I'm still here and kickin' John, but haven't had much time recently for chatting.

Still here! It's been a little busier than I wanted today.
Tomorrow is our anniversary, so we will drive into the city (about 50 miles) to eat at Cracker Barrel, my wife's favorite place. I don't mind the food, but I don't like the fact that you have to walk through a store to get into the restaurant. That means my wife finds something to buy every single time we go there.
Forty-five years ago, we were having a great time in New Orleans. A bunch of friends grabbed me at my apartment and took me to the French Quarter for my last night as a single. Lots of fun.
TF, now it's time for me to turn in. Have a great evening, everyone.

A little known fact. Out of 3867 Mustang California Specials sold, only three came with the 428 Cobra Jet.
Probably cuz it's like packing a tornado into two wheels. Could a back order be done? ...

York1 TF, it's great you're able to post again. The only issue with the forum I've noticed lately is the slow loading time. As with you, I don't know if it's the forum or if it's my laptop.

Thanks John, I've noticed that too. Still think it's a little of both, but thankful my daughter got the communication device figured out at this end.
Wasn't that a Royal "B", cutting the fused members apart after they had cured for a long time? I'd say it is. Good job on saving the Trusses!
Did a bit of that a while ago myself, and know how tedious it is. Could it be, that what we are doing now is considered reverse engineering? No wait, that's Area 51
Haven't found the time to continue yet, but would bet anything, that you will get your bridge finished before me I've been known to be a bit procrastinatory, but don't see you having a problem with that. That's a good quality to have
By the way, Thanks, for all those cool bridges you've been posting lately. It's kind of nice coming to the Forum and seeing all those
Makes me feel right at home
Good Afternoon,
Feels a lot later than it is because it is dark outside.
Went for a blood draw today as hopefully my final appointment with the urologist is next week. It will be 7 years in December since my surgery.
John, good luck with the bridge rebuild. Sounds like a big job. I only did one bridge when I built my N scale layout, a Central Valley kit. Turned out good .
Ordered my mincemeat tarts, my Christmas indulgence. Hard to find them in stores but Amazon to the rescue.
Nice to see Bill back.

Good afternoon. Too late for breakfast, too early for happy hour. I'll just have a cup of coffee.
Bill, welcome back to the diner! It's been a while since we've heard from you.
I continue to work on the layout. It's still fairly nice weather outside, but it's supposed to change by Sunday. I'll have to pick up more leaves before the predicted rain.

Good morning
Thanks for the feedback gentlemen. It appears most of you thought my troubles posting, had to do with my phone. I've seen that probably was the case now.
My oldest daughter stopped by for her favorite dish last night, fettuccine alfredo with chicken and broccoli. After explaining my Online problems to her, she asked how long it's been since I've installed updates on my phone. With a dumbfounded look on my face, my reply was, probably since the last time there was a problem. I've never been the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but more like a dinosaur when it comes to computers and phones.
So I'm taking my phone out for a test drive this morning, after she visited the Playstore and got my phone updated last night. Seems to be working much better so far.
So it Twasn't Me that found the Dilithium Crystals for my communicator, but my daughter who did. Perhaps she should have been named Mrs Scotty
I've always liked that song Anyhow, as it has strong meaning. That Amphitheater, as I'm sure you could call it, with it's beautiful natural stone surroundings, I'll agree, that place is quite the venue as you stated Mr Bear.
Well, still a little glitchy here, but not near as bad as it was. Perhaps I'll try posting a picture a bit later this morning and see how that goes.
Since things seem to be working much better today, I'd better get over to the Goodies thread, and try to restore my unintentional bad hosting over there. I've enjoyed seeing and hearing about everyone's neat stuff ya got this year.
Have a great day gentlemen, and thanks for your help
Good evening, everyone. Since it's getting late in the evening, I'll have a big bowl of ice cream, Chloe.
Ed, I didn't see Glenda in the hobby store today. The entire crew was busy on the phones and working with people in the store.
MisterBeasley, I know what you mean about where you live. Having moved here from New Orleans, at first it took some getting used to. But in a short while, we learned how lucky we are to live in a small town/rural area. The farms/fields are about a 100 yards from my back yard. We love the people and the rural atmosphere.
Bear, the video from the Red Rocks Amphitheater -- it's an amazing place. I've been there several times, and it's as amazing as the pictures show.
Mike, thanks for the comments about the bridge. I did not have a good time building it. I made mistake after mistake in cutting, gluing, and installing. When it was finished, I was relieved, and now what do I do? I cut it apart to change it. My wife may be right about my IQ.
Charlie, our bird feeders have also been busy. My wife was a little upset -- she tried some new woodpecker bars, and the woodpeckers didn't like them. She got rid of them and bought the old brand again.
David, enjoy the family visiting. It sounds like you will have a house full of enjoyment.
Ray, glad to hear your eye is recovering nicely.
For everyone not mentioned, I hope you are doing well.
I had a great day visiting the model railroad shop. I'm always amazed at the amount of HO and N stuff this store stocks. I took a retired BNSF worker with me. He can't understand anyone liking trains! If they don't have it, they will get it quickly and mail it. Great service keeps them in business.
Hope everyone has a great evening.

CNCharlieRay, how are you?
Hey Charlie!
Eye is recovering steadily and I can now see fairly well with it when I use both eyes..... I have been told it will likely another month until I will be completely recovered. I am able to drive (mostly around town) without any trouble. Tonight I drove a couple blocks to a Scout Committee meeting nearby. Had no trouble, but wouldn't want to drive any distance at night yet.
Thanks!

Good evening, Diners. A large Pusser's Rum please, Flo.
I see all seems well and no Forbidden 403s that totally annoyed me for weeks.
It has been a busy week. Dawn not getting her medicine. I have pains in my right leg, fortunately subsiding. The worst thing is not getting in the train room.
Dawn has the elevator installed and is a Godsend for her. We had most of the furniture back in place after the installation; now thing have been moved again as family are staying this weekend. Camp beds are up and made.
Now to read past posts

Good Morning,
Had another mild, 50F day yesterday. We went for a long wali by the river. The water is very low so I expect they opened the locks that are downstream, just north of the city. Good way to be before the winter snowfall. Speaking of that stuff it is falling right now. It should melt tomorrow as we are expecting 40F and sun. Isn't that exciting news.
John, looking forward to your report on the trip to the HS. Now that is exciting.
Ray, how are you?
No train news. Waiting for Ian Wilson's latest book that is now in production but likely won't get it until Jan.
Time to go out and check the bird feeders. It has been busy out there.
Hi Everyone,
Brunhilde, coffee with cream, please.
Bear: That's an interesting video you posted of the Tedeschi-Trucks Band. Susan Tedeschi has been around for a long time and with the addition of Butch Trucks it makes for a winning combination. The venue you mention is Red Rocks which is in the Denver area. Don't know the actual location. Been there once, but that was a long time ago. What struck me is that she wasn't playing her usual bluish Telecaster, but rather a Les Paul standard. Hey, change ups are nice on occasion.
Anyway, thanks for posting.
(Edit): I realized that I misspelled Tedeschi. All corrected.
Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)
Good morning!
Flo, nothing right now. I'm walking out the door to pick up a friend and we're heading to the hobby store! What a great day! I'll check back later.

Good Morning Diners! Brunhilda, coffee and an english muffin please.
John, I guess I didn't realize you built that bridge from scratch. Nice job on that! Can't wait to see it reassembled as a double track affair.
Mr B, I've lived out in the country, in a small town, and in a big city. I'll take the country anytime. Wish I was there now, but our spot in our small town isn't bad.
Ed/Bear, much to be said for being boring! Hope I stay boring as long as possible. Geez it feels weird to say that...
No news from my spot in the world. Hope everyone is happy and healthy.
gmpullman I think I might be in the boring range.
This is our last evening in Myrtle Beach. It's cloudy and in the low sixties. The last few days they've had repair work going on every morning, quite loud, and today they chose to do a fire alarm test just after 9 AM. I'll be glad to get home. Too much concrete and asphalt here, and definitely definitely too much urban noise.
I'm just not a city boy, I guess. I'll be glad to get home to the cats.

Tell Glenda I said HI! Spring Creek came to the Berea, Ohio train show where they displayed some beautiful 3D models and details from an outfit called Yelton Models. They make a replica of the New York Central Berea (BE) tower which I had an interest in.
They sold all the stock they brought with them and I left my name and email so they could contact me when they had more available which was just today!
Looking forward to my Berea tower kit arriving soon

Good morning, diners. Chloe, I'll have bacon, eggs, and black coffee, please.
It's another beautiful day in flyover country. Clear, cool, and very little wind. The only blotch coming up is a yard full of leaves.
I've finally gotten to work on a bridge on the layout. I'm converting it from single to double track. When I originally built the bridge, I installed three lights over the tracks. I thought I would be able to save them, but as I disassembled the bridge, the lights were ruined. I will have to run new wires and lights -- not a big deal, but it will take some soldering and work.

I'm happy to save the sides since they were my biggest headache building them.
Not much else going on. A friend and I will head to Deshler, Nebraska, tomorrow to go to Spring Creek Model Railroad store. It's a great experience. It's a very large store in a small town of less than 1000 people. The owners make it a success through great customer service.
Have a great Wednesday, everyone.

Good Morning Diners. Janie, a tall stack of blueberry pancakes please.
After feeling crummy all day yesterday (weather related headaches), I woke up this morning feeling like a million bucks! Hope this sticks around!
I broke down and turned on the outdoor holiday lights last night. I noticed a few other houses in town with their lights on and caved to the peer pressure! It's okay though, they make me happy and hopefully make plenty of others happy too. The new lights I put up on the roof look great, and the colors match the old lights that are up around the windows and garage doors perfectly.
I got a saved search email notification from eBay this morning about some custom run cars I have been looking for for almost 10 years. They haven't show up anywhere until this morning. My order is placed. I'm so happy about them. It's turning out to be a great day!
Hope everyone's day goes great too!
The Diner... Nobody goes there anymore — it's too crowded.
Glad to see TF back around
