Thanks Don, my wife helped with that, it's just card board strips and plaster cloth, and you know, that was our first attempt at it and it was almost as exciting as building the track. :)
Altoona,
I'm assuming this is what you were trying to do...
Insert [ IMG] before your link and [/IMG ] after your link without the spaces you see between the bracket and the text.
Research; it's not just for geeks.
Cool thanks, I'll try that.
Crud!! Looks like it's time to find some photo bucket space.

Here's the link anyhow if you're still interested. ;)
AltoonaRR: It came in this time (and Don Z, the only way a url works on this browser is to hit Enter, but thanks for the consideration.) Nice going with that tunnel. First time eh? And your wife helps? (Actually my Kris is great for scenery suggestions as well, but hasn't expressed an interest in doing the scenery....yet)
Looks like you model in Normal Scale too, Great!

These garratts were still operating on the New South Wales rail system until the early 70's. I have recently obtained a sound model.
Bega is the main station on the layout. Two GM powered trains are getting ready to depart.

This was taken with a film camera. It shows my first subway station, at Saint Anne Street on the Moose Bay Transit Authority.

True story: A fellow former New Yorker (and I hope now a fellow Red Sox fan) came into my office at work where that picture was my screen saver. He looked puzzled, and asked where on the system "Saint Anne Street" was. I told him it was in my train room, and his eyes widened way up. Man, when somebody, even a non-MR-type, can't tell the difference between reality and your model, you've got to be doing something right.
I'm happy to say that my own jaw drops on occasion when I see what my friends here are doing. Keep up the good work, ladies and gentlemen.

AWESOME LAYOUT NICE PICS I LOVE IT NICE WORK MATE
Thanks to fifedog, loathar and trainhooked for your encouraging words. Thanks to the internet these thing can be shared around the world.
Model rail in Australia is basically no different here than anywhere else. Its just everything is done on a smaller scale meaning the number of modellers wouldnt match that of the US.
The hobby has come a long way in the last twenty years in that local prototypes are now becoming available thanks to the chinese revolution. This fact is also true I believe for US and British modellers.
Australia was also disadvantaged by states having their own gauges. There was no intermix at state borders because the gauges were different. (with and exception between Melbourne and Adelaide)
Its only now that standard gauge is available Australia wide that modellers in all states can buy locos that can be seen all over. This has allowed manufactures a greater market to recoup their outlay.
There is almost a flood of new models becoming available now and the next few years. the old hip pocket is getting a beating.
We have a good number of exhibitions Australia wide each year and our local magazine 'Australian Model Railway magazine' is published every two months and is an excellent mag.
I enjoy this forum and pick up many good ideas.
I have enclosed another three shots from my photohosting site which is at http://southcoastrail.fotopic.net/ in case you want to check out more photos.

The garratt takes water at Batemans Bay
Similar to an RS3 4019 approaches Bodalla

all's i can say is wow, i checked out your website and man - have you got some good pics or what. The detail is superb, i like the platform detail with the station sign being so detailed.
VERY VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE
Love the scenic work! That's a cute Rail Motor, too.
Here's a couple of night scenes. Streetlights are by Viessmann, running off a 12V marine battery

SouthCoastRail - How long have you had your railroad? Looks like months of time and effort poured into it. I'm waiting for KALMBACH/MODEL RAILROADER to call me and send me to your house as a JUNIOR CORRESPONDENT...
I check out the site www.RailPictures.net regularly, and I always do a doubletake when I see what appears to be SantaFe Bluebonnets running in modern times.
Keep posting (especially on the weekend photo section). Love your stuff!!!

You'll never believe me then. I have a Picture of 2 ATSF Blue Bonnets in the lead. I took the picture at Rochell Ill, April 4 2007.(Some where around Early April. And no it's not April Fools) I would scan the picture in but my scanner dosn't work. I need to re-install a disk and I lost that so......You probably won't believe me untill I can get that picture in.
Best pic? That's like asking a parent which kid they love the most.
Here are four pics from my layout. I really like these because the views can't be seen while viewing the layout.
fifedog wrote:WCfan - Hey,partner. I believe you. We still see matched sets of blue & yellow SD40-2's on the east coast from time to time. What I'm speaking of are F-style bluebonnet units.
My computer is kinda slow so I could get all the pictures uplaoded.

It's actually a module for a modular group. I took it out one sunny fall day to take some pics to see how they would turn out. I just found a nice area in the neighborhood and a good late day sun.
