Good afternoon. Been a busy day at the shop today. I put wheel sets on four desks this morning, prepared another twenty-two for delivery and helped load them, stained the parts for a special order, hand sanded partsfor another ten desks and helped assemble eight others. Boy, are my dogs yelping!

Zoe, what's going on - nobody's been in since 9:35 this morning? Confused [%-)] Must be more than just PC sleeping in today Zzz [zzz] - and good for you PC - let the boss know how important you are at work! Thumbs Up [tup]

Maybe everyone went by the Trackside P.D. to find out what the fuss was all about? Dunno...

Work's been pretty good so far - getting a lot of the paperwCensored [censored]k caught up. We have some rain currently in Cape G. - was fairly strong when I left for lunch, but tapered back by the time I got home for lunch. Now, if the clouds can hold the heat down some this afternoon, that'd be great!

No sign of the A/C repair guy at home so far, unless he went to get some parts. Sure hope he gets here and gets it running again today.

Well, I'll just have the fajitas and a Pepper today for me, Zoe.

Yum! Dinner [dinner] I'll be chowing down here in the corner on these. Oops - well, how about a fajita special, since I appear to be paying for lunch? Now I know where everyone was - they were waiting for me to hit TOP... Wink [;)]

Mornin' All!

Yes, thats right, I am a bit later then usual!  That's because I took this week off from work!  I SLEPT IN!!!!!!  Yup, I'm going crazy!  I took 3 days earlier this year, and now I'm taking a whole week!  My boss is freaking out because the last vacation time I took before all this was in 2004!  He's gotten used to me being there.  Oh well!  I'm planning on doing a whole lot of NOTHING!!

Well the rain finally let up just about the time we got my son to MDA camp yesterday, so that's good.  Nothing worse then going to camp just to watch it rain from your cabin.

Weather looks good for right now, but who knows, this is Indiana after all!

Catch up with you all later.  I've got a ton of NOTHING to do!

Oh, and Hoople.......keep the card.  It's been declined and I called them and had the bill forwarded to you anyways! Wink [;)]  Have fun with that!

Inch, a laser sight huh?  Well how about that?  What'll they think of next!?!

Good Morning, Zoe. Cup of coffee for me, please. Looks like PC's still covering it, huh? Thanks, PC!Smile [:)]

Some rain this morning a little north of Cape (and across the river in Illinois). Time to head back to the 'grind' this morning - Dick and Paul and our other 'retarded' persons want their checks to keep coming. Wink [;)] Hmm, how long until I get to join the ROF crew?

Where's Ryan been lately? I realized after I'd posted last night that hadn't heard from him in a bit. On vacation?

Hopefully, the air conditioner repair guy will be able to get the A/C going today (and not have to order some parts or such).

Guess tonight we'll be voting on whether or not to take the offer from the church (and thus, have to move, once the basement area next door is open).

Keep 'em up and running today, folks. I'll check back tonight before MRR club meeting.

Blessings,

Good evening:

Inch said:   "PC, that piece of MOW eguipment is for laser aligning the track [If memory right]. And thanks for the pies."  are you sure it's not some leftover props from a Star Wars movie?

Yes, Jim, we've had some rain finally.  Forecast is for chance of rain tomorrow. The Smokey the Bear sign in Land between the Lakes warns of severe risk of forest fires. Anyhow, we're in the west end of KY in the Land between the Lakes area.

Today, I started building a baggage mail car for the layout.

G'nite.

Well, our weatherguy tonight said that in one hour we got as much rain as we'd had for the whole month of June so far. Shock [:O] From the weather radar maps, it looks like Garry may have got some rain, too (how far east in Kentucky are you, by the way?).

Time to get back to getting ready for bed for me.

Good Evening, Chloe - I heard that PC was buying and decided I was hungry enough for the steak special, please! Dinner [dinner] Thanks, PC!   (Now, so long as a certain someone gets back with that card before PC notices it's missing..)Whistling [:-^]Whistling [:-^]Whistling [:-^]

Jeff, sorry to hear about your Mom (but glad she's a bit better). Will be having her in my prayers, along with all the rest of us in here pulling for her - and all your family; probably toughest on your Dad. Hey, for someone who didn't go to college, you sure know how to lead a conga line (Chloe showed me the pics - she said she'll be putting them up on her website later tonight...)

Colby, ditto what Dick said about coaches and ball teams (of all varieties). He doesn't need to be taking anything out on the team members, no matter how many games were lost. Say, your team name isn't the Cubs, is it? Whistling [:-^]Whistling [:-^] (just kidding, if any of you are really Cubs fans...)

PC, I'd have to agree with DerJohn's comments - I had to stop and re-read that line about the ballast spreader - caught me by surprise with that one... Wink [;)] Hope your son has a fun time at camp. I remember one of the favorite things in summer for me was Boy Scout camp. Didn't matter how hot the days were, we could find shade or go to the swimming place Yeah!! [yeah] or cool off somehow.

Paul, that cup of coffee Saturday had to last me a while. I got a call around noon, and got back around 8 p.m. Shock [:O] About six hours of that was getting one kid placed in a hospital - there were some medical issues and one facility shied away because of that. Finally did get the kid some help, though. I also got to see some of the familiar Dr's. & nurses and techs, since I haven't been on-call as much with the new setup (plus God's been kind to me on my on-calls). I have another on-call this Wednesday, but that one is only from 4:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. (which seems much shorter in comparison to a 24 hour stint).

Paul - did you get any rain in your neck of the woods like Mike and Jerry did? Garry, how about Kentucky - you get some rain for your parched browngrass bluegrass? We got some this evening. It started with a severe thunderstorm warning around 6:15-6:45 as the start of the front moved in, and it's been raining off and on most of the evening since.

Garry, glad to help you out on the coffee - I'll swing by Luc's on the way here in the morning and pick up another bag in case our servers are running low. Wink [;)]

Sounds like a major railfan trip for you, Jordan (csxguy) - you might need more film (or a bigger memory card if you're shooting digital) - and you know we will be looking forward to your pics, right? Thumbs Up [tup]

Jake, I probably would've run if I thought a pit bull was after me, too! Good thing it wasn't that, though. [Whew!]

Oh yeah, Saturday I also noticed that my apartment's air conditioner has quit working (fan and/or compressor, not sure which - but it isn't blowing anything if I try to have it on, so I turned it off). I called the landlord and left a message, and he called me back just before I got paged. Said he'd called two different guys about coming to see about fixing it, but that they might not be by until Monday with it being the weekend. It wasn't fixed by the time I got back from my call out, and I was glad I didn't have anymore calls last night. May need to take another shower in the morning just to wash the sweat off from tonight. Hoping the rain will drop the outside temp and some of it will get in the windows through the night (it's hard to get cross circulation in my apartment). This afternoon, I went by the local Panera's and got a soda (free refills Smile [:)]) and stayed a couple or three hours to cool my body temp down before I went back home.

Better go rinse off and get ready for bed (after the news).

See everyone in the morning! Prayers for all in need, and for your families as well.

Blessings and many prayers,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

I couldn't figure out what that was either actually.  I figured I'd play dumb (not really much playing there) and maybe somone would clue me in.  As for the tanks, I think thats "wet water" for gluing the ballast in place before they add the weeds.......or maybe they're just spraying the water as they settle the ballast in order to keep the dust down.  It's been awful dry around here until the last couple of days.  Now we're finally getting some much needed rain.

Hey der, I figured out what that thing is!

Things are going well at the new NTRES (we moved due to host problems).  We've had about a third of our previous members join.  We'll be gone at Yellowstone beginning Thursday and coming back around the 14th of July.  Fortunately, there is a good chance of snagging some internet, so I'll post pictures and stuff.  We'll be near major BNSF lines along the freeway as well (can you say "MAJOR RAILFAN SIDE TRIP!").

Jeff- Sorry to hear about your mother.  I'm praying for her.

Have a great day!

Hey guys,

last friday night I stayed the night at my freinds house... Well in my naborhood there is a mean pitbull gaurd dog that got loose, we were walking to my freinds house  (right down the street)  @ 10:30 P.M. , and he just stops and says "shhh" what we heard was a chain dragging on the ground. He took off running towerds my house and I followed suit. I looked behind me and saw a dog. Then the addrenoline kicked in and I Ran the fastest I've ever ran in my life. we got to my back door and to my worst fear it was locked. I started to slam on the door and door bell. and after what seemed like forever of ringing it my bro answerd the door. we shoved him out of the way an ran inside. After a few minutes inside my mom said she would drive us to his house. Well we get outside and saw the dog. It turns out it's my freinds dog who got loose and was waiting for him. the dog had seen him run and thought he was playing.

When we were running it seemed like everthing was slow. I know your not supposed to run from a dog but i did. Well that was my experence this weekend. Anyway,Jeff i'm sorry to here about your Mom hope she gets better. Still no rain here... No time on the layout ether.

Good morning, gang.  Coffee please.

I should be around for a few days.  Friday and Saturday I was at a Pacific Northwest Christmas Tree Association Meeting.  It was our annual Farm Tour.  They take us by bus to visit local farms.  This year we visited some first class farms.  I always learn a lot.

It is raining so we might get a little layout time.

Busy day today!  I've got to take my boy to MDA camp.  It's something he really looks forward to each summer.  The Muscular Dystrophy Association puts on a camp for all of Jerrys Kids each year and he just has a ball there.

Oh, and we've finally been getting that rain we've been needing!  It rained the night before last, all day yesterday, and all night last night.

Oh, and Chloe......fix my friends up with whatever they want.  Thats right, use the credit card that I left behind the counter.  What do you mean "declined"?  That can't be!  What do you mean "party"?  Seafood party!  Who.......Jeff!  You mean he..........  Oh he did, did he?  Alright, here's a couple of Ben Franklins to cover today.

Now where's that Jeff?!?

Good evening, diners.

It's actually raining here now.  It's about time.

I looked into IHC's website today. Listed under "New Products" are 2-10-2 steam locomotives with 24 different models from which to select. All 24 are already sold out.  FERGIE!

Have a nice evening everyone.

Evening Gang:

Jeff I'm so sorry to hear that you mom is back in the hospital. My thoughts are with you and your family. I'll keep a prayer for her.

JimCG: Sit back and relax and have another cup on me.

We hauled hay over to the side of the fields all day. Except for the couple, three hours that we spent in town trying to get a flat tier fixed. It was the right front on my tractor. The hauling really went fast with both of us doing it. Next we have to haul it across the UP tracks and to the hay lot.

Has anyone heard from Micheal?

Well I'm going to hit the showers.

PC: What is that at the far left end of the MOW in the 22-06-073.jpg ? At first glance it looks like it should be on farm equipment.  Surely the weeds can't be bad enough to need a combine!Laugh [(-D] The fluids tank on 074 looks like it belongs on a farm tooSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]
