Jeffrey, I really like what you have done to the foundry roof, what a difference. Certainly gotta learn how to use the paint gun for your paint job makes the model look a lot more realistic.
Just wondering out of curiosity, due to the fact that I love the GE AC4400 when will your engine roam the rails? About 4 years ago while going for a drive there was a hobby shop in a caboose. Went in and took a look around. At this point in time there were no model trains in my life. The hobby shop had a BB GE AC4400 in CP colours which was detailed a bit from the previous owner. That engine set the ball in motion and rekindled my love affair with railroads only this time the north american railroads. So it would be wonderful to see some real "muscle" roaming on your rails.

Evening Gang: I'm some better tonight. Of course we still have to look at that pit everyday.
Welcome back Trent. I am sorry that I didn't say hello yesterday. Sounds like you're busy.
Jeff: Great pictures as always. That scene a couple pages age had great looking back rounds. This new camera is really working out. I still say that you did a great job with that $10 job you had though.
If you all remember me telling you about Clark Gardens you may be interested to know that they want an HO layout. I'm going to get to working on it as soon as I get a floor plan. I've got an idea for it I just have to fit it to the area. The layout will depict Weatherford today on the lower level and in the past say about 1920s on the upper level. It should be interesting.
Well I think I'll say
Good Night All
This is how the siding and crossovers between the two loops looks now.
Hi all -
Just a quick in and out. G/f just showed up.
Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
I'll hook up to what Philip has going...
***inch, thanks for the good advice. Sounds like something that would work.
MIL went nuts today and ran away from home (on foot in high heals with makeup on). Cops almost picked her up, but a sister beat them to it. Dang, she really needed to go to the hospital. Doubt she will be returning here. Whatever happens, it's fine with me.
Storms are about over now. Troughs should be about full, but I doubt even this amount of rain will show up in the creek. Hope everyone is having a great day.

I got this shot from the roof of the Midtown Consolidators shipping office. It was quite tricky to get balanced just right.
Mornin, coffee, a chocolate milk and a couple doughnuts for me n J birds Zoe
Got some good news bout 6 am, Kris called and they were on their way to the hospital, so hopefully we'll have a new grand-daughter in a while. Me n Mothers planning on going up this afternoon.
Not to bad a morning here sunny n 56, head for a high in the 70's. The weather for the next few days is going to be crazy, lows tomorrow in the low 40's, with high in the mid to upper 60's and next week warming up to the upper 80's, close to 90.
ROB , a sallow well pump should work ok, you'll want a low pressure shut switch on it in case it runs dry. One other thing, if you leave your well water lines connected too [backup]. You'll need to install need install check valves on both sides, to prevent any chance contamination of your drinking water from back flow.
RYAN,, looked like you n ROB may get some rain left over from the hurricane today on the weather map this morning. Sure a hoping anyway
Texas STEVE ,,, glad you folks made it ok with out much damage. TV showed some areas didn't far so well though
RT,,, great to hear from ya, and good news bout the job, but it's it going to interfere with the diet, working in a bakery.
GARY,, liked the Amtrak pics
TRENT B, good to hear from you also. Sounds like thing are going well, even with a few problems. Keep us updated on the trains.
JWAR ,, welcome to the dinner n hope you enjoy your visit here.
FERGIE,, closing an estate is a pain I feel for ya. I helped mom with my grandma's. Hope ya has a safe trip at sea.
DICK,, the price of everything is going up as far as heating this year. We mix pellets n corn and at least the corn price is down. Just a thought, if I remember right we were running the stove some last Sept.
Needs ta get movin, J Birds hollerin to go outside. Hope ya'll has a good safe day

Well, the start of another beautiful day here in the heartland! The weather for Indianapolis calls for the possibility is some very spotty showers, but for the most part it's 80's, low humidity, and sunshine!
It would seem that I took a temporary absence from my sanity last night and I stayed up too late. I figured, what the heck, tomorrows Friday! Now I'm paying for it! I'm half asleep! It'll be OK though. I started a pot of chocolate coffee a couple of minutes ago, so soon I'll have not just caffine, but sugar also coursing through my veins!
Yeah, life is that good!
Good morning, Zoe - I'll have a glass of Ed's OJ (small one - got to make it stretch)
Cup of coffee and a couple of waffles, please!
Thanks for the breakfast, Trent - and back to the Diner! I'd agree with the others, on wanting to see pics (of your layout, as well as pics of and info about whatever new stuff your shop comes up with).
My sinus thing is more manageable now (didn't have any whiskey in the house, and wasn't sure how much wine would've been the equivalent, Dick ). I wound up going the steamy shower route, and sleeping on my other side, so the one ear could drain off (or whatever...) from the ear with the earache. I'm still aware of some very slight discomfort in the sinus and a minimal pressure in the ear, but it's better. Thanks for all the tips, folks!
On-call last night/this a.m. had too many interruptions. I've been up since 4 this time (though I'm betting Bill T. or Jeff might have been up that early), so main goal for the day will be staying awake until I get off work this afternoon. Then maybe to bed a little early tonight.
(back) to the Diner, John W.! I found a Feather River Route webpage that might have been yours - if it was, it looked good. (If I'm wrong, please feel free to post some pics of your layout...
Rob, good to hear you're getting some rain. Humberto completely missed us. We're supposed to be having a cool front move in later tonight, and stay in the 70's or below for the weekend, but warm back up to Indian summer next week. Can't put away those short-sleeve shirts and the shorts just yet...
I'll be over at the corner booth working on my waffles for now.
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape Girardeau

Being that it's night, how about a fitting pic.
TONIGHT/TOMORROW/TOMRROW NIGHT 100% Chance of Rain here...HURRAY HURRAY HURRAY! Sure wish I could have purchased one of those water storage tanks and got the gutters up before thi hit. However, beggars can't be choosers and I've been begging Mother Nature for a good long while now. I hear rain as I type...HURRAY!
Oh, a BIG slice of Banana Cream Pie, please and thank you!
***RT, congrats on the new job. Temptation would be too much for me working in a deli/bakery and I would get fired for eating all the proceeds.
***Garry, beautiful photos.
***Paul, sure hope that 5 acre pit thing can be resolved without much hassle.
***Trent, DO post some photos when you start on the new layout. Preferably starting with pics of the benchwork. Always looking to learn from others.
Nothing much worth reporting. MIL ran away from home this evening, is back tonight, and I've dissabled her vehicle. No more tantrums allowed...at least none that will endanger others out on public roads. Anyone care to play "Throw Momma From The Train?" FIL continues to improve almost daily, both physically and mentally.
Good night all!
Good evening again....
WELCOME JWAR!!!!!!!!!
Some of that Salsa discussed by Ryan, Sue, and others would hit the spot if available here.
Now I feel badly. I'm not done with spring cleaning and Dick's handling fall cleaning now.
Paul... I did find some C&S 2-6-0 pictures and drawings in Colorado books here. The C&S 2-6-0 was a former DSP&P locomotives.
RT Congrats to you!
Scott; best wishes again regading NS job.
Fergie, we're beginning to see what you mean regarding closing an estate. Looks like Shelley is the appointee from her family for handling Janet's stuff. Shelley is the type to do stuff needing to be done while family members do little to help.
Good to to see continued progress on Jeff's layout including lighted building.
Belated birthday wishes to Jerry's Sallie and to Philip. Actually, I had birthday and we had anniversary first week of Septemebr while we were concerned with Shelley's sister. Not a happy time.
Trent ------ good to see you again, and hope you can spend more time in diner.
Steve in GB (for now)...best wishes for NZ move.
Steve (Baylormax) ...........glad the storm was not too bad.
Ed..... you must have compeleted posting those pix now. They were good stuff.

Good Evening Coffee Clubbers,
The coffee is good, hot and strong. And the banana cream pie is excellent. I recommend it.
Lazy afternoon to go with the lazy morning. Some things never change. I did get to read the entire September issue of Trains Magazine, which was up near the top of my "to read" list, so it wasn't a totally lost afternoon. No, I don't have the October issue yet. Since my mail gets packaged up and sent down once a month I won't see that until around the 10th of October.
The cable operated car ferry is still out of service, and the latest word is that maybe tomorrow afternoon they'll be back in service. We're tied up on Saturday, so that means it will be Monday at the earliest before we can report on progress out at the orange grove.
Dick: 250 yards across the stream????? What is this "stream" the Oronoco???LOL If the little rusty cable breaks on the Ferry, where do you wind up...the GOM???
Ryan - thanks for the salsa recipe. Will try it out. We made some crab stuffed mushrooms today (okay, Fran made them , I cobbled together the recipe) and they turned out pretty good.
John (jwar) - welcome to the diner. It may be your first stop in here, but I think you made an appearance in The Coffee Shop thread, which was the long running precursor to this thread. Cook? Don't think we know. We only see the waitresses, Chloe and Zoe, or whoever.
Steve (BaylorMax) - glad to hear that lost power was the worst you suffered. Kind of suspected that when you didn't post early this morning.
Trent - nice to see you stopping by. By the way, gang, Trent's train shop is huge. Lots of stuff. (Even though they do give kind of short shrift to Normal scale.) Glad to hear that business continues to be good for the shop despite all we hear about other shop closings. Must speak well for your managing and customer service.
Hasta mañana,
Ed
Good evening ......late to the Diner once again, it is getting so busy here now with Fall approaching fast. Helped the wife with a few chores that involved work on a ladder to get at lights and fans ( you know guys, Fall house cleaning help ?? !!!! )
Then I got to work in the Train room. Built storage shelves under the 30" wide tables, this will keep stored supplies and other stored items off the floor and any chance of dampness or water damage.
FERGIE: You are headed to sea at a bad time mon ami!!! The peak of the hurricane season is right now!!! Several areas of convection are moving off the west African coast, and will need close watching. And the lesser Antilles is very active region this year also.
I like what you have added to your sig at the bottom Fergie, very, very appropriate tribute to dad!!!!!
MIKE: Pellet costs are rising, and oil has hit an all time high of over $80 a barrel. A news story last night said that oil could easily hit $3 a gallon this winter, especially if we get hit early with cold wave, or, if the winter is colder than normal. Be prepared!! I locked-in a contract for oil at $2.67 a gallon......600 gallons, we shall see. I also have 5 cords or firewood stacked and ready.....let it snow!!!
ED: Yanks and Toronto tied 1-1 in 7th, maybe Toronto can pull ONE game out this this series!!! 250 yards across the stream????? What is this "stream" the Oronoco???LOL If the little rusty cable breaks on the Ferry, where do you wind up...the GOM??? LOL I pictured in my mind this stream that was about 150 feet across and maybe 10 feet deep.
SCOTT: Good luck on the trip, make sure the oil in your car has been changed, the coolant is checked, the hoses and fan belt are in good shape, the tire pressures are checked, cell phone is charged, and gas tank is topped off. And call your mother when you get there !!!! They worry a lot you know !!!
RYAN: Thank you for recipe, we love salsa......will it burn my toes???
JEFF, STEVE: Glad to see that no serious damage was done......that had to be the fastest Tropical Storm development into a hurricane on record.
JERRY: Yes, I am making "some" progress, but not as much as I would like, too many distractions, you know how that works.
RT: Glad to see you landed a good job, we certainly are happy for you buddy, can we expect fresh pastry in the Diner tomorrow???
JIM: Are you feeling better today? What was your cure ?
SUE: Are you using a hand posthole digger, or the gas powered two person digger?
Pax Vobiscum,
Thanks for the back. I've got some projects in the works @ the shop all of them consist of our own line of products. We're also gonna put out our special run of H.O. and O engines. once the prototypes are finished there will be pics forth comming.
Emily is still dealing w/her ADHD, dislexia, disgraphsia, and hand spasums. Her teacher is stonewalling us and I'm developing a dislike for her.
Sarah is driving now and OH BOY!!!! Stay off the sidewalks!!! I think the RR tracks are safer. LOL
Kelly is getting ready to go back to school for the spring semester.
Me actually got a chance to start on my new layout other than demolition. Emily helped and we had a GREAT time. Can't wait til I get the deck and foam down so I can lay some track. House repairsand yard work come first at the price of my layout. Winter, yeah winter will give me time in w/my layout. The hope and dream of every modeler.
My heart grieves for those who've sufferer losses and is full joy for all as we have had another day of friendship. Remember our service men , women, their families and pray for their safety!
Night all and God bless all.
Trent
P.S. take it easy on my credit card PLEASE!
Evening Gang: I'm early tonight. I've been having a little depression lately. We're lucky in having a gas well sending us a check every month but there is a 5 acre pit that we can't get rid of and it's really getting under our skin. It's my falt it's there still and I really feel bad for Mary Ann. She talked to our lawyer today and I guess she is going to have him try something. We might end up in court about it.
Other then that I've been hauling hay again. This is hay that we baled last year and didn't get hauled to the haylot. It was stored on the side of the field so no problem.
Rob I hope that Humberto brings you some rain.
Steve congrats on the job and move. New Zealand is a beautiful place from the pictures I've seen. There is a lot of live steam activity down there also.
Other Steve. Good to hear that you weathered the storm all right. That was a strange storm. They say it will be looked at for some time.
Well I've got to go. The doc gave me some pills for the depresion. I'll see you all later.
Hello everyone...

These photos were taken from the VIA train as we departed Halifax on September 15, 2001 after being "stranded" in Nova Scotia by the 9/11 attacks. No flights home and tons of stranded Transatlantic air passengers delayed our return home. Flying was out of the question.
I agree with Rob, but please save some of that rain for us up here in North Carolina too!
Scott - Congratulations my man! Sounds like things are really falling into place for you. And like RT said, if you get to passing through the Piedmont Division around Raleigh, give me a heads up!
RT - Congrats on the deli/bakery position! Maybe you can start providing some daily specials in the Diner now!
