Hey Mike, the state is Louisiana, the parish is Vernon, the city is Leesville. That'll put you in the ballpark.

Thanks.  Next round's on me.  Glazing windows is tough work, even in 1:87.  On this kit, the windows will actually open and close, and they're double-hung, not hinged out.  So, every one is two separate pieces of "glass," a frame for the lower and a large frame for the whole window.  4 stories, too.  I've been painting details and mortaring the brick faces for a week now, and it's still just a box of little parts.

Not really. It's been a long week. After dinner, couple Scotch's and half a bottle of Bordeaux I think it is time to call it a night and get a good night's sleep. It's going to be a long weekend. Cook all day tomorrow just to get ready for Thanksgiving (Canadian). Final count? Looks like it is 35 for Sunday. Better get to the beer store and LCBO tomorrow.

Good Night to All

It's Friday, and beer thirty.

MGD today just for something different, I think the first one had a hole in it,

or maybe was defective.  Only took a few drinks and its empty already.

Was working on putting up the light valance but lost interest.

I have 28" of separation between the top of the benchwork and the bottom

of the valance.  I know some people prefer the shadowbox look, but

that looks kinda small to me. I was thinking raise it up 6"

So what do you guys use? and how do you like it?

I also heard that if you find a mouse in your beer, that you can get

free beer.  hose off aye.

I'm home from work...Sooo...This next round is on me! Set um up Joe!

Mike, my music tastes run a far stretch these days! About the only thing I don't like is Heavy Metal and Rap! Yes, EL&P and Pink Floyd still have an honored spot in my collection!

I haven't had or taken any time to work on the railroad of late, but I took some time to get a few pics uploaded to Photobucket....They didn't turn out all that great, but I'll keep trying. First off, I'm not that good with computer stuff and secondly, every time I use the digital camera...Well, I really should read the operators manual each time...Need I say more?

None the less: When I have the AMBX fleet finished it will consist of 36' and 40' woodsiders and 40' Steelsiders with two different paint schemes. For now... Here's a shot of CCRY SD-9 #1724 leading a couple of 40' A. Meininger Brewing reefers over the Greenwood River, the only diorama that I have somewhat completed. In all honesty when I really operate the pike (when I have it more complete) neither the SD nor the reefers would ever be on this trackage, as it is the trackage of the Sawyer Lumber Railroad...More suited for the Shays and Climax locos.

One weathered, one fresh. These are just Athearn BB painted blue and brown and decorated with transfers. I'll try a close up (I think there is even a setting for that on the camera) and a different resolution next time, but I hope you at least get an idea of what I've done.

Evening all, I'll have an Old Mil, Joe.
Ran over to Terre Haute this evening, IND railway has a rolling IND. history on rails there and wanted some photos of it. Closed when we got there, but got some photos of the box cars carrying it.
Also been wanting some of the old Merkle mill damn, in N. Terre Haute, to help in doing my layout back round. I got alot of remebers from there as a kid.
Got real lucky there, the old NYC tracks cross the mill pond and I got some photos pair of W. bound CSX engines also.
Catch up on the post latters on

I guess if I had to make a single choice for favorite all-time musical act, I'd have to say Eric Clapton.  I'll certainly listen to Floyd or ELP if they pop up on the radio.  Lately, though, the oldies stations have been migrating to the 70's, which to me is leaving the realm of Oldies and entering the decades of "Crummies."  I will say, though, that the stuff coming out now is better than most of what I've heard since the Summer of Love.  I even enjoyed the Green Day concert last year, in the company of 3 teenage girls.  Would have liked it even more if I'd been a teenage boy.  Gee, the stuff girls wear to concerts now used to be referred to as "intimate apparel."

Just one quick Bud tonight, please.  It's too late for the good stuff.  My daughter had a field hockey game after I had work, then a quick dinner and off to Parent-Teacher night.  I'm really happy with her teachers this year at Bedford High, and they seem happy with her, too.  She may not be interested in trains, but if she can get A's then I'm not gonna complain.

I've been putting in some hours this week painting Baldy's Barbershop and assembling the Walters fire escapes for it, so I don't think I've even powered up the layout since Sunday.  It's got a billion and a half little plastic windows to glue together, but I hope to get it assembled this weekend.  I'd better do it before I pop the first cold one, though.  All downhill from there.

Not that I want to start a war of words or albums for that fact. I agree that "The Wall" is great and I do mean great but there are a couple of other albums which are close in comparison. "The Final Cut" is a must for a "Wall" fans and of course with out question "Wish You Were Here" and lastly "Momentary Laspe of Reason" are all albums that are a must if you are a Pink Floyd fan.

But then again, that's just my opinion. I'll have another Scotch plaese.

Agreed.  The Wall stands as a great concept album delving into the dark side of lunacy as  experienced  by Sid Barett.  But, I do have to agree with The Final Cut, Wish You Were Here, and Animals as some of my favorites.  For a taste in the bizarre, add Ummagumma (I think I spelled that right).

Chris

Mike;

When I cook a Pot Roast I like to do it in a cast iron pot on the BBQ and turn one burner off while the other is on med to low and let it go all afternoon.

Back in the late sixties and early seventies all I would listen to were Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd and Emerson Lake and Palmer. I can't say I was a big fan of Ted Nugent, but I did like some of his songs. I did like Alice Cooper who was also from Detroit which is close to where i grew up. I'm afraid that Aerosmith,ACDC & Kiss decidely not my cup of tea. Now, Molly Hatchett on the other hand, I seem to recollect them as one of the bands we would listen to. NEVER DISCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still listen to Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis and ELP. Actually went to a Yes concert last year where all the oriignal members performed. It was one of the best concerts i ahve ever been at.

Now I have a tendency to listen to Swing, Classical and Sound Tracks - Lord of the Rings?

How'd the pot roast turn out the other night with the stout?

The roast was good.  I got impatient and cooked it at too high of a temp, so it was a little tough.  But, the stout made a really good gravy the next night.  I would have to say that if you had the right piece of meat and the the time cook it slow and low at about 200 degrees for 4+ hours, I think it would be well worth it.

If you like shrimp, I have a great Mediterranean Garlic Shrimp recipe.
