Must be a Baldwin - looks like the box it came in (jusst kidding).

Good Morning All,

Long day yesterday, went to Ayer Ma to pick up a Caterham for a client - took from 6am to 8 pm including making it able to roll (it's a kit car).

No model railroad work the last few days but I will get to the museum later this morning. Since PC is buying, I'll have the grande especiale with eggs bacon and rye toast. Coffee and an OJ would be good too please. And maybe a side of blueberry pancakes.  Yum!  CUL,J.R.

Top of the morning to ya!

We got a cool front during the night and we are @ 48 as opposed to 67 this time yesterday. Rain and wind are the GO words for the day.  DCC update- Digitrax is releasing a sound decoder for those of us who don't run KATO. it has both steam and diesel on the same chip which can be actvated by adjusting some CVs for the type of engine. If you want a specific engine whistle or horn then you have to buy the programing/download accessory, then download the file from the Digitrax library.

I'm gonna put one in my new SD 45-2 bicent. Santa Fe.

10:00 gotta open up!

I'm getting very close to advancing to DCC. I just need $33.49 Until I can get a Zephyr and a $20 decoder.
Other than that, the only things new are:
The pacific science center train show next weekend, 3 days long.
(This is wierd cause' I live in Seattle) The Cowboys are gonna slaughter the Seahawks, and so on.
I'll stay for a bit,

Well, I just got back from the train show.  I'm $300 poorer.  But for that I got 2 brand new 4-8-4's (Bmann), 2 brand new 2-8-0's (Bmann Spec.), 7 lighted Harriman passenger coaches, 4 heavyweight coaches, 4 bobber cabeese, 4 steel gons, a wooden milk stop shed, 2 wooden railroad grade crossings, 4 moose, and an aux. tender for my N&W J.  Not a bad haul I thought.

Thanks all!

I figured I'd best get out of Dodge while I could, so after three hours I booked!  Crowds were getting pretty big anyways.  I think I scooped a bunch of them though!

Today we not only broke many records in New England for temperature, we down-right smashed them. I went to church at 4 today in a short sleeve shirt...never did that before in January. It is still 60F here at 7pm...that's right 60F. Global warming is only a myth, don't believe it guys............Ya RIGHT!!

This morning on the way to the club meeting to start working on the corner section of our exhibit's layout, I dropped by Brosnan Yard to see what was happening. Oh, wait, the weather:

It was a horrible day. We worked on the corner and then went to eat lunch. We went back down to the yard and look at this!

But it couldn't last:

Tomorrow it is going to get bad again, and the clouds were already rolling in.

But a good day at the yard.

Hi Gang: I'm all better now and feel normal. I spent the afternoon cleaning out the east side of the corrals. Anyone need some fertilizer? I found the last missing part to the feeder that the cows tore up last month. Now all I have to do is weld it back together. The weather is fairly good. Temp in the low 50s light wind. The wind feels cold on the face and neck but it feels warm when the sun comes out from behind the clouds. Yes the weather is unusual for this time of year. I've been thinking about getting the lawn mower out and doing the back yard. I didn't get to it earlier.

PC: That was a super haul. I'm not going to mention that there is a show in Ft. Worth. You'd probably come down and get all the good stuff.

Good to hear from you Chuck and Kathy.

OZ: The Great Lakes are down also. The lake boats are having to load less then full loads because of the low water. 1 inch of water equals 250 tons of cargo in a 1000 foot boat. That must have been some storm. Any info on damage or injuries?

Well I'm going to hit the sack. Good Night All

I don't know about knocking them dead with my looks.  I think maybe it was more like I was Johnny on the spot!

Here's some pics of the haul today.  My camera was dying so the pics are kind of rushed, so I appologize.

Here's some heavy duty motive power.  Two 2-8-0's and two 4-8-4's: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture019_edited.jpg

Here's a bit closer on one of the 2-8-0's: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture013.jpg

And here's a bit closer on one of the 4-8-4's: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture017.jpg

Here's those lighter passenger cars (yes, I know I need a little more track): http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture021.jpg

And they look pretty good close up too, but some cleaning wouldn't kill them: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture023.jpg

I got this little guy by himself: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture026.jpg

Picked up 4 of these (4 for $10!!!): http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture027.jpg

And four of these (4 for $10 again!!!): http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture028.jpg

And four of these (at 4 for $10!!!): http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture029.jpg

I already had this J class, but the Auxillary tender I got today for $5!: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture039.jpg

Also nabbed a pair of wooden grade crossings and a milk stop kit: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture048.jpg

And who knew N scale Moose were so expensive!  $20 for all 4!: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/WGH%20Show%202007/Picture043.jpg

Thats about it!

Yes it's January and the weather is definately on the warm side and a good thing too as with the rain today if it had been snow... I it would have been a good 2' deep!

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!

Later all

Last call for coffee on the east coast......

PC:  The pics came out just fine Phil, the camera still had enough umph. You did real good!! I hope I can do as well at the BIG E the end of this month.

FERGIE: At least this weather has given you a great break to get that addition done. Had this been a normal Winter, no telling where the addition would be.

I just saw the end of the Seattle/Dallas playoff game......for those who saw it, or will see the sports highlights later, what kind of a plane ride home do you think Tony Romo is going to have? I think I would walk back to Dallas.
