Well, the computer clock says it's 11:23 pm, so it is still October.
We survived trick or treat, which is the good news. Bad news is that the leftover candy is Skittles or some such, which I don't like. I'm a chocoholic. Bad for my type 1 diabetes, but that's what insulin is for.
Anyway, if anyone wants to do the diner thing have at it. If not I'll take care of it in the morning. Suggestions are welcome re: theme or location.
CNCharlieToday I want to set up the heated bird bath.
Is it a jacuzzi? Or do you only get bubbles when the birds sre flatulent?
Happy Halloween!
When I was a lad the call we made to get treats was 'Halloween Apples'. If you did Trick or Treat then you must be an American but now it is mostly Trick or Treat here too.
Weather has been mild but very dry. For mild I mean 45F. Hope to get the pots largely emptied over the next week. Pond pump out after that.
Nothing much happening here. My wife is going through a very rough patch. Sure hope she can pull out. She isn't eating much either.
Today I want to set up the heated bird bath.

Water Level Route rrebell thousands of photographs to go through Good luck with that. At least that part can be enjoyable at times. I know I have a bunch of old family photos coming to me when my mom passes. She and I are the ones in the family interested in family history. I, however, will end up doing the work of digitizing the photos so they last forever and linking them to the family tree I built on Ancestry.com. Not a trivial amount of work. Hang in there. It will be worth getting through all the old pictures in the end.

maxmanWhere are the chocolate shots?
Water Level Route Hey Chris! A tin roof sundae is basically a hot fudge sundae dressed up a little bit. Two scoops of vanilla covered in chocolate sauce, a scoop of chocolate drizzled in marshmallow sauce, a good handful of Spanish peanuts, whipped cream, and a cherry! Zoe, I'll take another!

Flo, I'll take one to go please!

Medicare is easy in California if you go with Kaiser, less cost each year and more benifits. My main worry is fiquring out the timing for a portfolio change, was all in on fed funds fund which has been great since my main source of funds repaid all they had borrowed at the end of last year. Now slowly going into muni funds and no I don't have that kind of money but I get a decent return of about 5% tax free over time but the timing has to be right as I no longer need any paper loses in my life. Train wise nothing, just have not felt like it since I have been doing my mom's estate, a lot more work and headaches that I though not to mention the thousands of photographs to go through, not joking as alot of the relitives that passed sent piles during the last decade. Almost done though!
Mike, what in blazes is a tin roof sundae?
Evening diners. Zoe, a tin roof sundae please.
Been a busy beaver lately and most of it isn't good. I've had about 8 out of 9 days now that have all basically been Mondays if you know what I mean. It's getting old and so am I because of it!Glad I don't have to think about Medicare yet. Not so sure that I've ever heard anything good on that subject.
Supposedly some new train cars will be on my doorstep in a few days. I'll post some pics when I get them.
rrebell they charged more and gave less,
Spent some time today trying to figure out 2025 Medicare supplement drug plans. Above statement from rrebell seems pretty accurate.
Went to a Celtic fair/ Haloween event near Angles Camp California, they charged more and gave less, will not go again. It used to be a yearly ritual with family. Had fun though at a street fair in the same area and found a place with prices from 10 years ago to snack, people there get big tips.
Good Morning Diners. Chloe, coffee please. Sitting at the auto glass repair place, trying to post from my phone. Got a chip Saturday evening that needs to be fixed before it gets worse. Had a fun time at our event Saturday night. My daughter was still on cloud nine Sunday. Totally worth it. Hope everyone is doing well.
Gidday Chris, "spelling" was a dismal attempt at a pun.
Charlie, I hope treading lightly works for you.
Cheers, the Bear.

Good Morning,
Looks like I'm talking to myself here. Oh well nothing new.
Things are looking up a little on the home front. Will tread lightly.
Nice weather next 4 days then a big drop. Will have to get the pots cleaned out end of the week.

Good Afternoon,
Mike, hope Otis is feeling better. Always tough when a little buddy is in pain. I don't have any RR purchases coming. Haven't bought anything last 2 years.
If I thought last week was tough this one has been far worse. My wife is in a bad way. She usually pulls out in a day or two but not this time. Her psychologist is coming by this afternoon. Sure hope he can reach her.
I sent a message to Dave. I'll advise if he responds. I hope he does.
Good Morning Diners. Brunhilda, I'll have a mocha and a raspberry danish please.
Sure wish I could log in on the computer I use most of the time, but at least I'm able to get on here at all. Not sure why, but I'll take being able to at least post.
Some good news from my end of the world-my oldest daughter is home for the weekend and we are going as a family to a ghost hunting event tomorrow night. She is SO EXCITED. Will make for an extremely late night, but it should be fun.
Good news on the train front, my first batch of pre-ordered cars arrived state side. I paid last night and am now eagerly awaiting an early Christmas present. Anybody else get anything new for your trains lately?
I see Tom challenged us to start a new thread on the site. I'll have to see what I can come up with.
Have to take the wife's car in for a slowly leaking tire in a few minutes. I can't find anything in it, so I'm thinking the bead started leaking. I should know soon enough.
Otis the dog having a rough 18 hours or so. The leg he tore his doggie ACL in has apparently been pretty sore. Not sure what he did to aggravate it, but it is clearly bothering him. This morning is a bit better than last night, so hopefully him taking it easy combined with some pain relievers will have him feeling better soon.
Have a good Friday everyone!
Bear, I guess this is another example of how we are separated by a common language.
Spelling? Isn't that having a rest??
I've always had trouble spelling wurds!
Regads, Chris
TophiasGood afternoon dinners
I think you meant diners, unless you are welcoming people to a Hannibal Cannibal party.
Good afternoon dinners. Flo, could I please have a large ice coffee. Record setting high temperature for the date yesterday here in the Boston suburbs, and today it seems just as nice. 71 degrees as I type this.
so, good news you ask? Is it me or is the forum functioning rather briskly today. Seems like old days. Hope it is a trend and not an aberration.
rrebell This forum has become very morbid. As for people going downhill, I have seen it when people just don't care anymore about their survival even if they have close family, they feel they have done their work, very sad. Now enough of this doom and gloom, any good news out there?

Well, next weekend, the MR clubs of the Ottawa-Gatineau region will have open door events. That should be fun. I'll try to take a few pictures.
Simon
rrebell any good news out there?
Sure. In two months the trees will have stopped shedding, and three months after that spring will be around the corner.
