Well Goodmorning All

Not much to write home about. Talked to Teffy yesterday and he sends his regards. The M.E.S.S. though dorment at present is in the process of going  high tech as there are 7 Tomar Upper Quadrant (4 doubles, 1 single and 2 train order board)  Semaphore signals enroute. (Yeah for the Canadian $ hitting parity with the Greenback). Now Teffy is asking "when are we going to be visiting?"

Anyway I'm very busy these days finishing up on home renos and figure I'll have the last of the painting done come FebruarySigh [sigh] I'll be a happy camper once this is all behind me...

Anybody know where I can get any of these, cheap?

Every place I see them online wants $50+ for them and I can't afford that right now.

Hello, Diners! Zoe, a cup of mocha to go please. Thanks!

'Nuther warmish/hot day but not too bad outside just yet. Not as cool as your weather up in the Northwest, though, Mark. Looks like your temps aren't varying as much as ours is.  We'll be awaiting the pics of your Challenger once you get them done and posted. Smile [:)]

Time for me to get back to the paperw**k for now. More clients in the afternoon.

Take care of yourselves, and see you after lunch!

Blessings,

[The rag weed was 10 ft tall] ***Paul, did you use a bushhog or a mower for that? Sounds like some serious growth doing on there. (been there, done that Wink [;)]

***Ed, look forward to some photos of your trip into Mexico City. It has been over 25 years since I was there. I remember some beautiful architecture, nice museum, friendly people, and finding cool sculptures I still have to this day. Have a great time!

Inlaw mess continues, but there is an end in sight. Hope my wife survives this emotionally, as she is a wreck. Farrier drops by this evening. Still praying for rain. Nothing else to report on. Hope everyone is having a great day. Cowboy [C):-)] Rob

***Garry, I think that one is of me. Although I do not know who took it, but it sure resembles the way I feel most days, (except the Orang has more energy).

I think Scott may be over sometime tomorrow. Would make for a nice "mini vacation" away from the farm and all the craziness of late, heading out to do train stuff. If he makes it, I'll post pics of the days adventures.

Evening Gang:

Rob I used a brush hog on a 52 hp tractor. It was still a job and a half.

JimCG: Mary Ann and I have talked about it and as much as we'ed like to use our lawyer I think that we're going to talk to John's lawyer. He said He'd do it on contingincy basis. In other words he dosen't get paid unless he wins.

We got a small shock today. We've been having a hard time getting our hay cut and baled. John has been trying for a week to get the guy to give him a date to do his. Well John got feed up and bought a baler and rake yesterday. Not used but new. He's going to use our tractor and do it himself. He'll do ours also. At about $2000 per bailing the stuff will pay itself off in 2 years. I guess we'll be buying a new tractor this fall. The one I like is $37,000. Four wheel drive loader and 70 hp. We can get a 0% loan for it. It's still alot of money. Mary Ann wants to go with a 2 wheel drive and no loader for $27,000. Both have cabs and air, a must for bailing. I wish I could spend that kind of money on MRRing. Boy, what a layout.

Well Daisy the dog is begging for another bed time treat. I guess I'll head out and take care of her.

I was woundering who was pounding on the door this morning. Turns out it was Vinnie looking for my credit card.

And BUMP

Good Night All

***I'm with you Paul, that 70hp with loader sounds like a winner, especially for baling. If you don't have much mud then the 2wd would be fine I suppose, but 4wd is still going to be more fun. It's only money. (right now I'm trying to figure out how to pay for new truck tires and get someone out here to fill our little JD tractor tires which have been leaking water ever so slowly for several years and are about ready to go "whoosh") Whatever version you buy, how about posting a photo of the beast!?! Enclosed cab with heat & AC and all, you might not want to come in out of the rain.Wink [;)]

Too bad all this baby learned to do is break down. I expected more being it's an Athearn Genesis loco. It will become a static display in a park on my layout.

Mornin, coffee and a short stack n sausage please Janie.

Another warm one here today, 86, some better than the 90 yesterday.

Me n Mother spent most of yesterday running round, I had an appointment in Danville VA early, then we hit some yard sales on the way back, I didn't find anything for me. Stopped by Kris's n seen the baby. I found out I had her name wrong, it's Hailie, not Kylie, Oh well, I'm just gonna call her Henry anyhow. Here's a new pic,

We gotta a couple rail fan pics while up there to. First one is the NYC diamond where the east-west tracks crossed the north-south.

There's a wye the also, you can see the start on the north- south track.

DICK,, the price for a tree here starts about $200 and goes up from there depending on how much cleaning up they do. The soft maples here can have green leaves on them and the tops blow out, because they're rotten inside. Don't ask me why, the forester didn't know why for sure either.

GARRY,, thanks for the museum pics. I remember seeing a show on it several years ago now, looked like an interesting place.

PAUL,,, what kind of tractor you looking, the price sounds some cheaper than up here for the horse. Cabs are the way to go for baling, but I still like it better without one.

JERRY, don't think we're going to Rockome today, don't really have the money to spare. I think we'll go watch the flag football games this afternoon instead, 2 grandsons are playing and one's quarter backing today and he's got a h--- of an arm on him for 8.

Best get moving on chores, got plenty to do and we may go out to the campground tonight. Hope ya'll has a good day n stay safe.

Jeff: I have to ask "what's wrong with it?" Steamers though complicated on the outside are fairly simple on the inside and can be tweeked and working with the right tongue position. I'd off to look at it but it would be a looooong wait with all the other stuff on my plate these days. Though it would look good in a  M.E.S.S. liveryPirate [oX)]

First, it stripped the main drive gear less than thirty seconds into it's initial test run. I ordered the replacement part, which took almost a year to be delivered by Athearn. The part was installed and the unit tested again, whereupon a drive wheel bearing seat broke. This can't be repaired without changing out the entire lower frame, and that ain't happening on my small income. It'll run by itself, but put even a small load on it and it'll lean over on the side with the bad bearing seat and go off the rails in a wheelie, even on a very low speed start.

HI and good morning. Jim's correct. Start about 6 or earlier, work 3 to5 hours, break for a few, do a short run, break, work  a short run. Be gone 13 hours and on the clock 6 if lucky, hours. Not to happy with paycheck. Also they have given us a "day off". Boy, does that cut the hours that would go to O.T..  Looking at the bottom line is what keeps businesses in business.

I peek in thru the side window as I don't want Vinnie to see  me.  We, Deb and I,  keep ya'll in our prayers.

May this New Year bring Health and Happiness to all.  Shalom.

in a Southern mug this morning, please & thank you.

***inch, when I see tracks like those in your photos, I get the urge to walk along them to see where they go. Always enjoyed doing that back in WA state, often seeing old barns and such from very different perspectives. Thinking back to some of the longer bridges, the movie "Stand By Me" comes to mind.

Hope everyone is doing well today.

Jeff- Re your earlier post- What the heck is that thing???

I enjoy your posts of pics and marvel at your talents. Yeah, I'm envious. Fergie may have his "M.E.S.S." but all I can do is make a mess.   Inch, ain't it nice to give the babe back to Mom to change the diaper?

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

***Jeffrey, if you have a box full of those motors, couldn't you could sell enough of them to buy a new SDSM memory card for the Olympus camera? Just a thought.
