Didn’t let the museum interfere with the mrr yesterday, so was able to get most of the work done on converting the cookie box to a factory. Detail stuff this morning, and here we are…The Vector Building. There are three architectural elements in this that I saw on Monday on my trip to Truro. The “bump out” office windows are on a truck dealership, and I thought they were worth a try. The concrete slab side walls, and the weather shields and drop plate ramps on the loading bays give me some variety. Modeling the modern era makes scratching box shaped buildings a breeze! I also saw a bunch of different types of roof details, A/C units, vents and such. Must take some time to do some of those.
Gazoo You’ll soon get used to the “any topic” atmosphere around the Diner. Mind you, we keep it G rated, even without the help of the Forum Police, as that’s how most of us like it.

Colby ......... don't pay attention to those who tease about your liking trains. Did you know freight trains consume 1/3 the fuel and do 1/3 the polluting than is the case with trucks hauling equivalent amounts of cargo over equivalent distances? Tell them that. Trains are good for America's energy and environmental issues. Also, it's good to read your stuff. Sounds like you have learned to use your time wisely. You will be amazed sometime 25 to 50 years from now just how fast the time went by. You will be gad you wasted little of your time as others (teasers included) may have done. Best wishes.

Good evening everyone....we have yet another Nor'easter drawing down on us, and central MA is right on the border again between heavy wet snow, sleet, or heavy rain, maybe some of each, before it departs for Nova Scotia. And, is if this weren't enough, we have a bigger Nor'easter due here Sunday into Monday, and that has a lot of people worrying. Monday is the Boston Marathon, 24,000 runners, and they don't cancel unless things are REALLY bad, so the runners are in for a bad day.
Today I spend the whole day up back doing the 2nd brush burn. With all this rain/snow coming tonight, it is ideal to burn because you don't worry about flare-ups on the woodline in the wind on a hill, even though I rake and soak the daylights out of the hot ashes.

SUE: You might want to try using Colorado Blue Spruce tree tips for trees. They are MUCH stronger and do not wimp over like Canadian hemlock, like all firs. I plan to try using dowels, drill holes in the side on downward angles, and place the proper size spruce tips/branch ends into these holes. The dowels will be stained bark coloring first of course. Then hair spray or clear Krylon spray to preserve the foliage. Did you get the book or tape yet Sue..."White Cascade" ?

Scientific American just had an article this issues that says the ocean temps are rising, not just an El Nino, or La Nina, which means that the American Southwest and almost all of California is going to become very arrid. But, the Pacific storms will now move further North and pound the Canadian west coast and all of Canada will become much wetter as storms track across southern Canada instead of in the northern U.S. You may not have to worry about water barrels any more. LOL

That's an ultra-sonic jewerly cleaner Mother bought me to clean wheels and such on my old engines, but so far all I've cleaned is jewerly for her and 2 DIL's. I'd been wanting one for a long time but wouldn't spend the money for one. One of the suppliers she deals with in her jewerly buisness had them on sell for less than $20 bucks, most the time their $50 plus.

[drool]RT, the regular stress test might not be too bad - they gave me one a few years back after I’d gone to the ER (with what turned out later was probably nothing more than a muscle spasm on my left side). Good that you won’t be glowing in the dark... On my stress test, they had me going on the treadmill for about 15 minutes until they finally asked me to step off. No X-rays, just monitoring me electronically. Usually they say to keep going and let them know if you’re in pain or need to quit. Hopefully yours will be as uneventful as mine.
