Ryan: We just purchased a LG 42" plasma T.V. We payed $A1750 and it has HD built in, We bought the same time we bought cable and we got the Plasma because when watching action such as Sport and movies, it responds better than an LCD. The LG had the brightest screen and had the most features, but also great value, I would reccomend the LG. If you will be watching lots of sport and action movies, Plasma is the way to go. One thing though, we would NEVER go back to a conventional T.V.

Btw guys thanks for the comments on the layout progress. Smile [:)]

One other thing, guys, for my new layout, i'm going DCC!! I'm going to be purchasing the NCE powercab as it's the complete system for $A265 and a few decoders, I don't need anything more because I've got a fairly small layout.

Looks like we need a bump here. I will do the honors with the threat that I'll be starting a new page. If I do have at it and enjoy. Nothing for me as we are getting ready for bed. I hear the UP going by.

I'll say Good Night and I'll see you all tomorrow.

Got the photos of the Engine Shop...add it to my pile I'm gonna offload from you. I'll shoot you a email later this week about the others and discuss particulars. I saw some rolling stock I'd like from the RIP track and I'm still leaning towards taking those 2 GE ConRail Units off your hands as well. Look for it sometime Thursday evening or during the day Friday. At teh same time, I'll pack up the items you want from my collection.

JP, the layouts looking great. I like those CSX engines, thats what I see here everyday. I saw a different paint schem on one the other day, it was all light grey with yellow CSX letters. Might have still been in primer.

OZ, looks like some progress on the new layout, keep us updated on how it's going.

Yea the Colts won, man I sure hate that. All our local tv comes out IND. and they started in with the bull as soon as the game was over. OH, well at least DA Bears won.

The photos are from the local CSX yard here in my area. Or are you referring to the photos on my Railimages account that I posted over the weekend??????? Confused [%-)]

Anyway, as for my layout...eh...let's not go there right yet. I have bigger things that need to be resolved before I go to that area again (ie divorce, would like to buy a house instead of renting an apartment, have to find a new home for the bird Sad [:(] (neighbors are starting to complain about it cause it now wakes up at 430am when I do and goes nonstop chirping till I leave at 545 for work))

Hi, Gang,  I will take a iced tea this evening, please.

We are back in our normal weather trend here in the Pacific Northwest.  That means I should work outside a little.  Wednesday will be my only work day in the next 2 weeks.  Layout time.Yeah!! [yeah]

I am working on my first water project.  I am using Woodland Scenics realistic water.  It is hard to be patient between layers.  The first layer almost totally disappeared.  Is that normal?  I was thinking that I have done 2 layers, but in reality, I have 3 layers and will need at least one more.

Well, back to the layout.

Sue

Gahh... I can't wait...
The Zephyr auction ends on wednesday at 4:45 Pacific time...
While I wait, there is also a Tsunami on ebay being sold buy empire north models for 10 bucks and free shipping... I know Empire North Models is a store on the web. So I don't think its a scam... It's a D&RGW K class though, but they say they have more. I don't know if I wan't to go for it... I think I should though.

Morning, Zoe - are those guys awake yet?Zzz [zzz] HEY JEFF! RYAN! WAKE UP!! Zzz [zzz] Maybe you could start an IV drip of some of your stronger coffee for them, Zoe - might stir them a little. Wink [;)]

Just a quick cup and a donut to go for me. That, and any and all Angel [angel]Angel [angel] from those so inclined. I may be moving on very short notice, and not sure where the rent and deposit for another place will be coming from (some creative juggling of bills, maybe). I'll just say that the landlord and I are having differences of opinions, and you know who wins those... Would like it better if he'd be a bit more flexible in working this matter out. Ah well,...Sigh [sigh]

Uh, Zoe, I may be doing dishes on a regular basis, since looks like breakfast is on me today.

Coffee.  The bacon and eggs look great.

My layout plans for today include finishing my ponds (If this ends up being my last layer), ground goop for a talus slope, and primer on some cowboys and their horses.

Larry is stopping by on  his way to Bellingham this afternoon. I had better show some progress on my little corner of the world.  Photo shots have been delaying progress.  Oh, well.  That happens.

Later,  Sue

Good Morning!

That hot breakfast really looks good, but I'll have some Kashi cereal with fresh blueberries, and getting the benefits of some high fiber and antioxidants with the fresh blueberries.

Thanks Jim and Dick for the wake up call! Sorry I missed the early birds! I've just been busy first thing this morning at work, researching an issue with one of our customer's access to the network.

I also want to thank Dick, LUPO, Philip, and James for all the great HDTV information. Your valuable experience is a great assistance for us with making the decision points on selection of a new HDTV. Also, thanks Dick for the email, lots of good info from the CES post show article, it will be interesting to get to see some of those new Samsung LED DLP models slated for release in QTR1 of 2007.

Cheers,

Just some coffee for me darlin

We got a little sun right now, guess I best enjoy it. Weather guesser's are talking snow flurries comin in tonight, maybe having an inch on the ground by Thursday morning.

JP,,, sorry, I was thinking you had a lay out. Photos still look great.

DICK,,, hope ya has a good with your daughter and the LHS

JIM CG,,,, sorry to hear bout the landlord problems, sure hope you get things worked out, or at least find a better place.

SUE,, looking forward for some photos of your water work.

FARGO,,, Yes DA BEARS made the big show, but don't count it as won. The same questions still come up as last Sunday, with how well they play. Like Grossman's record, will the defense hold the whole game or will they lay down the second half, like some of the other teams that's play the Colts. They may have got all the eggs in the basket, but they haven't made it home yet

It might get interesting though if the BEARS play like the days of the black n blue leagues

No kids today or tomorrow, so planning on some time on the layout and working on a wood project out in the shed. Ya'll have a good day.

Good afternoon everyone......just got back froma great day with my daughter. It started this morning with a nice breakfast on the way to Tucker's Hobbies in Warren, Ma, my favorite LHS. I dropped a "C" note on some Atlas Steam Era series cars ( milk cars, tankers, box ). In talking with the owner, I found out that CSX is going to be running three (3) 80 tanker car trains a week from the midwest Ethanol refineries, to Worcester, Ma, where the Providence and Worcester RR will take the cars on to Providence, RI to the processing plant. My guess is, the processing plant will mix the Ethanol with Gasolene to produce E85 fuel, which is mandated for all cars to start using now. So that will increase the train traffic by three more long trains per week !!!!! Great railfaning shots!!

Then my daughter and I went to Palmer, Ma, the hotspot of New England, as she had never seen the old Palmer RR station which is now a very nice restaurant called the Steaming Tender ( what else right guys? ) Palmer was once the home of SEVEN railroads, now it home to FOUR railroads that cross the Diamond.

RYAN: Glad you found the info useful, keep us updated on what YOU find, it might help others down the road.

MIKE: Does CSX run near your location? If so, you might see those 80 Ethanol tanker car trains run east to Massachusetts. Thanks for thoughts on day with my daughter. As you can imagine, being my only daughter along with three sons.....well, lets just say she is the "apple of my eye".

We haven't seen Der John in the Diner yet today, I think they are frozen-in up there in Nova Scotia.

Hey, Lee - on the Wally-World alert, check the cast metal aisle and their clearance area, too! Our Wal-Mart has cars for under $2, car with one of those 2-wheel trailers for under $3, and that includes some 55 and 57 Chevys, 50's Corvette, '59 Porsche convertibles and some more recent cars at those prices!

Better get down and check over your Wally's selection quick. Another Wal-Mart in our area had VW buses, too.

Blessings and a great afternoon (in about 5 minutes, getting better!),

I found some 1:87 vans at Wal-Mart today on the clearance rack. 50 cents each! I snagged 4 of them. I like the graphic on one of them, the other three are getting the nail polish removere treatment tonight.

What's for dinner?  How about meatballs on pasta?

You guys ever see a drive like this? This is the chassis of a 30 year old Bachmann I just converted to DCC. Yes, that's an open frame motor. What company made it? I have no idea. The chassis fram is two pieces, upper and lower, similar to todays Bachmann's, the drive line is somewhat similar to Athearn. Keep in mind that this was made in Germany in the 70's.

Seriously, it looks great!  That little mini-scene adds a lot of life to an area that most people skip over.
