Bet the "Scotties" were happy to be inside!!!! (Beware when they try to "shake" themselves dry!!)
There's Plenty of Hot Cider & Cocoa around, 'specially for you!
Don't forget that there's an abundance of "Gator Ade" on the premises! (heated!!)

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Good Sunday morning, everyone! Had a heck of a time getting in here this morning. When I finally got in the main door, the cafe door was stuck, and had to really work to get it open!
Doghouse, you come and grill some frog legs, and I'll try one or two. Better yet, how about frying some rabbit? (Wild rabbit, not tame, pet rabbits.)
Coffee, hot cider, hot tea and freshly made oj/oj-tangerine/apple and grape juices are ready, and have milk ready to heat for hot chocolate.
On the warmer bar: turkey bacon, sausages, homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, tater tots and scrambled eggs.
And, if you inhale, you will smell what's going in the Crock Pots: Chicken and Pork Chop Abracadabera (sp?) Decided to brown chicken and then put it in the Crock Pot like I do the pork chops. So in two Crock Pots, there's Chicken and in the other two, Pork Chops.
You all have a great morning, and see you later.
Oh, since weather is always on our minds, here is a small taste of what we are experiencing up here where I live. Snow fall totals this season in our area as of 8:00 pm Saturday (3/1/08): 144.5 inches with 14 inches expected through Sunday. I could use one of those extra large snow blowers.
Here you go: You need a weber or some other sort of tall bbq grill. You grill them the same way you would a turkey. Weber sells a divice that puts the coals on the side of the grill. In the middle there is a place for a drip pan. Start your coals before you put in the divice. Once well lit, place about 12 coals on each side of the divice (it has a name but I don't know what it is). The legs cook on the top grill. The person I learned this method of grilling frog legs used a home made stand he welded together from thin pieces of steel. A little thought and a suitible copy can be constructed. The trick is to stand the legs meat side up, towards the top of the grill lid.
About every 1/2 hour, add 6 coals to each side. Continue for about 3 and 1/2 half to four hours. Watch your heat. Too hot and you burn the meat. Done when the meat is a uniform medium grey color. Baste any way you like. Garlic, thyme, salt, fresh ground pepper and a dash of Great American Land and Cattle seasoning is hard to beat. "Ron" is from louisiana, so he knows something about frog legs. I introduced him to Great American seasoning, so he uses it now on every cagin (sp) dish he cooks.
Good late evening everyone. Thanks for the calzone!
Weather is getting warmer and we're getting temperatures into the 60's now. In fact, the trees are starting to bloom, too.

That sounds interesting, I wouldn't mind trying them that way.
Now have you perfected a way to keep them from jumping out of the skillet?!
Turtle and Rattlesnake are very good, if no one told you what it was before hand,
you'd probably think you were eating some kind of poultry.
2 large pizzas please.matt and I have had a great day of trainwatching.
Chicago style and Chocolate Cream pie with real meringue. I'll have an ice tea with the pizza but will bring in some milk to have -later- with the pie. Don't want the pie too soon after the pizza. spoils them both if you rush it.

Snapping turtle stew!!!
My Dad and I would finish a business day in Philly (I was about fourteen) with dinner and then drive back to Reading and home.
There were the two seafood places with the slightly altered family (they always distinguished themselves from the other) names that I can't remember, McShea's with a pub-like leather bench seat drinking crowd, and then there was Shoyer's (4th and Arch maybe?). It depended on which part of town we finished or where the station wagon/truck was parked.
Shoyer's had walls made invisible for all the paintings and photographs hung on them and they served as my introduction to "haute cuisine" . NOT Terre Haute you Hoosiers! Jean Shepard might have said that already. If he did, here's to him.
Anyway, Dad wanted me to try the SNAPPING TURTLE STEW which he was ordering. It arrived with two shot glasses of sherry. It was the best meal I'd had in my life to that date, put me to blissful sleep, and spared Dad from my homeward railroad related chattering.
rixflix aka Captain Video. Blessed be Jean Shepherd and all His works!!! Hooray for 1939, the all time movie year!!! I took that ride on the Reading but my Baby caught the Katy and left me a mule to ride.
Frog legs are too greasy tasting for me, so I'll leave them alone. Now, if Chuck Norris brings me some already cooked rattlesnake, I might try it. Otherwise, no way, Josea!!
I have the pizzas just about ready for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest. On tonight's menu:
1. Anchovie2. Cheese3. Chicago style4. Goetta5. Hawaiian6. Pepperoni/mushroom7. Pepperoni/sausage/onion, extra cheese8. Supreme9. Calzones
For dessert tonight: coconut cream pie, chocolate meringue pie, and cherry pie ala mode
Enjoy your pizzas and desserts, and have a great evening!
.....Wow.....Maybe frog legs.....but maybe you better direct those other two to Ed...{ha}....Yewwwwww on the Turtle ..... Rattlesnake. Wouldn't touch that with 2 10' poles...!!
On the March weather....we can handle that ok....I know it can be almost anything. It's a transition month and whatever it does, it doesn't last long.

Q, does Red Lobster serve Frog Legs, Turtle & Rattlesnake? Those are good as well.
Sunny and about 50 degrees here right now, looks like today is going to be one of the
nicest for awhile, more rain and stuff moving in this next week.
We've put Jan. & Feb. behind us now, it will be nice to put March behind as well.
I get very tired after a March of 31 days!
Good Saturday morning, everyone! Feeling pretty good (so far) this morning, after a good night's sleep. Didn't wake until until 7:00 EST.
Joe, thank you ever so much, for fixing breakfast, brewing the coffee, and making juice. Think I'll help myself to two or three sausages and about four pancakes, with plenty of syrup over the pancakes. Enjoy your day watching trains. I want better weather around here, so I can go watch trains again.
I'm going to have to remember to get some scallops, and add them to our Friday Fish Fry menu!
good morning
juice coffee and hot chocolate are ready to go.also have pancakes egggs and sausage.matt and I are going to see some trains somewhere.will be back later for pizza .
5:00 AM in AZ and I am 'hitting the ground running' as a Missouri Rail is coming to visit about nine and I have to dig out some stuff we have talked about that he wants to see.
CW, I will check in for breakfast later. By the way scallop lovers, they were sauteed (sp), about silver dollar size and served on a spinach cream base. Mutt, if they are brain food I should be in top form today.

its the one where you can buy a vowel..time for bed for us.going to be a long day tommorow.
Okay Joe, in that case I'll buy an "E", it's about time for that here also.
That is a very curious question, was it a 5.0 liter? Sarah got to "test drive" one of
the "new" Ford "Ponies." (with Turbo and 6 forward)
[she said it must be one of those new hybrids that are out on the market and you only
have to worry about two fuels for it; gas and rubber!!]
//Edit:
diningcar, don't worry, as a rule, we don't go around talking about people here.
Q, I've always heard that Scallops were "Brain Food," helps make you smarter!
(if they're done right, they taste VERY good!)
.....Scallops...{deep fried}, now that is good food.
Paula and friends,
I said I would not be in for supper tonight and I wish to report that I am overstuffed with scallops and some wonderful accompanyments (sp). Anyway that is Friday night with friends and I shall be back at the Flat Wheel for breakfast.
Friday night have always gotten me in trouble - no questions please. But I shall be available for duty tomorrow. MC, don't you be telling any stories you may have heard. You know Chico's people are inclined to exagerate occasionally and I hope none of that rubbed off on you.
Joe ~~~ that vowel , does it have a 3.8 liter or a 5.0 liter engine???
LOL Cannonball
Y6bs evergreen in my mind
Joe, tell Matt he's quite welcome, but we need to get our schedules together; he needs
to clean the top before I get underneath! Hopefully we'll ALL keep the Popcorn off
the floor.
Which "wheel show" you got on? We have "Walker" on here right now.
Mutt
matt says thanks for cleaning below the layout.he's cleaning the tracks above right now.the popcorn should be ready at 7:00 est.We usually have some when a certain wheel show is on tv.
Dan, if you're going to "Lurk" under the layouts, please make sure that you don't leave
any crumbs from the breading on that fish!!! (I just vacuumed under there!)
Hope that new job offer does go well; but am like Joe, don't get too distracted with
the Trains!!
//sneaks a small piece of perch
