Evening

Yes,  fortunate enough to catch three sightings of them when I lived near the Canadian border.  Two of them were from afar with friends in the group.  One particular on the high clift at night in the Wooden Frog campground.

But that one night when I was alone and it was across the bay behind the main Island of the Grassy Island group.  It went down behind the island and it went up.  The sound of water splashing echoing across the bay.  When that thing came up and droped to the front of the island and turned like it knew I was there.  A sudden fear of adrenaline came upon me and I ran into the woods back to the trails I made that led me down to Kecs Kove.

That thing hovered down the lake past Cutover Island working its way to Namakan Lake that Kabetogama flowed into

I've shared that experience with others through the years after and they looked at me like I was crazy.  Haven't ever seen anything like that since then but I wouldn't trade that memory for anything in the world

Good Evening,

We broke a record today for temperature--- it got up to 45F!

Nothing really new here. I did a run to get some grocery stuff from the butcher and then a specialty store. Both were curbside pickup. We had some nice salmon with a sweet chili sauce tonight.

The results for Robbie's biopsy came in and it was negative for cancer but the sample wasn't from the 'lump'. The surgeon said he didn't dare try to get a sample from the lump as there was too great a risk of hemoraging. So after all that we really aren't any further ahead. Oh well we can say we did try to do everything we could for the little fellow so we won't have any regrets on that score.

John, have you built that Dairy Queen yet? I have one in HO that I put on the layout in memory of my mother who dearly loved soft ice cream.

Work Get The Heck Out Of My Store Front!Angry Had a couple come in with out a mask today! I told them "You must put on a mask to be in the store." Woman acted like she was looking for her mask, give me a break now days no one forgets there mask! She said "We just want to look!" Told her "after you get your mask on."

The man was not even acting like he was looking for his mask. Told him "Sir you must have a masK!" He told me "I'am not requard to ware a mask!"  I said "I am not requard to help you then! Turn around and went into the loading dock and shut the door. Step out of the buliding to watch them. After a minute or so I open the front door and told the lady "You need to leave, this is private property not public property and I will call the polices."

Went back in the lading dock and they left. He tryied to spin his tires to show me he was mad. Note I said tried. Whistling

Resarcher have now found Covid 19 is manily spread my butt holes, not through noses.

Later Ken and Dirk say's Let Me At Them Daddy, I bite them!

.

Why would you not believe this?  How do you think that those obelisk things show up and suddenly disappear?  The astronauts do the plans, the slave labor (composed of those folks who disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle) build them, and the aliens use their transporter to get them to earth.

Also, just so you know, Fox News had a similar report concerning the relationship between another set of aliens, Amelia Earhart, and Big Foot.  But that's a story for another time.

CNCharlie, thanks.  I'm not quite finished getting it onto the layout.  I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the interior of the building to look like a Dairy Queen, but the bright light means you can't see much.

I think it might be a waste of my time to try to make interiors too detailed since no one will see them anyway.

I am happy to have found some modern N Scale cars and trucks.

Sad but true.

The one guy stoped here to check on his deer stand and saw me and Dee Ann with our masks on, outside. As he was getting out of his truck he said "Oh, we're going to do that thing, huh?" and rolled his eyes.

Maybe he's a believer now — maybe not.

Evening all, it really rained today it was monsoonville for a good 20 hours. Now it has stopped and is so calm and smells so nice outside, I keep going for strolls around the property.

I spent five hours going over U.S. income tax statements today of this lady whose Estate I am looking after. I am entitled to 5% as a fee but I am not taking it as it is going to a good cause. I have spent so much time on this Estate and it is really wearing thin. I have done a lot of volunteer work over the years but this takes the cake as far as frustration goes.Bang HeadSoapBox Thanks for listening.Laugh

I was in grade six when I saw the UFO and when I got to school other people were talking about it as well, so I knew I had not been seeing things.

We have a couple of friends that have been Deputy Ministers in the Federal Government including National Defense and the UFO file is real but as they say, other than take the report, not much you can do about it and they have never done anything threatening anyway. The one did say to me that of the three top supernatural subjects Gods, Ghost and UFOs. UFOs were removed from that list a long time ago.

The release of natural gas in the Bermuda Triangle has long been known to cause problems to aircraft and ships. It happens elsewhere in the world as well. These conspiracy TV shows get a lot of mileage out of natural phenomenon that no one ever reads or knows about.

I kind of lost it with some of our acquaintances today that were going on about how horrible they have it with this pandemic and not being able to socialize and I wrote this to them all. They probably hate me but it shut them up.Laugh

David Gilmour is far from a fancy lad.  He always wears a plain T-shirt.

My Brit friend Darren's parents live over there in the neighborhood and got introduced to him.  They go over to his house regularly and hang out with him by his new pool

After this pandemic is over I really wish to fly over the pond with Darren to hang out at Dave's by the poolYes

Good morning all.   The tea and toast is done.    The temperature is hovering below 0c today.

I wondered if Area 51 and Roswell would get mentioned.  Smile   and Bermuda Triangle.

Here is a short film of Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway in Cumbria.  The engines still run today

From Yorkshire to Lancashire.

Enjoy

Good morning everyone.

The workers should finish today, then I can go back to my normal schedule of sleeping until I want to get up.

Waking up at 5:00 is for the birds.

Speaking of birds...

Mornin'......  (sniff, sniff...)  Hmmmmm???  Somebody been smokin' that funny stuff in here???  Or, did flo burn sumpin' in the kitchen this morning???

Been laughing a bit at some of the posts.

Have a good one!  I am still among the living and symptom free still. Day 11 of Quarantine and still feel good.  Well not really good, I'm a bit lonely and not happy because....  Well just because.  Found out last night that my DiL's sister's house has the crud too.  She has two special needs kids.  The son who is severely Autistic was at his other grandparent's house a while back and he caught COVID there.  He is basically uncontrollable at best, so for him to isolate is impossible.  His sister has Rett Syndrome.  If (more likely when) she gets it, she would not likely survive.  Both Grandparents at that house have the virus.  I was a good friend of the grandmother back when I teaching.  She was thee best bus driver you could have for a trip.  Black lady who was/is highly respected in the community and she didn't put up with ANY nonsence on HER bus!  Period!  Good people and my heart is breaking as they are highly at risk of complications at their age (mid 80's)!

I still have not gotten the promised daily screening texts....  I think our county health dept. is now taxed to the limit as we had more new cases yesterday here than they had the first couple months combined.  Almost glad I am quarantined at my house for the moment........

Coffee

A film of the Yorkshire Dales Railway to watch over whilst having a cup of coffee.

From the archive of Ken Ellwood, a film made in 1966/67 showing part of the Yorkshire Dales Grassington Railway from Skipton to Rylstone. The film shows a British Rail steam locomotive Standard class 4 (4-6-0) filmed at different times of the year heading north along the branch line towards Swinden Quarry. The line closed to passengers in 1930 but is still in use up to the Quarry for the transportation of aggregates.

The line is still open and operated by diesel locomotives.

Enjoy!

Good morning, everyone.  I'll have bacon, eggs, and black coffee.  As usual.

David, thanks for the videos.

Today the layout continues to grow a cemetery.  N Scale cemetery stones don't look like much.  I got an iron fence from Gold Medal Models that is actually very nicely done.  I painted it black, and it looks very realistic.

A new granddaughter should come in the next week or so, so we are self-quarantining so we can go visit the baby when it comes.

Since we're talking about flying saucers, for those of you who have Turner Classic Movie channel, this evening at 7:00 Central Time, one of the best 1950s science fiction movies with a great flying saucer is on.  The Day the Earth Stood Still is a classic.  Don't confuse it with the stupid remake in 2008.  If you've never seen it, it's a lot of fun.  "Gort!  Klaatu barada nikto!"

Hope everyone has a good, healthy day.

I had to buy the 2008 remake, becuase it came with the original movie on a separate DVD. The remake is completely terrible... the Earth never even really stood still! The new Gort was awful.

Give me the original any time.

Good morning

Slept like a rock last night for hitting the rack so late.

Rolled out at 9 this morning which is unheard of for me.

Put on Grandchester Meadows off of Ummagumma over coffee.  That's a good one.

I never seen The Day the Earth Stood Still.  I'll have to check that one out in the days ahead here.

Good one KevinYes  I've always really liked blue herons.  Talk about your prehistoric birds.  The pterodactyl never had it so good.  It's good to see them keeping the alligator population down a bit.

Judy started making the chicken enchiladas already this morningDinner  The air smells really good in hereStick out tongue

Good morning from a quiet, calm, dry West Coast.

Just can't get going this morning, I have to go to the accountants for a meeting later about this Estate and then maybe I can run a train, Ya right.

Speaking of this Estate, the lady was deeply religious and held all sorts of titles and positions in the church and when she got married she was given this heavy metal cross from the pope that he had blessed. It was her most prized possession and hung proudly in her living room. On her death bed, she told me to make sure I get it out of the house. She also has a lot of what I will call other religious artefacts that she was given by church leaders over the years. I have put out the call to the masses thinking someone might like a cross that had been blessed by the Pope but I have had no responses. It sits in the box with the other junk and I guess I'll hang on to it in case of a Vampire attack.

Dave, the kid is doing much better, thanks for asking. With the negative covid test the kitchen cabinet installation is back on and starts tomorrow and my wife can resume sending the puppies to their new homes.

Time for the bike, that'll wake me up.

All the best to all.

Yes, the original Day the Earth Stood Still was by far the better version.  Somehow, the old black and white sci-fi and horror films like Night of the Living Dead were creepier than anything they can do now.

Good Afternoon,

Brent, interesting photo of Pilot Mound, MB. I've been to that town several times, the last about 10 years ago. The tracks are long gone now as are the grain elevators.

We are expecting a storm tonight. Hope it doesn't result in too much snow as I have to do a grocery pickup tomorrow afternoon.

Nothing planned today. My wife has hardly slept in the past week. Zero last night so she has gone back to bed today. She says she 'can't turn off her brain'. I rarely have that trouble so I guess there isn't much going on.

I don't care for science fiction movies especially the old ones. Guess I have no imagination.

Think I'll have a hot dog for lunch. I bought some nice butcher made weiners yesterday. 'Drag it through the garden' as Jerry used to say.

Good evening all.   A day of rain and more rain.

Dawn ordered more tinned foodstuff to go to those with hardly any money due to being  'off work' due to Covid.  We then sorted out our food cupboard and added a few more items we thought we would not use and added them to the charity food.

Dawn then arranged for collection this coming Saturday.

Dinner  Beef  teriyaki and salad for dinner tonite.  (A favorite of ours.)

Take Care everyone.

The only remakes of sci-fi movies I would say are definitely better than the originals are Invasion of the Bodysnatchers and The Fly. Maybe you just need Jeff Goldblum to make it a good remake.

There really are not that many good Science Fiction movies. There are way more bad than the good.

A lot of people that say "I like science-fiction" are really meaning "I like Star Wars".

There are a few gems like Jurassic Park, Star Trek II, and Terminator 1 & 2, but most Sci-Fi movies don't amount to much more than a single-watcher.
