Grayfox:Thanks for the support. It's very welcome.
With all that's going on right now, I just don't have much interest in the forum. I'm gonna turn in early and call it a night.
Thanks to all for the prayers and support. She's doing a little better this evening.

Good evening everyone......we arrived back home from coastal Maine yesterday at 2pm. The weather was great, the seafood even better. The outside hot spa and pool overlooking the ocean from the cliff 50 feet above the ocean is really an experience. It was so clear I could almost see Nova Scotia. I thought I saw Fergie's ship far out to see through my telephoto lens.
PAUL: I am sorry to hear of the loss of lives due to the flooding in your area. We were watching the Weather Channel while we were away and we witnessed the severity of flash flooding. I cannot begin to imagine how these families will cope with their loss.
COLBY: I managed Minor League, and Little League for 10 years, and Senior League for 3 years, and I have seen managers and coaches like yours. Baseball is supposed to be fun first and foremost. Secondly, it is instructional. That means that the manager and coach "teaches" the game of baseball to the players. Some coaches and managers try to re-live "their" lives through the players. They want to win so bad, that they lose sight of what they are supposed to be doing. My advice is talk to your parents, and have them and other parents talk to the League President about this coach. Yelling and screaming is not allowed by Williamsport. And I certainly hope he is not using profane language, for if he is, that is cause for dismissal as a coach...PERIOD !!!!
DUKE: That is some rotary plow. They use these extensively on mountain railroads, and areas that get copious amounts of snow and drifting where the regular Diesel locomotives with plows, can't bust through the packed drifts, like Donner Pass, and the Cascades.
FERGIE: That is very interesting about the tidal wave in 1929. That is the first time that I ever heard about this. Do they know what caused it? It could have been an earthquake of course, and most likely was, however a huge section of the continental shelf could have broken away, and this would also cause a tidal wave. I know that the scientists are very concerned about the same thing happening off Cape Hatteras.

PC: What is that at the far left end of the MOW in the 22-06-073.jpg ? At first glance it looks like it should be on farm equipment. Surely the weeds can't be bad enough to need a combine! The fluids tank on 074 looks like it belongs on a farm too

I don't know how much more I can take this. Today we lost 16-6 and coach lost it in the 6th inning. He started up a blue streak 5 miles long. yelling at all of us, singling a few of us out. He does not give us details on how to play our postions durring the game so we can play better. My team is on a 4 game losing streak. Coach yells durring every game, and just takes the fun right out of it, and demoralizes the team when he could be encouraging us and get a rally going. The game is simply no longer fun to me. All because of the coach. I'm serously thinking of either switching to the team I was on last year. Which I had a lot more fun on, or simply quitting the team and do summer swimming.
The whole team is sick and tired of listening to the coach game after game yelling and cursing at us because we made a bad throw, didn't field the ball right even though we got the ball into the infield and kept the runners from scoring or getting extra bases.

She's at Byrd Regional, which is the largest hospital in this area. We now know what's wrong with her and the prognosis is not good. She wants us to just let her go, but my father, my sisters and I are not prepared to do that. Never in my forty-seven years have I ever seen my father cry, until today. This is very serious.
Jeff ....... We diners are all concerned about "Mom". Praying for her and for you. Thanks DavidP for keeping us informed. Is she at a local hospital? Reason for asking is to suggest moving her to a larger hospital elswhere. Not to be nosey, but it wokred for me. I now go to Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, TN (over 100 miles from here) for my problem rather than going to local hospital.
Thanks for coffee, Jim.
Good morning All....We are getting some much needed rain and its cool here..Its posta be hot next week for the fair....I have been having trouble with the internet service it comes and goes got it back yesterday but then I couldn't log on to Model Railroader.....Inch have you been having any trouble? Have been working on the coal mine got it about right...
Jeff.....Our thoughts and prayers are with your Mother.....Hang in there Buddy.....
I'll have a cup of coffee to go and try to drop back in later if internet doesn't go down again...You all have a good one....Jerry
David Parks I am the terror that flaps in the night!
Morning, Janie - I heard about the ruckus in here the past few days. Did the fire alarm actually go off from PC's card overheating? No kiddin'... Well, I'll have some of Ed's OJ, one of Bill T.'s donuts (the chocoate ones), cup of coffee, and some waffles, please. Thanks, Paul!
Oh yeah, I did find this to bring along that Luc sent:...
That should make certain coffee drinkers happy.
Looks like it's been hectic in here earlier, Janie - glad you and the twins were able to get things cleaned up so quickly. Oh, you had some of the sloppy eaters help you? Good idea!
Got my laundry done last night, since I'm on-call from 8 a.m. today until 8 a.m. Sunday. Hoping God will be gracious to me, and Cape will have a calm day and night.
In my time at home today (so long as the thing clipped on my belt doesn't go off too much), I'm going to do some figuring of what I absolutely need out of this paycheck and what I can set back for the attorney. Got the student loan payment off and the phone and electric bills are set up to be deducted out early next week, and got groceries last night after laundry. Car tank's still about half full, so I may see if I can get to the next payday without having to add to it. I usually don't drive lots of miles - I live less than a couple of miles from work, laundry, bank, or grocery. Conservation mode kicking in. (not quite the same as when we're saving up for that loco we saw last week at the LHS, but y'know...
We had our monthly staff meetings this week, and they spent a lot of time showing us numbers for various programs in our agency (which isn't always a good sign - last time they did that was before they reorganized/trimmed/decimated the crisis team, and gave us two days to pick our new jobs). I got there a bit late, but did find out that they are saying they will try to give us 3 percent pay raises and increase our mileage rate to 31 cents a mile. Mmmmfff!! Well, I won't put that in the budget until I see it in my paycheck, but hopefully it will really happen....
Jeff, sorry to hear that your Mom's back in the hospital after just getting out. Will be praying for the doctors to get wisdom and figure out the best way to treat her that will help.
Duke, more nice pics there - that streetcar is like the kind that St. Louis still was running back when I was a wee lad. That snowblower looks huge - but I'm sure they needed the extra weight to break through drifts and/or ice. That Transportation Museum is a fun place to visit, all right. Oh, if you would've been by my office Friday you might have liked what one of our case workers had - a big Harley bike. The case worker was taking off that day to go for a 90 mile ride with his brother and friends, and he had his doo rag (learned it was to keep the inside of the helmet from getting hair oils, etc. on it), Harley shirt, gloves, the whole regalia!
I'll grab a seat in the booth and finish my breakfast and work sip on my coffee for a while. (Sorry 'bout that, Paul)!
Prayers for those who are ailing, and for rain for those (like Garry, Inch, Jerry and others) whose areas need it. We've been a bit dry in Cape Girardeau, too.
Blessings,
Jim in Cape Girardeau

Mornin, just coffee for me Janie. Hearing thunder outside now, radar shows some more rain heading this way. We got ½" yesterday and some more won't hurt none, other than we've got a family re-union this afternoon.
Mothers been busy decorating 4 cakes, 1 for today and 3 burthen days tomorrow. Me, I've been busy with kids n chores, did get a little more ground cover on the layout and the control drawer done. Now if I just had the wiring done in it, I could run trains again.
JEFF,, hoping for the best with your mom and understand your feelings bout the doc. I've been there too I physically throwed out of #2 sons room one time over something bout the same.
I see the security cam caught who was eating the pies and cleared me, PC naughty naughty.

Good evening diners .......
The gray things in the sky were clouds and the wet stuff coming down was rain. I had almost forgotten. It did not last long. Soon the bright thing in the sky chased away the rain. Severe dought continues here.
Jeff, I enjoyed reading you remarks and your solution to the problem. It's a good answer to those telling all the myths about fuel prices. Fact is fuel prices are contolled by international commodity exchanges and not oil companies. Also, Unlce Sam is the price gouger with about 1 in 3 oil company revenue dollars going to taxes. Further, only 1 in 10 oil company revenue dollars is for profits. Stock dividends is a small fraction of the profits.
In my workshop, I've now weathered 44 freight cars in the past few days.
Happy Model Railroading
Evening Gang: Not much today. I can see that not much is happening here ether. Today was sunny for the most part. It was cooler this afternoon and almost comfortable. I did some more on the far back. It took two trips with the front end loader and grapple to get the tree trimmings out. I finally got the grass cuttings raked up late this afternoon. Tomorrow I need to haul hay, so I'd better get to bed.
Good Night All
OK it's on me again.
Just a couple of pics from my neck of the woods........
Caught this guy just as the sun was coming up. My batteries were dying, so the quality isn't too good.http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Prototype%20Train%20Photos/6-22-075.jpg
Then I saw a headlight up the tracks, so I went to investigate. Lo and behold, CSX #12 was waiting for the green. I think this is the lowest CSX numbered loco I've seen.http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Prototype%20Train%20Photos/6-22-070.jpg
Then on the way home from work, I came across some MOW equipment that CSX left out. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Prototype%20Train%20Photos/6-22-073.jpg http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Prototype%20Train%20Photos/6-22-074.jpg
All in all, pretty cool.
A friend of mine sent me this today.
Just a note to tell you that my mailbox is beingflooded with mail concerning gas prices and illegalimmigrants. They request that I boycott the oilcompanies and to provide amnesty to the illegalimmigrants. I have become jaded to the varioussolutions proposed by the Republicans, Democrats,Sierra Club, and ACLU, so I have elected to solve theproblems as they affect me. My response solves bothmy gas and illegal immigrant problems.... I have hired illegal immigrants to push my car. They're plentiful and cheaper than buying gas. Then Ipay them in Pesos so they have to go home to spend it.Don't you love it when a plan comes together?

ill be back in an hour or so.
Evening Gang:
PC: You just have to keep an eye on this bunch. I only had the steak and a piece of sugar free cheery pie with sugar free ice cream.
Not much today. I worked in the far back yardgathering up the limbs that I trimed off the trees and bushes. I made 2 piles to pick up with the tractor and grapple. I also took up some rail and a left hand switch that needed redoing. It was part of the original main line and had been out of service for a long time. Last year I hit it with the mower and bent it a bit. Most of the ties were rotted out and I would have to replace them all. It's easier to remove the rail and relay it.
Jeff: That sounds like a awfull lot of woooorrrr. Yea that word. Be very careful when you two try to turn those desks over.
Well time for bed.
Greetings from Mosport,
Trying to get used to this new fangled laptop after a long day at the track. Hope everyones doing well and you work out the pie/dishwasher cunundrum. CUL, J.R.
