How Young/Old Are you?

Ok so im sorry for making the poll haters mad but i wanted to get a feel of the age group that model railroaders are. Personally im only 22 and feel like there are very few in my bracket that actually enjoy this hobby. It just feels like my generation is missing out on some great stuff. Again sorry if you hate polls but it was the easiest way to do this. That and i just wanted to have some fun with this one.

This exact question was asked over on the Atlas forum as well. The results of the averae age was about 43 years old. Well here is a copy of what the results were from 76 people


Ok guys so I have done all the math so far on 76 participants
Total ages added up equals 3242


23.68% of us guys are 30yo and younger (18 guys)
64.47% of us guys 31-59yo (49 guys)
11.84% of us guys 60yo+ (9 guys)
Then average age is 42.66 years old

I wish I could have afforded to partake in this hobby when I was 22. I was lucky to be able to pay the bills and eat. Your lucky if you can afford to spend money on a hobby like this at such a young age.

At the age of 45, I could have selected 1 of 2 responses. 40-45 or 45-50.
I picked the 1st, because I dont feel old enough to be in the 45-50 group (yet)!

many 65 and older don't use computers that often,but i'm pretty sure that it's a pretty large modeling group.You'll see many of us at train shows,hobby shops,etc.(If our nurse will wheel us there)I've been modeling 35+years,and I'm starting to not be able to keep up with the hobby advances.I'ts become a constant learning process.I've started to buy more and more R-T-R in order to "GET 'ER DONE"
