Oh, IA Brian....Mischief [:-,]  Just watched huge thunderheads headed right around the north edge of Lincoln and right into Iowa.  And another group of huge thunderheads headed south and west around the other side of Lincoln toward MO - they may clip KS, but my $ is on MO.  Willy you would have loved watching them.  They were gynormous.  Never once did they go overhead here.

Going to breakfast and then the 3 Blysard girls and the Driver are going shopping and Houston Ed and I are going to go sneak up on a few trains.  Hope they are still running at least a little.  Could be a long couple of hours if we just sit and look at the empty rails!  Then I am going to take them over to meet the old railroader.  He will be 91 in a couple of months and I am dying to see if he will tell some of his old railroad stories.  If only I could bottle that....

Ferro - from the Latin for Iron

Equin - From the Latin for Horse

ologist - Not sure of the origin, but it denotes "one who studies...."

Good evening, everyone!  Sorry about not being much after this morning.  Went to the library and grocery between thundershowers, and took a nap.

Our regular Friday Fish Fry is now on the warmer bar.  All the regular list of fish, and all the regular sides are on the warmer bar, with the cole slaw and salads in the cooler.  We also have all the regular pies for dessert, along with chocolate cake and yellow cake w/caramel icing.

Everyone have a good evening.  Mookie, know you'll be having a blast with the Blysards visiting!!

Brian, how's Joanie doing?  Hope her recovery is progressing nicely!

Tom - I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Hopefully the doctor can do something to make you feel better in a jiffy.

Ditto on both counts, except that I have a wife recovering from surgery (I wish we were preparing for a vacation).

Heck, I'd like to pay you a visit, but you'd probably have to move the decimal point a place to the right to cover my gas....  Besides, I'll need it right here...

My summer will take me back to MD (attending big fire thing in Balto with son, plus my mom coming in to visit her great-granddaughter), and a trip to MI a couple weeks later for a class reunion.  Mom may tag along on that, too, as she'll still be in the area.

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Looks like no one was in here last night.  So, I have cleared off everything from the warmer bar, cleaned and washed it down.

On the breakfast bar this morning:  bagels, doughnuts, bear claws, sausage, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, hash browns, biscuits and sausage gravy.

You all have a good morning.

Started the pork chops off by browning them in my big skillets, then transferred them to a very large pan, atop the dressing, and poured c of m soup over it all.  Now, it's all on the warmer bar, ready for you all to dig in!  And for anyone who doesn't want pork chops, along with leftover beef stew & cornbread, there's open-face roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters & gravy, and all the sides for today to choose from.

Now, where's Mookie?!?!?!  Tom and Quentin, go ahead and help yourselves.  I'm sure others will start coming in shortly.

.....A late morning entry here....just ready to turn 70 degrees.  A moderate temp., sunny day and low humidity.  Believe this is a mowing day.

May the floodwaters drain away from those that have been plagued by it but look out down thru the southern area where the Mississippi flows.  I'm sure all that water from this vast area will cause trouble getting to the Gulf.
