Evening Gang: John called a bit ago and said that he had finished the baling. He counted 103 bales in the big field and 19 in the small field. We picked out alot of mesquite but we also missed a bunch. Alot of the hay is really good but the mesquite will be hard to sell. Now that is done maybe I can get onto some MRRing. Yea, right. Now we have to bale our fields here. It never seems to end.

JimCG: You haven't said anything about the club. How about an update?

My best to everyone and take care.

Good Night All

Well, Dick - then they are upset with the wrong people (and you really should get information sources that are accurate)! I really dislike Key Lime anything, let alone Key Lime pie. Now, if it had been butterscotch pudding pie with a graham cracker crust, then I'm your man for that! Yeah!! [yeah] But Key Lime? Dead [xx(]

(No offense intended to Mark, Der John or Fergie, of course...)

Dick,

I assume that you mean Vancouver, BC.  If it were Vancouver, WA, that would be pretty close. Less that 100 miles.

It looks like today is the deadline on having a passport to travel to Canada.  Larry and I decided that we should get ours.

Hope that you have a great trip.  Do you have a laptop to download your photos and videos onto?  That would be one more thing to carry, but sure saves on space in the memory card.

Good afternoon to all, very much a Fall day here today, 66F, DP of 49F, RH of 56%, very nice day indeed. Getting packed for the Canadian Rockies trip, batteries for the Digital camera and Video camera are all charging, bags are packed.

SUE: I will be in Vancouver on October 9th, I was hoping that were were going to fly out of Portland or at least Seattle, we might have been able to get together for a coffee, etc. but I guess Vancouver is the closest that  we will get to Olympia.

DUKE: We fly into O'Hare on the 10th, so maybe if you sent up a flare or set off a cannister of marker dust, I can drop a crate of goodies from Central Hobbies in Vancouver.

JIM: I heard that you ate all ED's Key Lime pie that Fran made for the Diner folks...not nice not to share.......Hoople was very upset as was Der John and Fergie.

Jim,

Sometimes mid afternoon here is a good time for dinner.  I enjoy previewing what I might want for dinner.  Well, I should head to town for some errands.

in a Union Pacific mug, please & thank you.

The Inlaws were on a hunger strike in their room yesterday and wouldn't come out. Must have run out of cheerios & chips this morning, as they ate breakfast in the dining area. I only pitty the FIL, because he surely would have prefered eating real meals yesterday. No more bringing them any food stuffs, that will force both of them to eat the meals their kids are paying for them to have. (THANKFUL they are no longer here...whewBig Smile [:D])

Well, below is a pic of one of the numerous projects I've been dabbling on. This is half of my new painting porch. In honor of Elliotts Trackside Diner, I added the old MacD's chairs/tables out there. Still have window sills to do and a lighted fan to buy (and then modify), but all that can wait awhile. (Colors are way off, it is actually a beautiful porch)

OK, time to get to work on some more book shelves. Have a great day all. Cowboy [C):-)] Rob

Good Morning, Diners - Zoe, a cup of coffee, please. Thanks!

Oh yeah, I promised Garry and Duke to bring some custard concretes and shakes, didn't I. Well, here you go. Smile [:)]

It was kind of cloudy this morning on the way to w**k, but it's cleared off and is sunny currently. Cool [8D] Supposed to reach the low 80's/upper 70's today, so should be a nice day.

Not sure what was going on, but this morning from home I was having trouble accessing the forums or a PM. But I'm able to get there from here, so all is well for the moment, and hopefully it will have fixed itself by tonight. Smile [:)]

Jeff, got your PM - I think that's the same place I'd visited before. Might have some of the images I need on another drive, but will have to wait until I get home tonight. Thanks for the info and tips on the backdrops! Thumbs Up [tup]

Ah, the paperw**k awaits (like a snake in the grass, waiting to bite me in the...).Shock [:O] Time to get back at it.

Blessings on your week (and new month),

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

How's everyone doin' this mornin'?

Bit of a wet one here today so far.  Weather guesser is calling for 78 degrees and spotty showers ending later this afternoon.  Right now it looks like this........

Well, another weekend gone and I didn't get to work on the layout.  Gotta make that a higher priority!

I did take the wife and my son up to visit my parents yesterday though.  Dad's health is not so hot, so I've been trying to drive up to see them or at least call and see how they're getting along every week or so.

So whats up with all of you?

Garry,  Shelley will be in our prayers. She has lots of work ahead of her.  I remember a similar experience.  Patience will be the best virtue.

Mark,  If you mean horizontal rain.  Well,  that would be right.  It forced me inside today.  Just a couple of days ago, I was working outside in a tank top.  Maybe that means some layout time.

Hey guys.

I'll have two scoops of vanilla ice cream, chloe.

Sue: Enjoying the perfect weather?

Jeff: More nice pictures. I never seem to get around to taking any...

Well, I've been assembling my Fantasy-cool-passenger-train. Looked on walthers for some UP cars, and found some, and lots are on sale. I better get the jump on 'em. So far, my fantasy train looks like:

Pullman Heavyweight 70' ACF baggage, Pullman Standard 10-5 sleeper, Pullman Standard 6-6-4 sleeper, Pullman Standard 48 seat diner, Pullman Heavyweight paired window coach, Pullman Standard 64 seat coach, and finally, Pullman Heavyweight observation.

All in UP yellow. I think it'll look great behind my challenger.

Well, gotta go,

Howdy....

Any of Rob's apple pie left?

Dick.... I'm sure you will enjoy the trip. There are some good model train stores in Vancouver area, but now I don't recall names of them or how to get there. We went to Whistler while in BC, and we had the best pancakes imaginable there. There's a great breakfast restaurant in downtown Vancouver with a breakfast "pie" including eggs, sausage, onions, and artichoke hearts along with other good stuff. Can't tell you much more about it now. Of course, food on the Rocky Mountaineer was just fantastic!

Sue... not much NP or other stuff lately. I have been helping Shelley with working on her sister's estate. It's still pretty hard on Shelley. I've worked on a couple of Burlington locos for my sanity breaks.  Perhaps I'll operate some NP trains and maybe post a pix of that.

PC ..... you stirred up a bit of trouble concerning our favorite KCS fan. Now, now. Get back to work on that layout!

Jim CG........... any chance of bringing some Cape G. frozen custard again, soon? If not, maybe Ryan can get some.

Duke ... speaking of frozen custard, have you been to Irma's just west of Utica? Good stuff!

I now have a DCC equipped Athearn GP50 running on my layout. My neighbors son traded me his GP50 for my RS3 SP Black Widow. I wasted no time sticking a NCE Silent Running decoder in the GP50. Here's some pics taken during the conversion and a video showing the testing being done afterwards.

Good Evening Coffee Clubbers,

Another beautiful day down here in Paradise.  Cool [8D]  Typical lazy Sunday for us.  Of course, being retired, every day is kind of lazy for us.

I suppose I ought to clarify that when I said that Hurricane Lorenzo was a non-event, I meant that as far as we personally were concerned.  Low lying areas of Tuxpan south of the river, and several small cities south of here (Poza Rica and Alamo), and people living along the coast south of here did see quite a bit of flooding.

Scott: I've got a lot of stuff to learn, and it's gonna take a good bit of time to get everything down pat.
And once you get "everything" down pat you'll have discovered new stuff to learn.  If you're lucky, and pay attention, you never stop learning.  But based on your past school history I suspect you already knew that.  Wink [;)]  Nice photo of you and Sarah.  She's a nice looking girl.  Good luck.

Jim - no Red Sox game on the tv for me.  Not much big league baseball on regular tv down here.  ESPN in Spanish caries a couple of games a week.  So I've seen maybe 6 Red Sox games all season.  Today was the last day of the regular season.  Divisional Championship series starts this week.

Actually, one of the SW900/1200 P2K's that I have is in NP livery. If I could only justify how it ended up down in the Four Corners area...
Easy.  Bought it second hand from the NP.  Too cheap, make that frugal, to repaint immediately.

Dick:  You will have to keep me posted on the playoffs, I fly out of Logan on Wednesday morning for Calgary via Denver.
Check, Chief.  Although I'd suspect that traveling with a group of people from your area, more than one is going to have the inside scoop on the games.

That's about it.

Hasta mañana,

Ed
