HI ALL:

50 degrees outside but 15 mph east wind so it feels cold, 39degrees wind chill factor.

DICK:

We missed your birthday but thisis a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY from both of us.

The doors to the MRR are opoen again and I've got a heater in there so its warmer 72! The walls are in the process of being painted, one wall at a timemy back won't stand much more. Kathy spent another 3 days in the hosp. this time for a colon blockage. They finally figured out that it was an overdose of morphine too much at one time so now she is spredding it out to 4 times a day at 80 each time. The drs. say that she can't stand as much at one time as I can and that stopped her up for 5 days. Everything is fine now.    FERGIE: Very glad that dad is getting better and that you can now use that double pot. LOL  LOL  LOL.  I can't remember who did the clouds oh yea Philip they are great I hope mine come out close to the same. I did buy that tape from home depot and have studied it for a while maybe I can do it. I will try hard and probably have to do it over so I will try it in the shop on a piece of my shop wall. Yes I will. We are having a SP&S weekend garbage sail in march and I'm going to try to go, Kathy can't take the 100 mile ride very uncomfortable for her, so maybe I'll get to go.

I have not had much time to work on the comp as Kathy has been in and out of the hosp. 6 times now since the 1st of december but we did have a very good Christmass and I finally got caught up with all my reading sitting in the hosp waiting for her to get well: wellll better should be said.       OH by the way I've got 2 walls and one ceiling painted white so something is getting bettert in the train room. SNOW is all gone about 10 days ago it wasn't even pretty, we want our RAIN back and its comming fri of sat.................. I've talked enough and its almost time to start dinner

GOD BLESS and prayers for all             CHUCK and KATHY

Remember model railroad logging is a FUN business and we all need FUN........ACD

Well then, permit me to start off the next thousand  if you don't mind.

Hi Chloe, I'll have a

Well, the wife is in Florida for the next 2-3 weeks, but I have the kids.  I told her that she's going to come back to a fully sceniced RR.  Guess I'd best get started since I'm just a little ways into sub-roadbed, huh?

Fergie: You bet I'm hiding. Wehn the talk gets around to who's done what I don't want to get involved. I won't mention Flip.

Chuck: It's good to hear from you again. I'm glade that Kathy is feeling better. Being stopped up like that can be a pain in the rear for sure. That's great that you are getting back to work on the layout. Decent weather does help. Just take it slow and it will be done.

It appears to be about time for bed. I'll say Good Night.

I'm going on what it says on the main page, not what's at the bottom of this page. Apparently there's a 1 post difference between the two. According to the bottom of the page, this 1,005 but on the main page it's 1,004.

PAUL:  I have to hand it to you aul, you sure showed that car saleman a thing or two, I am posting your experience because I know that you are too humble to tell the folks here in the Diner, so here it is folks:

A wise old Texas Rancher  ( Paul )went to town to trade for a pickup truck
he saw advertised in the paper for an unbelievably low price.
After showing the salesman which truck he wanted, they sat down to do the paperwork. The salesman handed the rancher the keys and the bill,to which the Texas rancher ( Paul )angrily declared,"This ain't the price I saw!"The salesman went on to tell the wise old Texas rancher ( Paul )how he was getting extras such as power brakes, power windows, special tires etc.and that made the final price higher.
The Texas rancher  (Paul) wanted only that truck and no other,
so he begrudgingly paid the price and drove it home.

A few months later, the salesman called the Texas rancher (Paul):
"My son is in 4-H and he needs a cow for a project.
Do you have any good cows for sale?"
"Yep, I've a few good cows priced to sell at $500 each.
Come on out and take your pick."
The salesman said he and his son would be right out.
After spending a few hours in the field checking out all the rancher's ( Paul )
cows, they decided on one and the salesman proceeded to write a check for $500.
"Now, wait a minute, that's not the final price of the cow.
You're gettin' extras and you have to pay for those, too!"

"What extras?" asked the salesman.

"I think you'll find all you're gettin' listed here!"
BASIC COW - - $500.00
Two tone exterior - - $45.00
Extra stomach--$75.00 storing equipment - - $60.00
Straw compartment - - $120.00
4 Spigots @$10 ea - - $40.00
Leather upholstery - - $125.00
Dual horns - - $45.00
Automatic fly swatter - - $38.00
Fertilizer attachment - - $185.00

GRAND TOTAL

$1,233.00

WAY TO GO PAUL !!!! Where're all prowd of you buddy !!!! Lets celebrate again!!

Got layout work to do today. There's a lot of drywall compound that needs to be covered with shellac. This makes it more resistant to chipping and it'll take paint better.

Good morning everyone, bright , clear and cold morning here today, 19F (-7C) here right now. We have 2" of snow due tonight, but wait until Friday!!!! We are predicted to get a Nor'easter, the first of the Winter season, and it has all the makings of a block buster because the Tropical jet stream and the Northern jet stream are going to "phase" together along the Atlantic coastline. Were're ready, bring it on!!!

Last night I had one of my best nights at bowling ( Candlepin ) that I have had in years, 112 and 105......it guess the medication for my tooth surgery had me very relaxed, LOL.

MRR progress is at the layout planning stage.....I have old maps of New England that show all the RR's that ran in NE, so from that I can beging a layout plan for the routes that I have room to build. One of the industries that I will have is Dairy. Man milk trains ran from farms in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine to the major cities in southern New England. And, I found out that some of these trains were consists of passenger and milk cars, so now I have to look for some passenger cars of that era also.

FERGIE: That is finally some good news for your project on the addition. If you had to enlarge all your waste lines to 4", you would have had quite a disruption to the MESS. Just make sure you all eat Yogurt every day and you should never have to worry about a 3" waste line...LOL  Hey, I know my s... ohhhhh never mind, lets not get into a crappy discussion this early in the morning. LOL

ANYONE SEEN DUKE AROUND THE DINER?  OR ED FROM SUNNY MEXICO??????

Later,

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Morning Gang: Yes Dick that is the way I'd like to price our calfs. I just wish it worked that way.

Not much to report this morning except 2 and a wake-up.

I've been cleaning up the shop so that the guy coming in will have a fairly clean place to start in. I've known the replacement for a few years and he has a great deal of talent. He'll have to learn the electrical and mechanical stuff but he has the stuff that can't be taught. I'll have him tomorrow to brief and take around to all the stuff that I work on.

Well I've got to get back at it. I'll see you all later.
