Yes. That is a young cat.
My cat is now quite old, has a slight limp and is quite hard of hearing. If I am sitting in front of her and call her name she will look to the left. When I call it again she will turn to the right.
Oh well, enjoy the kitty.

My kitty Blackie (who I lost a year and a half or so ago) doesn't like competion. But all he will do is stick out his tongue...
Now Manet on the other hand wants to meet your kittie! Lost him too a while back. They were both almost 19 years old and died a month apart (litter mates).... I do miss the little guys!

Starting the day with clean-up in the new bathroom. Getting rid of all the construction debris so I can do new tile and painting.

Happy Labor Day to those that are enjoying an extra day off. Labor day is not a holiday for me any longer.
Good morning from the warm, sunny Pacific Rim. We are expecting a big blow today and tonight, warm outflow winds. Usually, our weather comes in off the Pacific, so this is, shall we say a less frequent event. 80km gusting to 100km so I filled the gas cans and we can keep the fridge and freezers going.
I think we are goig to get going on the trainroom bathroom today. It is the slowest reno job ever as we have so much going on.
This is a Matthew Hicks photo that he posted here a long time ago on the forum. Fall is in the air so it has become my background on my computer. It is the siding at Massive (Backsaw) which is between Banff and Lake Louise. In one of the RR publications they talked of a very old Grizzly bear that took up residence there for years living off spilt grain and abundance of fish and other food sources. The RR workers and the bear were so comfortable with each others pressence that the workers had no issues walking right past Mr. bear when he was beside the track.
I have sat in this spot a few times to take in the rail action myself.
John, I really like your hotel pics. I find peoples travels interesting as I enjoy travelling immensely.
Time to go set up the tile saw, the boss is ready. She sets the tile with her surgeons skill, I do everything else. Works for me.
All the best to all.

Today's gem in New Mexico is the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Unfortunately, we are a little early in the season for most of the migratory birds. The best months for seeing the birds are November through January. Bosque del Apache is the winter home to thousands of sandhill cranes, snow geese, and other birds. Bring your good camera, a telephoto lens, and a tripod for some excellent pictures.
Richard
Bosque visitor center still closed and lack of rain means the impoundments are dry. Many of the trails are closed ude to "social distancing". Still a good spot to see migranting smaller birds at the moment.
Good evening, everyone.
I've had a busy day, but didn't really accomplish much.
I cut the lawn and got the fall fertilizer on it. Changed the oil in the mower. Took a nap. Watched a Perry Mason rerun. This is a holiday, but even if it wasn't, I'd still be doing the same things.
I just got a Baconator hamburger from Wendys. That is good food! Of course, bacon makes any food better.
Someone mentioned White Sands a few days ago. That is another great site to see in New Mexico. I couldn't find any more recent photos, but I found one of me in college with several friends when we stopped to check out the site of the first atomic bomb. I had more hair then. A lot more hair.
Have a good Monday evening, everyone.
York1 John

Mmmmm... Bacon... that sure sounds good.
The annual Bacon Festival was cancelled this year.
Everything was cancelled this year... but, the Bacon Festival is something I love.
Just want to say thanks for going to New Mexico! You got me to make my first post. We lived in Los Alamos when I was a kid (in the 60's). It is a beautiful state, and inspired me to love trains, expacially narrow gauge.
It is great to see places I remember from my childhood.

Where are you? It has been a week since you surfaced.
Good morning
Sitting on my stoop early over coffee. The Autumn is definitely showing her face this morning. It usually takes less than 50 degrees for me to throw on a flannel but I found one of my favorites in the closet. I sure am enjoying the cool weather!
I got rather enthralled on my layout lately trying to get it ready for track. I missed you guys so I thought I should drop a line this morning
We had a week off and tried to find a cabin to go get away from everything for the holiday but that's what everyone else was doing so we were unsuccessful.
I wanted to make good use of the week so I guess I kind of isolated myself from everything and spent the most time since the start working on my layout. I'm pretty excited about laying my track.
I had an afterthought to fix on the left side that was too crunched together by the bridge. I couldn't live with it so it had to be moved over. It surely wasn't done with a snap of the fingers as all the foam cookie cutter was consecutive and all glued together like a sandwich I was surprised how many other things needed attention and just plugging away at it.
I'm doing fine and hope you all are as well Good to see everyone here! and hope you all have a great day.

Thank for checking in. New Mexico has been a good stop for the diner.
Chloe should be here with that Breakfast Burrito soon.
No sign of Fall down here. Days in the 90s are predicted for the next few weeks.
90'S, ... Yikes!
You can have that Kevin! I just got over THAT up here! Better you than me
P.S. Thanks for rattling my cage
Good morning. Bacon, eggs, and coffee.
We hit our drastic weather change this morning. It was 96° on Sunday, and today, the high will be 46°. It is snowing about 100 miles west of us. We're just getting mist.
Every so often, make that often, I will say something very dumb when I should have just kept my mouth shut. Today will be makeup day for something I said yesterday. Sometime I will learn.
Track Fiddler, I think pretty much everyone missed you more than you know. Glad to know you're OK.
For our diners who are ill or having problems, I hope things get better.
Track fiddler90'S, ... Yikes! You can have that Kevin!
I need to ammend my post about the upcoming weather. It looks like the forcast has changed for some days coming up, and we are expected to miss the 90s for a few days, but not by much.

I guess I'm going to go with that one
So Frustrating...
I have been waiting for weeks for Model Train Stuff to get Kadee #7501 undecorated hopper cars back in stock. They finally got a couple in and I went to place my order, but now they are out of Tortoise Switch Machines!
I might never get this order filled.
Still waiting for cooler weather, 106° yesterday.Mel My Model Railroad Bakersfield, California I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.
The internet is definitely saturated with people buying Kevin.
I share your frustration as I shorted myself one right hand unifrog turnout for my main line that was backordered when I ordered before.
Now I will have to wait a long time again ... Man! You would think I would at least know how to count by now
And 106° Mel! I didn't even know people could breathe in that!
Good morning ....
TF .... Good to see you. ... If a post hog is absent for a period of time, it is noticable.
Richard ..... That is a lot of birds in your photo. We are very close to "Bird Island" which has zillions of birds of various spicies. We pass closely on the boat to see them.
Mel ... 106 F seems very hot to me. One of our daughters lives in southern AZ, and they have hot weather every summer.
Kevin ... Do you always buy from the same seller? Seems like other online retailers would have stuff you want.
Everybody ...... Have a nice day
And it’s normally single digit H but for the last three weeks of 105° plus the H has been high making it worser!Mel My Model Railroad http://melvineperry.blogspot.com/ Bakersfield, California I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

Kevin they still have the six packs

If you end up with an extra Tortoise or two, they can be used to power crossing gates. It's not an extra part, just starting to gather parts for the next project.
We're cleaning out the garage and I found an old real crossing gate bell I received years ago as a gift. At the time, I actually plugged the 12 volt input into my crossing gate controller. It worked. Impossibly loud. I'm going to bring it to the LHS and give it to him. I really can't use it, but someone will want it.

LION has over 50 turtle switch machines, most in use but a few on the table. I want to use them inside of my interlocking machine to lock levers that are not supposed to be moved.
PS: 38 degrees outside this morning, but no snow yet. Mountains of the Rocks got snow.
