the show.

The highlight of the entire show was the twilight show on Saturday.   One team used their landing lights to excellent effect.  You had to see it - it was fantastic.

Jo Dee Messina was OK, but I didn't watch the entire concert.

Unfortunately I finished the day with a response to a bad accident.  Looks like there were several factors involved, so assigning blame is going to be tough.

I'm bushed.  Time for bed.

Evening all!

The Open House at the Car Show went well... Might have a new member! The weather was great and the turnout was better than ever!

On a sad note, What is going on this past week. We now have 4, count em 4 dead celebs. Ed, Farrah, Michael and now Billy Mays (The Oxi Clean guy). And to shed some humor on the situation, here is a comic I found from Rooster Teeth.

Have a good week!

Hi all!

We haven't been able to get the internet up these past few days. CW, your cooking has been greatly missed by me. We have over 4 kinds of various pasta dishes in the fridge now. I'm sick of pasta. I feel like a peice of pasta....

People from mom's work have been bringing us food. (mom's still off work form surgery) It has been nothing but pasta. Well, at least we have such nice people to bring us food! Still, I can't wait for the roast!!! A very nice day today! Not hot or humid! A nice cool breeze is blowing through the house. The first day in a few weeks A/C hasn't been on. 1 week 6 day's till vacation!Big Smile

Have a good evening!

Justin

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  The birthday surprise celebration went well.  Although, the guest of honor about had a heart attack, when she walked intothe hall and saw her ex-coworkers from three of her former jobs, along with seeing us there.  She was definitely thinking, "What's going on here?!?!"  Everyone had a great time, and had plenty of good food.

Joe, thanks for getting everything ready this morning.  When we got home last night, after the party, we found out our house phone was dead again.  Got on the cell phone and called the repair service.  Their computers were down, so couldn't run a test on the line.  Guess it came back up a little after 8 this morning.  I was out taking my morning walk.

Johnny, no I don't have the other brace yet.  I figure it'll probably be about another two weeks before I hear from them:  about the time the heat and humidity return.  (This coming week is supposed to be very pleasant, with highs in the low to mid 80s, and lows in the low 60s. )  I'll be sure and let you all know whenever I get the dang thing.

For Sunday Dinner, we'll have:  roast, taters & carrots w/beef gravy, green beans, broccoli w/cheese sauce, creamed corn w/homemade buttermilk biscuits or homemade cornbread, you choice of cole slaw or fresh garden salad, and there's also some fresh sliced red tomatoes.

Dessert today:  apple, blueberry, cherry and strawberry cobblers w/ice cream.

Everyone have a great morning, and see you after awhile.  Take care!

Howdy. Joe, I would have liked to have seen the fireworks. We very seldom have such here. Individuals, on the other hand, raise sand whenever a reason comes along. Somebody behind me had a cannon or something a few years ago. Sounded like a 5 inch 38 navy gun, complete with concussion! 77 already, and clear in Carolina with an expected high of 100 and a heat index of 104. Everyone stay cool and safe.

Johnny, I hope Ricki likes her new chair.  There are times when I have trouble getting out of my rocker/recliner.  I have more trouble getting up off the couch, though.

Paula, Ricki thanks you. The chair is to be delivered sometime Tuesday, so Ricki has not really tried it yet. Apparently you make use of chair arms as she does when getting up; she has to be careful about where she sits.

Have you received your new brace yet?

Speaking of surprise parties, Ricki turned eighty this past February. Katie, her older daughter, invited us to eat lunch the day before (Sunday) her birthday, and Ricki understood it would be at Katie's house. However, Katie told me that it would be at our church, and asked me how to get in touch with several ladies who had also worked for the Census Bureau when Ricki was interviewing people all up and down the Wasatch Front every month (these ladies get together every now and then and rejoice in having retired from that job). So, when we went downstairs after the morning service, Ricki was astounded to see her friends and family in the church basement.

Joe, thank you for fixing/making up the pizzas for tonight.  We're running a little bit late, but I decided to come in and bake the pizzas and put them out on the warmer bar.  Three extra large of each of the different pizzas.  One of each kind is baked and on the warmer bar.  The other two of each are in the freezer.  (But I doubt we'll have that many in here tonight, so that will mean we'll be a little bit ahead on the pizzas for next Saturday.

Everyone enjoy and have a great evening.  Take care of yourselves, and good night.

 Morning all!

Hope everyone is doing well! Today is sunny and looks to be near 80 here in Rock Springs.

Headed down to our Freight Depot today to have an open house in conjunction with the Rods and Rails car show that they are holding on the street there. It should be a really fun day. Maybe headed over to Flaming Gorge days in Green River this evening for the festival in the park and the Concert.

Mornin all....

Went to the NTPA truck and tractor pull yesterday, got some nice shots, especially of the semi class, might post one later depending on weather, have some rain moving through at the moment, with more forecast for later, which could cancel the shows for today.

Other than that, has been fairly quiet in the area, and hot.

See everyone later....

....A rather quiet Saturday morning here in our Muncie fringe area {west} of town....Bright sunshine and upper 70's now, but really feels warm.  Possibly some thunder activity by tonight, but not too promising.  We do need some rain.  This very hot week can evaporate it rather fast....Probably headed for upper 80's today.  91 plus yesterday, and of course with typical humidity.

Mole field quiet, but I'm still closely monitoring.

Good morning from Minneapolis. Rain here and  67 degrees. We haven't had rain for two months so this is a welcome sight. Went to the celebration of 5 years of the Hiawatha Light Rail yesterday. Now everyone in the Twin Cities wants their line. This has been a long process as the houses for the line were bought and demolished in the '70s.

Good day for inside work. Have a nice day all!

Good Saturday morning, everyone.  Tom, you're absolutely correct:  another hazy, hot and humid day around here, also.  Temp is supposed to get to 93 today, with a heat index in the 95 to 103 range.  It will be a very good day to stay inside, under the fan.

Johnny, I hope Ricki likes her new chair.  There are times when I have trouble getting out of my rocker/recliner.  I have more trouble getting up off the couch, though.

Coffee, and other beverages are ready; and on the warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes with several different kinds of syrup, or you can have fresh strawberries w/strawberry juice, on your pancakes this morning.

Walt, Sarah and I are supposed to go to a Surprise 81st Birthday Party this evening, for our next door neighbor.  She turned 81 back in March, and her kids are just now having the birthday party for her.  So, someone else may have to take charge of the Saturday Night Pizza Fest

You all enjoy your breakfast and have a great day, doing whatever you need to do today.  And take care being out in the heat.  Don't want anyone getting heat stroke, and stay hydrated.

I went to see my latest surgeon again this morning--and she looked at the external evidence of her handiwork, and told me that she didn't think that I needed to come back, but to be careful for a while yet. This afternoon, we went out and bought an ejector chair for Ricki; she has been having much difficulty in getting out of her living room chair (swivel rocker, which she has enjoyed for more years than we can remember). she had tried an ejector cushion in the place of the chair's cushion, but it was not comfortable for her.

We had rain again yesterday afternoon, and off and on today. Tomorrow is supposed to be fair, so I may get to painting my house "shutters." Warm, into the eighties, yesterday, and cool (high sixties) today.

Took a trip down to Syracuse today to see the new grandson.  He's growing like a weed and starting to be more aware (although he's still fascinated with those torchiere lamps in the corners...).  Managed to get in some hands-on time (including a diaper change - my SIL says I'm hired) between feedings and naps.

Got my father's day present, too - a 16x20" picture to replace my daughter's graduation picture over the mantle.  There was already a picture of my granddaughter up there - which replaced the picture of her father that had hung there since his graduation.

While I was there NWS was making all sorts of dire predictions for severe weather, none of which I managed to see, even though it looked like both my daughter's place and my place were, at various times, directly in the path of some pretty nasty looking stuff.  It all fizzled out before it got to us...

Long day tomorrow - air show followed by a concert by Jo Dee Messina and some fireworks.

Time for bed.

Funny thing happened on my way in here this morning:  Laughdiscovered land line phone was dead.  So, since we have DSL, couldn't get on the internet.  Not sure when the phone came back on.  I got my cell phone to call the repair service, and my cell needed to be charged.  So, I got Mutt's cell to make the call.  Wink

We had a couple of thunderstorms overnight.  First one, about 11:30 and the second one came in around 3:15 this morning.  Such loud thunder both times, it woke me up out of a sound sleep (and the fan in the bedroom on medium high speed, which normally drowns out all noise).  About the time I finally got back to sleep, the radio came on at 4:50 a.m.

I'll be back in about an hour, with the lunch menu.  Everyone enjoy the morning, and take care.

I think that Quentin prefers his method as he strives to be awarded "Molekiller of the Year." It's much, much neater

Johnny, I don't seek said title, but I seem to be approaching it anyway....Hopefully, we're in the final stages of this project.

Tom, it seems we're starting our mornings a bit warmer then you folks are down in the Carolina area......and of course lots of humidity to go with it.  This has been a hot week here in our part of the world.

Running about 10 or 12 degrees above normal.

Lawn looks so nice now, but if we don't soon get some rain, we'll be finding some brown spots developing in it...Thunder boomers did move across some {probably should say, developed across}, Indiana yesterday afternoon / evening, but not here....We're still dry.
