Sorry I haven't been in much today, but have had a very bad headache since mid morning.  Did not want to look at a monitor.

Here is tonight's supper menu, courtesy of Dan's request:

1.  cod, perch, salmon, jumbo shrimp, oysters

2.  steak:  t-bones, sirloin, rib eye, chicken tenders

3.  Side dishes:  cole slaw, fries, hushpuppies, corn on the cob, baked potatoes

Desserts:  brownies w/whipped cream, chocolate cake, yellow cake w/caramel icing

Enjoy your supper, everyone, and have a great evening.

They are!  For their size, they were lifting pretty big slabs of concrete into a dump truck.  Do we call them skid loaders - anyone know?

Tom, I had to have that operation about 5 years ago, (both eyes) guess I really do see

better now after the implants....was very nearsighted; now am farsighted!

They did one, one week; and the other the next; patch on over night CW putting

drops in them every so often; no glasses for about a month; (no actual reading either)

reading glasses for abouth a month; then back to dr. to have eyes examined again;

and prescription glasses with not quite so heavy lenses.

For Dan:

Q:   Know how to tell a Happy Motorcyclist?

A:   Count the number of bugs in their teeth!!

Dale, we've got a crossing quite similiar to that about three blocks from our house;

(NS/CSX joint trackage (ex K & IT)) it's been the scene of more than just"dents" over

the last twenty years.

Good day,

I got to see a train strike a parked car here yesterday afternoon. I was 3 blocks away watching a short freight cross the road when I heard a smash. The car got a dent and two flat tires from being bumped sideways. It was just a short train, with two GP9s, 3 grain cars and a propane tankcar. The northbound train crew had to watch back to back crossings, with the second one at a sharp angle. I guess the guy figured there would not be a train between the northbound RDCs at 11:00 am and their return at 3:00 pm.

Okay, time for lunch.

Mornin'!  I got some 'stick time' in on the Honda today...not too bad, the whole wind in your hair thing...but someone (me) forgot about the whole lakeflies in proximity to the lake thing.  That wasn't too much fun...and it didn't taste too good!

Cup of OJ and something hot...then lurking!

CW - daughter takes TKD and is a 1st degree black.  Driver karate and 3rd degree black.  He was in our state games and won gold, silver and bronze.  So he did ok and was getting ready to test for 4th when injury occurred.  Sparring is not his problem.  It is the low stances required in kata (forms) that he can't do anymore due to torn muscle.

So he could defend himself, but can't do the forms.

Thanx for bagel - multigrain looks good.  Back to watching works get ready to pour concrete!  Wonder if they need me to whistle at them?

....Muncie day starting with 65 degrees and bright in eastern sky, so looks like a repeat of last bunch of days.  That means mid 80's this afternoon or maybe a bit more...

Olympics....Be glad to get them over with so I can get back to my early morning routine....watching some of {at least}, "Morning Joe".  And the conventions are upcoming and must keep abreast of all that hupla....

No rain in forecast here yet....and it's getting dry.  But we're off to another day and that's a good thing.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Coffee, juices are ready, along with hot water for tea.  And the there's also fresh lemonade and fresh iced teas.

Mookie, here's your coffee mug w/ nice fresh, hot coffee in it.  And, here's a couple of bagels for you, as well.

On the breakfast bar this morning:  all the regular items on the breakfast menu.

Mookie, how would Driver do in Tai Kwon Do (sp?) at the Olympics?

Oh no!  No olympics!  I can't tell him that!  He has been practicing for the elbow whacking/knee smacking/toe stubbing events lately!  It is the only entertainment I have - watching a normal size man trying to get through a door or get dressed w/o practicing one of the above!

Good evening all ye fine people, and hello to the others.... I had to go to the eye quack today, and he advises that I have a caddarack caterack paddywhack problem with my left eye. It looks like I will be having surjury sugary sirjidy a operation on that eye in the next year or so. Such good news for a Tuesday. One good thing, I don't have to worry about the spelling anymore. I will just blame the eye quack. 88 and clear in Carolina this evening. It looks like Fay will fizzle before it even gets close, but Georgia and Alabama can use the rain too. Take care

Tuesday Produce people weren't too bad today.  We ended up with about 86 people.  The truck brought:  green beans, tomatoes, carrots and greens.  I think the greens are mustard:  they're all crinkly looking.  Have them on the stove now, cooking.

Dan, I wasn't sure if you all would like something different today; but, I've got The Tuesday Mexican Fiesta now on the warmer bar:

Tacos (hard shell & soft shell)

Burritos:  beef enchilada, beef & beans, and plain beef burritos

Tamales

Spanish Rice

Quesadillas

Enchiladas

Fajitas

Chimichangas

And shredded lettuce w/onion & tomatoes for a side dish, or put on top of whatever you pick from the menu.

And, of course, the tortilla chips w/salsa, picante sauce, and con queso

Everybody enjoy, and have a great afternoon!

....No Jen, didn't mean to imply "unpaved street"....just that it is in dire need of paving after 27 years since it's been paved.  At that time we received "city sewers" and all the streets were paved after that project was completed in our addition.

We are in an addition between Muncie and Yorktown and a few years ago we were annexed into the latter.  We are built around a golf course Just north of the original small town of Yorktown....and streets appropriately around fairways, etc....and it makes for nice bike riding.  Now, with this {our}, street that will be enhanced by new paving.  To make that better yet, our street connects {both ends}, to streets that have been repaved these last few years...Hence, continous route with good paving for bike riding.....again.

Muncie pop {and it has been loosing} since we were heavy on auto parts manufacturing is now about 70,000.  Old original little town Yorktown and all new annexed areas now equal about 10,000.

Edit:  Yes, it's Garfield and Ball State University....and they are moving back in right now...!  That brings about 18 to 20,000  students.

....Viewing from the McD's parking lot here in west Muncie last evening as we often do...witnessed a very long total covered grain car train {loaded}, come thru from the west on the NS Frankfort line.  Seems this time of the year that activity really does increase.

Don't know if it is heading to the east coast for export or not, but someone is receiving lots of grain.....of some kind.

.....Another sunny start here in Indiana....Had to restart A/C yesterday as the humidity was working it's way back in.  I assume the same is occuring today.  Have not been outside yet.  Temp now, is 65....so that means 85 plus for us today.

Attended our town's Council meeting last evening and it got rather lively.  Very interesting.  There was a toss of a coin {so the deputy town manager said of which 2 streets involved were to be paved, among others.  I really do believe by us being there it will be our street....!  {Because he promised us several times earlier}.  And he had to get up and do the report about it....Contracts are to be let on the 29th.  Wow, maybe the bicycle can be used again after all....

Good Tuesday morning, everyone!  A pleasant 70 degrees outside this morning, going for a high of 90 around 6 p.m. EDT.

Ahhhhh, looks like we were hopping in here last night!  That's what I like to see:  everyone coming in, and enjoying themselves!

Coffee and juices, lemonade and teas are ready to go; and on the breakfast bar this morning:  How about some cereal (several kinds to select from), turkey bacon, pork sausage, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, chunks of cantaloupe & melons, bagels and bear claws.

At 5 a.m. had people parked outside for Tuesday Produce; there is no sense, being out there,  three  hours before I even go out to start putting names on the sign-in sheet.

What would you all like today:  Mexican Fiesta, Oriental, Italian, etc.?  Letting you all tell me what you would like to have for lunch and supper tonight!

See everyone after Produce is over!!

Yep - Fuel pump is in the tank.  My friend the mechanic (who I called first) suggested that I rap on the bottom of the tank with a hammer (preferably while someone tries to crank it, but I was alone).  The guy at the dealership that fixed it said the same thing!  It didn't work.

Works now.

Thunderbumpers in the area, several trees down.  We just cut one up that was blocking half the lane of a state highway.

Have to see if things settle down later.

....On the subject of trucks and repair.....My little truck had a balance problem at a certain speed and the dealer installed a new drive shaft.....$1100....!!  But no problem....had an extended warranty on it and bingo....that paid it.

Later, still fighting {some}, of the problem....they replaced the center bearing {drive shaft}, didn't see the price of that and the warranty covered it and the balance problem is much, much better....
