Sloppy Joes do sound good...
Give me an F for my rain/snow math a few posts back. We'd gotten .44 inches of rain (forty-four hundreths), which translates into 4.4 inches of snow, not four feet....
The snow has stopped - in fact, the stars are out. But the lack of clouds is letting all the heat out, too. Looks like we'll be getting below zero overnight - but the local ski areas will love that because they can make all sorts of snow. Mother Nature sure hasn't been cooperating with them...
Time for bed.

Good Thursday morning everyone. Cloudy with 35 degrees here in Louisville this morning; going for a high of around 52 degrees this afternoon. Supposed to see quite a bit of sunshine later this morning, on into the afternoon.
Coffee, juices, hot cider, hot chocolate, hot water for tea are fresh and ready to go. On the warmer/serving bar this morning: bacon, sausage, eggs, fried taters, bagels, bear claws and cinnamon raisin English muffins.
Gee, another year is quickly drawing to a close. Where has this year gone?
Everyone have a good morning, take care, and I'll see you all later.
Good Morning Railfans!
Well it's back to the office for me today and currently its 36F and the Sun is making its way up here in the Mile High area. Finished up my Georgetown Loop Trip Report this weekend <Click Here> ending with a great video (Part III of III) of Steam Engine #12 running from Georgetown to Silver Plume while keeping the "record" button going all the way from beginning to end. Might help some with modeling ideas seeing this section of the old C&S in the Rocky Mountains twist and loop it's way up a valley.

Nice, Stourbridge Lion. Thanks for sharing with us here in the Cafe/Diner.
It looks like we've been on the slow side this morning here, with very few patrons coming in. Guess everyone is taking advantage of the sunshine.
Maybe our menu for the rest of the day will entice some of you back in:
1. Pork Roast w/mashed taters w/bacon, corn fritters, green beans w/ham, fried green tomatoes, corn and lima bean succotash, cooked turnips, buttered beets and macaroni and cheese
2. Hamburgers/cheeseburgers w/garden salad and fries
3. A few assorted dinners from our Chinese/Asian menu from yesterday (they do warm up great!)
Everyone enjoy your afternoon, take care and see you all later.
Chinese, please.
Eye dr, grocery store, lunch out and then trains. Home before 3 pm. Must rest before supper.

Good Friday morning everyone. Mookie, hope you enjoyed your Chinese food, doing your errands, watching trains and getting back home to rest. Rest is always good!
I don't know if he'll drop in today, but want to wish Bob Vaughn a Very Happy Birthday today!! Many happy returns to you, with good health, good friends, family bday wishes!
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, all all fresh and ready to go. And, as always, plenty of hot water for hot tea. On the warmer bar: bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy, along with a small selection of doughnuts, danish, bagels and bear claws.
We have a temp of 49 degrees this morning, going for a high in the mid 50s, with periods of light rain showers. So far, we are running about 20 + degrees warmer than usual for this time in December. But, by Monday night, Tuesday, our high will be right around 32 degrees. Guess winter is deciding to make an appearance here in Louisville.
Everyone have a great day, take care and see you all later.
Morning, and peace be with you. 39 and clear at sunrise in Carolina, expected to make it to 66 later today. Been spending my time working on my coin collections. When the computer packed up a couple of months ago, I lost my inventory list, so have to redo the whole thing. Ain't life sweet?
Happy birthday, Bob. Have a great one!
I need to talk with someone who is fluent in German. If that's you, please email me at yardmaster2@att.net. Thanks
Everyone stay safe and warm

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
It's currently 34F and Sunny heading for near 60F. Another long weekend ahead and then the long gray winter months from there Time to head to that "W" thing that pays the bills...
Central Indiana is overcast with grey sky, dark at times, and gusts of wind. Much nicer to stay inside. Not real cold....mid to high 40s. No snow. Saw a map yesterday of the snow outline coverage now compared to last season same time....Much less now. Suppose that helps to keep temps on the mild side.
And with no snow we'll not complain. Colder weather headed our way from up north, but seems there is not much moisture with it.
Noted our oil co's. have raised our fuel costs {gasoline}, twice locally and in the region in the past two weeks....Suppose they must keep on that schedule to keep on top of the income group list.
And maybe they will "catch" the upcoming holiday travelers for a bit more.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Bob!!! Hope You Have A Great One!!!!!!
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Thanks for the BD wishes Paula & Walt. Hope to see y'all this spring. 'Tis a gloomy day in Aledo, but tonight we are going to party. Then stay home tomorrow night and try to stay awake for the New Year...We drove over to Burlington IA yesterday and saw more trains than we have in a few years. One empty coal train did not have a DPU. Kinda unusual. (For me)
Here is our menu for the rest of the afternoon/tonight:
1. Leftover pork roast, baby vegetable medley, garden salad
2. Country fried steak, steak fries, buttermilk biscuits w/milk gravy, peas & carrots, corn on the cob, broccoli w/butter sauce and warmed applesauce w/cinnamon
DESSERT: Chocolate birthday cake w/ice cream
Hope you all enjoy, have had a good day; take care and see you all later.
Hmmmmm.... It's raining here, but the thermometer reads 21F. That can't be good.
And it isn't. Lotsa ice around. Good thing it's late.
A neighboring FD already had been out for a rollover. I'm almost afraid to head for bed, let I have to get back up to deal with one here.
But head for bed I will. Gotta bake a cake tomorrow to take to daughter's for New Years (and a belated Christmas).
Good Saturday morning everyone. Morning temp is in the mid 40s, going for a high in the mid 50s. Should have partly cloudy skies, with some sunshine. Should be a good end to the year, and to welcome in 2012.
Also want to wish Houston Ed a Very Happy Birthday!! Ed, hope you have a great day (even though you'll probably be working)! Here's wishing you many, many more happy days to come in the New Year!!
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, hot water for tea, are all fresh and ready to go. On the warmer/serving bar this morning: Spanish omelets, southwest omelets, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.
For our evening meal, as a special treat, we'll be having steaks, baked taters and salad, and then, later on, and good ole chocolate birthday cake w/ice cream.
Everyone have a good morning, take care, don't party too hardy tonight. If you're going to be drinking alcohol, make sure you have a designated driver, who isn't drinking.
Happy Birthday to da guy down in da swamp.(Ed B). Probably got home a little faster with the stiff wind last night. Spent last week chasing Otto Mear's ghost around in SW Colorado. I have a new respect for some of the things he did (the hard way).
Hey guys,
I just got off work, opened my email, and had lots and lots of Facebook notifications, went there and read all the birthday wishes...thanks to a great group of friends.
That's the most activity my Facebook page ever saw!
Hope all of you have a great new year's eve, stay safe, sober and for those of you who do party hardy, make sure you have a designated driver, I want to see you around next year too!
Thanks again for all the birthday wishes...

Ed, hope you're enjoying your day!! You definitely deserve all the birthday wishes you have received, both here and on FB!
And for you, Ed, and everyone else here, the steaks are ready!! Along with the baked potatoes, garden salad, and everything else that has been fixed for your birthday supper. That includes birthday cake and ice cream. (We'll have the pizzas tomorrow night, along with something else for Sunday Dinner.)
Everyone have a good evening, take care is you're going out to celebrate and see in the New Year, stay sober but have plenty of fun. As Ed said, we want to see you all around for the 2012.
