[Cederstrand, well with PC being Z- scale now sure why not have 2nd piece, just check it so you dont eat him!]
***Thanks for the warning, I'll try to check it closely. My oldest brother tells me Z-scale does exist, and that he has some of those wee little critters living under his bed these days. I'll have to take his word for it though, because my eyes will not focus in macro-mode.

Hi gang. Just thought I'd check in and update those of you who are interested in knowing the following.
As some of you know, my beloved 14 year old beautiful tabby cat and friend Tiger was killed by a neighbors dog last wednesday evening, and when I approached the guy about it he wanted to drag me out of my truck and beat my brains out while other neighbors watched - which I wish he would have because I would not only have filed charges against him for assault, but would have also sued him for everything he owned... Anyways. We've all spent the past week celebrating Tiger's life and the good memories we had of him, and have finally accepted his untimely passing as best we can. I was told today that the guy that was so ready to beat me to death last week went down to the local animal shelter and made a $100.00 donation in Tiger's name as a jesture of good will, and to show that he was in fact sorry about what happened. I don't want to be mortal enemies with this guy, but then, we'll never be the best of buddies either. I'd just like for us to forgive one another, chalk Tiger's death up as a lesson learned for us both and go on being neighbors like we always have. There's already enough hate, meanness and ill feelings in this world without us adding to it...

***Tracklayer, You are a much stronger and more forgiving gentleman than I could ever be. My hat is off to you.
***Jeffrey, nice rust! It appears that you left a little silver showing where chains/cable/etc would be slung through the hook...very nice attention to detail. What was your technique for weathering/rusting that crane?
Howdy howdy everyone!
The planets have aligned!
Something's definitely up...I've been lucky enough to get this job with Norfolk Southern, and every day I get more excited to be heading down to Georgia to start training...And so, when I least expect it...Everything falls into place and I now have a girlfriend. It's been almost three years and I was gonna forget about it until I settle in with the railroad. But it didn't happen that way, and now I'm happily in a relationship!
A celebration I say! I wish to take over the tab for the rest of this page!

You are a noble gentleman.OK the rest of you...I have a picture of my newest addition to the family and the light of my life at the moment. Since I've been ill this little fella' and I nap together every afternoon from 2 to 3. He has the most infectuous smile and laugh and does wonders for my mental and physical well being. His name is Sean.
Thank you printer. It's been hard to say the least, but we'll eventually heal. If the shoe had been on the other foot and it had been me that was killed by the dog instead of Tiger, Tiger would have probably said - oh, too bad, I liked him, so what's for dinner?. Rotten cat... I'm sure going to miss him.
That's one cute little buddy you've got there. I bet he's a lot of fun.

Thank you Cederstrand. It's not easy to forgive for something like that, but I refuse to lower myself to his level. I also have to share in the blame because if I hadn't gotten into a habit of puting Tiger out on a leash and a false sense of security thinking he would be okay he would still be here right now... I hope that one day the same leash laws that apply to the towns and cities also apply to the rural areas as well, and that any dog that does damage or kills another animal like a cat will be put to sleep and the owner harshly fined!.
Good morning ! from Indiana.

Mornin, coffee Zoe,
Getting a little rain here, with a chance of off n on showers all day, and the next 2-3 days. No complaints here, we need it, since we're also in the drought now.
Still waiting on the new granddaughter, Doc's told Missy yesterday, that if she hasn't had by next Fri., they'll induce her.
ED, thanks for the heads up on rail images, I hadn't been over there yet. Guess I just got the lucky shot again.
ROB,, the track is still in use, [top of the rail is shiny], they haul cars from the IC into Charleston every couple days
JERRY,, they built an overpass over the south yard end a few years ago, to get into the industrial park.
PRINTER,, cute little feller ya gots there. Me n the grandkids enjoy our naps together still.
SCOTT , congrads on the lady friend. With her and the RR job, ya must be on cloud 9

This is of the main line looking west
Looking east, you can see some of the Station there on the left
Got these on the south side of the yard

How exciting for you all! Congrats a bit early! Oh, and nice pics too.
Rob, hows the inlaw thing going? Any more misadventures? How's the well holding out? Any rain coming?
Printer, thats a good lookin' boy ya got there!
Scott, my man! What up! You're just hitting on all 8 cylinders, aren't you? Congrats to you!
Tracklayer, I think you're doing the right thing. You're a good man.
Good morning, All.
I think that I will sit over here in the corner booth and savor the flavor of my coffee. I got my canning done and have the time to think of other things. The ten day forecast looks dry in the mid to high 70's, which is a little cool. The closest sprinkles might hit Portland today.
Have a great day, all.
Sue
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
A quick Good Morning, all! Zoe, cup of mocha to go, please!
Scott, congrats on the additional good news - but have you checked with the girlfriend on how well she does scenery, weathering, tracklaying (on the layout, not at work )?
Tracklayer, you have a good attitude in dealing with Tiger's loss. You might be right about if the shoe were on the other foot, from what I've seen of a lot of cats. At one psychologist's office I used to work in, he had a yellow tabby male cat that had wandered up and 'adopted' the Dr., stayed at his house. The cat had lost the last 4-6 inches of its tale somewhere before he showed up, so the Dr. named him Bobby. If a client opened the door to the Dr.'s office, Bobby would just invite himself in, and if no one came in or out, Bobby would sit outside the window (basement office, so Bobby could be seen easily) until someone opened the door to let him in. Reminded me of the saying - "Dogs have owners; cats have staff."
Inch, good to see you posting pics again. You've been busy with the young'uns and haven't probably had the time. Enjoy your pics.
Printer, that's a cute buddy you have there in Sean. Bet you all are pleased as punch with him.
Hey, Jeff - nice job on the crane - who makes that one? I hadn't thought of using sand for weathering. Thanks for the idea!
Well, I'm at work, so better get going. See everyone later!
Blessings,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Hey all.
Just popping in before s****l... The weekend is going to be busy also... but fun.
So far the weekend looks like this: Soccer game in the AM, and going to try to go to a train club meeting later that day. It'll be mixed up because my aunt is having a baby soon.
Anyways,
Scott: Nice! I'm still looking for one... There is a 7/8th dance on friday though...
Tracklayer: You have a good heart. You and your cat are in my prayers.
Well... It's about that time...
Mark

Congrads on the rail job, I am trying to get one with either UP or BNSF up here in the Seattle area. If you don't mind my asking for old are you Scott?

The usual, and some freshif available. That stuff is addictive, but sooo good. Thanks!
***Printer, Sean is a cutie.
***Scott, congrats on the girlfriend. All sounds right with the world for you these days.
***Tracklayer, here in the country a stray dog is shot if it is messing with someones livestock, or belongs to a fueding neighbor. If you are cordial with your neighbors and your dog(s) get out, they will call you instead. But some out here, especially children of redneck poacher types, shoot everything that move from song birds to turtles. Honestly, I have little respect for most of the people I have met in North Georgia. My worth.
***Philip, funny you should ask about the inlaws. I do not know how Barbara maintains her cool, except she has practiced with patients at the hospital for many years. The MIL's switch must have been triggered this morning and she is on the warpath again. Her eyes reminded me of Gollum from Tolkien's work. Found out the ambulance would cost $1,600 to transport the FIL from nursing home to Doctors office and then to farm, so I told the wife I'll pick him up and put him in the van myself, no problem. You know how much hay that can buy!
Speaking of hay, need to pick up a couple round bales. Still no rain in sight. Have a nice afternoon all! Rob
I have just one word for you Rob.......OUCH!
(BTW, forget hay.......think train stuff!)
***Horses and other critters come first, THEN trains. I hear the donkeys calling for breakfast, gotta go.
Jim: This may give you a little better view of the detail I put into the finish on the boom.
Good afternoon y'all!
Chloe, how about a cup of coffee please? And a turkey club sandwich sounds purdy good right now. Thank ya!
I'm still bouncing off the walls with my current streak of good luck. I ain't use to this.
Printer: Boy, Sean is one healthy, happy lookin' little guy! Congrats to ya! Hope you feel better soon too; glad to hear that Sean is helpin' ya feel okay again.
inch: Cloud 9 is an understatement right now...
PC: Love the 8 cylinder reference! I'm like a long training running and I ain't gonna stop!
Jim in CG: Don't know how she is about model scenery...Not yet. Haven't really talked that much with her about model trains, just about the job and my irregular schedule that we'll have to work around.
Mark: Good luck at the dance man! Those things are pretty fun if you get in there and enjoy yourself, and ya never know what might happen.
Jerry: Nah, she ain't a train enthusiast, but she's accepting of it at least. I can't ask for too much more.
Gryphon: Good luck with UP or BNSF. jhhtrainsplanes who used to frequent here works for Uncle Pete around Arkansas. Maybe you can get in touch with him. It's been a while since he's been on though as far as I know. And I am only 18, straigh outta high school and onto the railroad!
Rob: All is right well with me! And I GoogleMapped your address, and it's only about two hours away from where I'll be, so that's not gonna be much of a drive at all!
Mmmkay, I'll see y'all around!
afternoon guy's,,, Nice and hot here, makes a change to be over the 80 mark in September.
Scott Great fun when everythings going your way, enjoy it.
Duke you know,, i don't have a clue what she wants to do, she's in turmoil at present trying to decide what to do, all our friends are going to NZ or Oz, even my sisters going in six months for good, my two cousins, both firefighters are also going to Oz with there familys,,, there will only be us left, Mmm
