Well, early this morning I got my pics and computer disk from Walgreens. I thought I only got one shot of the 3985 under way but found 2 shots in the developed pics. The only problem is they forgot to put the pics onto the disk so I have to make another trip there and ask them is they know what they are doing? I am beginning to wonder if they do. Some of you might remember that late last year they sent my pics home with someone else. It took about 1 1/2 weeks to finally get my pics, and if the person who got them would not have returned them--I never would. I am convinced that the computer virus I had (causing me to have to reformat my hard drive and loose everything on it) also came from there. Just after I loaded their pic disk did my trouble start. Needless to say, I am not too happy with them right now. [:(!]

When they finally get their act in order and get me my disk then I can email them out to the people on my addy. If you are not on my addy list and want to be just email me and I will be glad to add you. [;)]

Patiently waiting for my disk with pics N O T. [:(!]

Saw more UP power on CSX in Pittsburgh. An eastbound coal drag had a pair of UP widecabs (couldn't tell exactly what they were) on the point.

Well, let's see....

Day one....Alot of stuff going into San Bernadino CA including what looked like a dark blue U-Boat and two slugs doing switching at the Intermodal yard. Also Amtrak came limping in with a line Superliners and MHCs with the two GEs on point being lead by two BNSF 4 axle GEs. Also got to see the UP/BNSF parallel main lines in the area, clobbered with double stacks. Saw two private Geeps at grain elevators in CA.

Day two... BNSF double track main along I40 through AZ, NM, and into the panhandle. Think the snow had stuff backed up through Flagstaff. Double stacks stopped on the main about every 5 miles for hours. Also saw a Sperry Hi rail truck and a rail detector car putting along.

Day three.....snow too bad couldn't watch trains .....driving hard enough.

Day six....UP doing track work like mad from Muskogee OK to TX. Every conceivable piece of track equipment ever developed. UP putting some serious work into the line. UP main long I20. Double stacks and auto racks running about 5 miles behind each other west bound. Pooled power ruled UP (SP/DRGW), CSX, NS (conrail) and lease units. SD40-2s/SD40-2Ts all over the place and I swear I saw a high nose (SD9....) Tried to do a double take but couldn't. Also saw alot more 4 axle units on the main than I expected. GEs with EMDs, ACs with -2's, mixes of 4 and 6 axles. It was all there.

Day seven..... UP main along I10 through TX, NM, AZ........Good mix of stacks, auto rack and general freight. Really high traffic. Saw a line of gray unmarked 4 axle Uboats in El Paso at the UP terminal. In NM passed a general that was a railfan's delight. One car at least of everything......a group of stacks, boxcars including some what looked like 40 footers (NOKL?), WP, CNW and MP boxes, a mix of every RBOX scheme and type from the 80s on..hoppers one of which was a ROCK, coil cars, tanks of every shape and size.......and leading it was a SD40-2, a tunnel motor, big GE and.......a 4 axle SP UBoat blowing smoke like, well you know.... I also saw a string of I guess ballast cars..they looked like thrall side coal gons with dump chutes on the bottom. I can't recall the name on them though. But they weren't UP it was a private company....Heath or something like that....if anyone can shed light on it ......Also saw five UP stacks on one siding waiting for two east bounds that were probably no more than two miles apart....

All in all not bad for some railfanning while driving.

Also there's a branch line that goes up to a town 7-8 miles north of here.where they haul grain out of, as of this time they are storing about 4 miles worth of ttx well cars and ttx spine cars there I've known of them for about 3 weeks, but they could have been there as much as a month or two earlier.

Live In Nebraska. Saw a SD40-2 Heritage-pumpkin as many people call them, and a GP60B also in the Heritage/pumpkin scheme. I'm guessing they were going to pick up a grain train somewhere considering it being just a light engine move. Kinda unusual for a grain train, usually two C44-9W's, very interesting.

Ok, so it wasn't an exotic loco or a fallen flag, but it's the first one I think I've ever seen:

One each ballast regulator/snowblower, clearing the latest north country snowfall from the tracks on Fort Drum.

i saw a CSX switcher on a line servicing a chemical plant... couldnt get a good look at it... was on a bus and only got a front view... well, the cab looked like that of a SW1200, but it was shorter and didn't have a slope right before the cab.

Also saw a mixed freight of chemical, coal and boxcars, and another freight of chemical cars

I am sure the prime mover was working just fine. L R & W can sometimes pull a pretty good sized train. They usually use only 2 engines. This summer I plan to do some L R & W railfanning. Any takers, just let me know. [;)]
