Hello everybody........
I like Jerry's idea for a Chicago hot dog. I'll take one too.
Thanks, Dick, for hunting troll. Is he out of business for good? Also, Dick, I'd like some of strawberries!!!!!!! ...sounds sooooo good!
Anybody recall milk in real glass bottles?. Last time I had some it was much more expensive than in a carton. BUT it tasted SO MUCH BETTER!. ...I have no idea if it's available anywhere now.
RT...... Wow!... the USS Wisconsin should have killed more than a troll with such fire power! ....and I like the root beer float sign!
Bobk .... yep...get busy with the scenery! ...... actually, I know you continue to have sad times. Keep sharing your feelings with us....
Now, Cape Jim....... what are you up too? That's some steak! Are intending to tale the eating crown away from Ryan? ... I know.................BEEF....it's what's for dinner!
I worked some more on updating my passenger car fleet today. Being a CB&Q modeler.... I'll say This "Budd" is for you!!!!
Hint for Canadians: Some Tim Hortons coffee and donuts would be good in the morning!
Meanwhile, back at the roundhouse, time to get fired up!
Happy Model Railroading!

I think you might need both.
That's in honor of the 'Chasing of the Troll(s)' - shall we make it a holiday in the Diner?

Okay guys, we're gonna have to watch the cracks about weatherguessers - I mean, meteorologists, looks like! So, Dave, if my local meteorologist at our TV station drives a Prius, he/she might have an edge on predicting the weather?
Another pretty good day at w**k, great for catching up on that paper'stuff'. Hope tomorrow will be just as pleasant...
Our MRR club had voted last Monday on what to put in a triangular area along our new stretch of track (that'll give us a continuous run). We were going to put in the Campbell's abandoned house (one of the members who has built one on his layout had volunteered to build the one for the club layout). However, we got word that that kit is out of stock, so we'll have to decide on another building or kit to put there instead.
Bob K., hope you can get back to that one stretch of mountain on your club's layout - it's just begging for some more nice scenery, shrubs etc.
Jerry, that sounds like you had some fun with running those hoppers down the line today. Think I might need to work on some loads for my hoppers (though, I will need to finish assembling the Accurail 3-bay hoppers...).
I'll be over in the corner booth, working on polishing off my steak - say, Chloe, could I have a glass of wine to go with my steak? Thanks!
Blessings,
Jim in Cape Girardeau

Hi guys,
Kind of an off day for me. Last evening must have taken it's toll. Not feeling to chaty now, just let you know I'm still here and doing so-so. Hope I'm feeling better later, was on a roll with good days and high spirits they'll be back.
Dick, Yes I'm extremely proud of these children, April was a dedicated, caring and loving mother to them.
Maybe I'll go to the club tonight, my co-chair for the scenery commitee is doing a tree clinic. This is the guy that is experienced in the theatrical scenes and has some great techniques. I need to get my a** in gear and get back to my scenery. Gee, think they may fire me.....
I haven't touched this spot since March 15th
I really hope that the club and all the great guys there can help take my mind off some sorrow.

Afternoon all, an irish coffee Zoe please,
Still cool out, 55, think we might light the pellet stove tonight. Still got a few bags left and the price of propane isn't any cheaper.
DICK,, JEFF,, Thanks for the info, guess we'll try the cable bit. We're just wanting to move files, pics and such from our old one onto the new one. Mothers looking at an Emachine [guess their suppose to be ok] with Vista already installed. Our old one has widows XP and is bout 4 years old with some problems. We are thinking of fixing this onne down the road and hooking up both of them, but for now, it''ll be used for games.
Best got moving, J Birds waking up from her nap

Good afternoon everyone....sorry I am late getting into the Diner, but I was up late last night fighting Troll. I contacted Bergie and gave him the details, then we went Troll hunting....GONE!!! This guy was posting a new subject every few minutes, and they were outright raunchy. He was one sick puppy.
Just got back froma Home Depot run, needed a few supplies, then a stop by Coopers Farm for farm fresh milk......now that the cows are out in the pasture eating new grass, the milk is better than ever.
Still cloudy here, it was supposed to clear by noontime, but the clouds are hanging tough. Now they tell us that we have a Nor'easter, a slow one, headed up the coast from Dave and Ryan's area, bringing us copious amounts of rain.......last night we received 2.16" in all those storms, now this coastal storm will bring us 3-4" more !!!!! Who let the cows out ? Moo Moo.
GARRY: We have 5 boxes of fresh strawberries in the frig.....we have them on cereal in the morning, a dish at lunch, and on yogurt ice cream ( Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia Yogurt ) at night.......
TRENT: That is no fun.....you need to keep hydrated.....try some flavored Green Tea made by Arizona...no sugars added.
MIKE: Are you trying to move data from the old PC to a new one, or, are you planning to keep the older PC and want to share files between the two? If you are keeping the older PC, you can use a wireless Router, and then set your PC's to share files. You can also use hard wire, by running Cat 5 or Cat 6 cable in your house from the router to each PC. If you just want to move files from the old PC to the new one, Jeff has told you what you can do there. I can tell you that it is real easy with the new VISTA operating system. All you do then is follow some easy directions to save your files, then when you turn on the new PC it will download from a CD or Disc, or Hard drive, whatever you saved your files on. Personally, I have an external hard drive that I use for backup files, and in case of a crash. Then all you need to do is download your files from the External hard drive to your new PC.
Microsoft no longer supports Windows 98 or ME operating systems, and all new PC's sold come with Vista. So if you are getting a brandy new system, it will have Vista, which I have found to be very stable and so far, security has been tight.
BOBK: You must be very proud of your children, they are doing great.......I hope you get a chance to do some camping with them this summer, or, vacationing somewhere nice. With your daughter headed off to college this September, it is more important than ever to have family memories of summer fun. Our 4 children still love to talk about the fun trips we did each summer, now they do the same with their families.
Morning
I'll have some strawberry's on my cereal, please! (Hint for Dick.)
Trent ...... Sorry to learn about the ER trip. Hope your condidition stays okay now!
Colby....the cat is a classic! Here is ours:
Jim (Cape G) .... Thanks for the comment. Yes to ATSF, SP, and DRGW. Some of my very old engines are a 4 unit set of Tenshodo FT's in the warbonnet scheme. They are now about 49 years old. They still run just fine and haul my old Tenshodo passenger cars. Newest ATSF are my Stewart F3 4-unit set for my Walthers Super Chief. ...and there are a bunch of other engine for those roads.
I'm still very concerned about Michael.
BTW, I wrote email to one of the MR editors about the troll situation. He too is frustrated about people like that and with the nature of the internet which enables stuff like that. I'll leave his strong, unkind words for the individual unquoted here.
Have a nice day!
Good morning. I will just have coffee this morning.
I am gone for 2 days and I am totally lost.
Good to see you here, Dave.
JR, Are you tearing up track to make your changes?

The rail fence is an arena( I used to have horses), but you could call it a corral. I’ll be working on fencing a pasture. The fence posts used around here for these seem to me to be round posts about 5-6 inches thick. Sounds like I should go for the 8’ spacing. Selective compression for the # of strands of wire would make 5 into 3 in my case (N) otherwise it will look too crowded. I would probably still use 10 ft centers. In the lower field I used the round posts. Some people go further than that between posts. I wonder what Paul uses.Mike: You were thinking of using hair for fence wire too? Looks like our front is through. I know not because I'm a meteorologist (I am), but because once again I got a tire pressure warning light in my Prius. That thing is more sensitive than a microbarograph!
And oh, yeah, am I gonna need coffee today!!!
Modeling the Rio Grande Southern First District circa 1938-1946 in HOn3.
Jeff's in for some sunny weather, and I'm due for a little rain.
Forecast 8 VIPIR Radar is indicating a few showers and even a couple of thundershowers on this Thursday morning. No severe weather is expected but lightning and brief heavy rain is possible with the stronger cells. It will be a breezy and cool day with highs in the lower 60s. Our normal high is in the mid 70s for this time of the year.
Late tonight high pressure should clear our skies and with light winds there is the possibility of scattered light frost developing. I am looking for a low of 38 degrees here in the city(the record is 35 for tomorrow set back in 1973). Some areas could hit the mid 30s. We might want to cover up or bring inside any tender vegetation just to be on the safe side. After our chilly start on Friday it should be a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine and highs in the upper 60s. The weekend is still looking nice with warmer temperatures returning to the region. Highs will be in the 70s on Saturday and Sunday. I am a little concerned about Sunday afternoon. Computer models are bringing down a weak cold front. There may be just enough lift to trigger a few spotty showers Sunday afternoon. This is mostly a concern for qualifying out at the track (It's May in Indianapolis you know!). Bubble day could get interesting!
As for the meltdown in the big room, it's unfortunate that some folks just have such a hard time getting along with other folks.

Bob, I didn't pull you in. You followed me willingly. You were ready. As you said, Michael may not be there yet. It's OK though, we'll be here for him when he is. And Michael, if your reading this, I'm praying for you too. I know that a lot of us are. There's no doubt that what you're going through is something that is just beyond most peoples ability to conceive of, I know I can't, but God does know your pain, first hand, and He's there for you. He's just waiting patiently for you to reach out to Him.
Good Morning, Zoe, I'd like one of those chocolate donuts Bill T. brought in, and a cup of coffee, please. Thanks!
Well, hopefully this morning Bergie will be bringing in the bulldozer to clear out all the fire damage in the general forums from last night. Sheesh, that poor kid out there needs some help (and maybe also more supervision at home, no matter how old he is...)!
It got fairly cool last night here in Cape Girardeau - mid to upper 40's! Not the usual mid-May temps (global warming? ). Supposed to go a little lower tonight (after maybe hitting the low 70's today), and even get to the mid-to-low 40's. The weather guesser was even saying that some of our more western counties might reach the 30's. But the humidity will likely be low again today (it's 77 percent now, but the fog hasn't all evaporated just yet - was about in the low 30 percent range yesterday). One of those 'take a jacket' mornings, and carry the thing back home in the evening.
At church last night, we had the monthly Vespers service. This one was a healing service, with Communion also. This particular service always runs a bit long, anyway. Near the end, our associate pastor said that those who wanted to stay for prayers and healing could, but those who had to go could leave if needed. I always look forward to this service (it's an annual - might be semi-annual now, we've had it for at least a couple or three years).
Nice looking engines there, Garry! Got any Santa Fe or SP ones? Oh heck, Rio Grande would be good, too!
Michael, where are you, friend? We might have to get out the search dogs pretty soon to find you...
Time for me to get ready for the 'W' thing - if I don't go in to w**k, Dick might not be able to afford his trip to Home Depot, or Paul those new tires for the tractors.

A much easier method is to simply have the drive from your current computer put into the new one as a slave drive, then copy the files on it to to the new drive. After you're finished you can always reformat the old drive for data storage or put it back in the old computer.
Mornin, coffee and a couple doughnuts Zoe.
Thought I'd stop in for a bit, no early [5 am] kids today. No MRR time to busy with every thing else, maybe I'll get some in the morning, suppose to be down in the 30's for the low.
I see the TROLLS were out last night. They remind me of a feller I once knew, had 12 years of schoolin and never got past the 6'th grade. Hope Bergie takes care of him,but I know he'll sneek back in again.
